please don't let this place fool you!!! i was sceptical because i didn't think a restaurant inside of a grocery store could be good but this is hands down the bestthaifood in winston salem!!! my boyfriend eats anything but i am a strict vegetarian. we can both eat here and have plenty of options and both leave very full and happy!! this place is a must for anythaifood lover! try it!

believe the hype. sure, it's odd that you're eating really awesome-qualitythaifood inside a harris teeter.
but it is worth every penny. the food is amazing, and cheaper than just about any otherthaicuisine you can get in the city. the plus side is after you eat, you can shop around the store without doing so on an empty stomach.
the beef red curry was very flavorful with an ample amount of peppers and meat. this is a place i will be frequenting.

delicious.. it is probably best to just get the take out, but the food is seriously so delicious. the curry is full of the most amazing flavor and even the padthaiis probably the best i've had anywhere in town.

did not like it at all. atmosphere was musty and awkward. the waitress kept apologizing but we didn't know why... we didn't complain about anything and she didn't do anything wrong. we got the padthaiand duck confit. i thought they were both bad. not trying to be super negative. i just expected to be blown away based on the rating and reviews. i don't care to go back.

awful!. overpriced, overcooked and under-spiced. i swear the food was recycled from a day old and bad chinese carry out order. basil rolls had tough wrappers,(these were supposed to be the fresh type, not fried) overcooked shrimp, regular old spaghetti(in lieu of glass noodles) and was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce. fried spring rolls tasted like bad chinese egg rolls wrapped in cardboard. that was just what i even tried to eat as the basil and tofu vegetable dish was reeking of ammonia and stale grease. stay away, not any semblance to whatthaifood should be.

impressed. i had no idea it would be this good. i just had the penang curry and it's amazing. i've been to a lot ofthaiplaces around here and this might be the best dish i've had yet. who would have thought this would be in a harris teeter grocery store? sooooo good. a friend recommended this place to me when i expressed my unhappiness with the asian restaurant selections here in winston (for some reason they are all in greensboro). will definitely be going back often especially since it's within walking distance of me. :d

bestthaiin ws. i have been coming to this unassumingthairestaurant tucked away inside harris teeter since it opened about 5 years ago, and i have been blown away by every single meal i've eaten from sawadee. granted, i tend to stick to curries and pad thai, because they do it so well that i've rarely had reason to stray. spicy, flavorful, lots of coconut milk and lime, and their tofu is more like seitan and soaks up the flavors beautifully. their shrimp are large and fresh too. sawadee: highly recommended, as you'll be able to tell by the lines at peak lunch and dinner times.

tried the padthaiand is is horrible! it looked like carrot noodles. the crumbles were more like pea-size chunks you had to break down. when i dove in with a fork, the whole damn thing came up like a glob of something. looks as if this thing was sitting for a long time from a previous order someone didn't pick up. truly disappointed. waste of my money. ain't going back...ever.

not the real deal. hmmm, not sure what you guys are comparing the food to...otherthaiplaces in winston or places that actually serve authenticthaifood.
i'm from sydney and love mythaifood. been dissappointe in wonston thus far
the padthaiis not even average...you all have to taste the real thing elsewhere to know the difference.
the only thing i think comes close to the real deal is the green curry of the about 10 things that i've tasted off the menu so far

nom nom nom. this is my favorite place in ws to eat. i go to the one on healy drive. the portions are giant for the price you pay. i always have leftovers for the next day. the flavors are so rich and the service is wonderful. there isn't a ton of ambience, but it's very clean and simple. by far, the place i suggest for affordablethaifood.

i went to the location at harris teeter. i loved the pad thai, sooo good. lunch specials are priced well, but i ordered thethaibasil mild and it was still really spicy, but tasty.
