the bank bar & brasserie

the restaurant is where a bank used to be, with the bnz sign still visible on the building. we stopped by for dinner and it was quite empty so we had a choice of seats. we ended up on the bar side of the place so the tables were higher and we were seated on stools. the place did look quiteniceand comfortable. they had a decent selection of items on the menu and i ended up trying the roast vegetable ravioli. the portions were decent and the flavours were nice. there werenicechunks of roast vegetables within the creamy, tomato sauce. i also tried the arancini and thought that the coating had the texture of raw, crispy rice. it did tastenicethough.
it is aniceplace for dinner or for drinks. it was fairly quiet which i enjoyed so we could have a conversation.

went with my friend few days ago to have $5 pizzas. must say it’s amazing and tasty. even in $5 you get a huge pizza which fills you up. also the atmosphere is good. staff and their service is really nice. hard to find seats if you go late. but overall it’snice👍

great place to dine! lovely atmosphere with great walls for ig photos 😉 the food wasniceand very affordable (see captions for prices). the eggs benny was nice, could have been warmer but i assume the hollandaise cooled it down. i love the generous serving of hollandaise, it was a true eggs benny! the pizza was also a great snack to have on the side. wait staff are very friendly and attentive. needs were well met. will definitely be back to try the other lunch courses! note: must have i.d.

friendly staff and great service. went there for lunch. nicemenu for $12 lunches. we really enjoyed our meals that we had. we didnt have to wait long which was good considering how busy it can get at lunch.

we arrived at hamilton at 3pm in the afternoon, and were most grateful to see that this was the only places still open for lunch.

the building is beautiful by the way, so picturesque. the interior has aniceambience too, especially the back of the restaurant which looks to be a library.

was a little bit disappointed at how slow we were greeted/the service was though, given that there were hardly any people, but plenty of staffs behind the desk.

they have this wonderful $12 lunch deal which i highly recommend. the serving size of my pumpkin & feta ravioli was a bit small, but it was  delicious, with plenty of vegetables, and this creamy flavourful tomato sauce. it was one of those dish that would definitely cost $17-$29 at fancier italian restaurants. husband had their spare ribs, which he added $2 to change the chips to wedges. he said it was decent. all in all, definitely good value for money. the lemon lime and bitters were also one of the better ones.

a good place for lunch or pub grub!

the bank is always a great place to eat – lunch or dinner! it’sniceand quiet at lunch time, also with $12 lunch meals. at dinner time it starts to get a lot livelier. i wouldn’t say the food is anything spectacular but has good vibes and generally good value for money.

took my grandies for lunch.. we didn't get a very warm welcome but we're served quickly and food arrived in good time. we ordered pizza n fries. the pizza was typical bar type pizza but tasty enough n kids enjoyed it. we sat out back in the courtyard which wasnicen breezy for a hot day. okay for bar food, noisy for a lunch time n not really my kinda place but over all grandies enjoyed their trip out for lunch and price wise okay.

bit of a road trip down to h town today for a b'day lunch @ the b, out in the court yard. the music playing was really good and the court yard's well sheltered and isniceand bright. we just shared two $12 lunch specials as platters had also been on offer, your usual pub grub, but nicely presented and food hot.

we ordered the caesar salad and beef nachos. the salad ingredients were lovely and fresh and nachos tasty. adequate for two $12 specials. the bar staff were really friendly too.

have been here a few times, the food is okay, not the best but okay for its price (lunch time). staff are pretty friendly and accommodating.niceand tidy inside :)

usually i enjoy eating here but yesterday i must say i was not impressed. the food was tasty when it finally came but the service was quite slack. most of the staff were very friendly however it would have beenniceto have some faster more on to it service.

we headed along and had the lunch menu which does offer a wide selection of offerings.

the staff that served us were very friendly and they kept the beers coming. as for the food it was average and nothing special. my chicken burger lack imagination but was moist and edible. the chips wereniceand crisp.

we had a really great lunch at this place over this christmas break. really impressed by the service of our waitress kristen in particular andniceto have a chilled bottle of water immediately placed on our table before ordering. lovely atmosphere and good size lunch specials on the menu. i would definitely eat here again and would recommend it to all. a good combination ofnicefood and attentive service makes this place a winner.

went for the $10 lunch as blackboard outside showed somenicemeals. waiter took our order for the meal which was fine, we hadn't yet made our mind up for the drinks, so he said he'd be back in 5 mins.
20 mins later...he took our drinks order.
some meals had the option of a side dish of fries or chips for an extra $3.50 which was fine. we all ordered a pizza each as we were really hungry, ordered a side of 'curly fries' we could all share.
all good and fine, pizzas were lovely with the small bowl of curly fries. time to pay the bill and were charged $10 for the 'small bowl' of curly fries...just about fainted. they cost more than the 200ml bottle of bubbly we ordered !!!!!!!! questioned it, all the did was shrug their shoulders and say we were charged the 'bar snack' price... what a rip off !! won't be back. could have bought 2 huge bags of potatoes for that horrendously overcharged price.

what anicepleasure it was to receive service of such a high standard accompanied by a warm and welcoming smile. for anyone looking for a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere with great food, i recommend the bank bar & brasserie.
