thai herb restaurant

zomato is an app for food lovers, so it needs the honesty reviews from all customers. tonight we went to the thaiherbrestaurant in gungahlin, it’s unbelievable that the curry dish and the pad thai can be served within 3 to 5 mins after we ordered the food. i am sure that they didn’t cook the food fresh but just heat the food up. worse still, the dishes were not hot at all when they arrived on the table. we ate a lot of delicious thai food before in somewhere else but unfortunately this restaurant extremely disappointed us. i apologise but i would not recommend this restaurant to you all unless they make improvements in the aspects of freshness, tastiness and the basic food temperature. they should have cooked the food freshly for customers in stead of just heat the food up. some of the dishes can even charge up to $30 each. this is extremely overpriced and not worth that price at all.

not happy, i’ve ordered from thaiherbmany times in past. it used to be my favourite. but after tonight’s meal, i won’t be back.

the yellow curry literally had no flavour, it was strange, just cream and texture taste, no hint of any other flavour. i couldn’t eat it. the green curry had some flavour, although felt watered down. the rest of the food was just ok.

i’m quite upset because i paid $134 to feed my family and we received terrible cold food.

and i’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, but i’m seriously disappointed.

thaiherbpretty good red curry but the prawns are tough. i have had red curry there a number of times. the prawns are too tough to bother eating and the chicken is the cheap cut. it is a real pity because the curry is good, i still get it i just don't eat the prawn or the chicken.

located near other restaurants on the waterfront in gungahlin, thaiherbhas a more upmarket setting that is engaging with both indoor and outdoor seating. byo is very reasonable at $2 per person. dishes, while tasty and attractive, are not large and difficult to share between more than four or five people. prices are good, ranging from about $15 to up to $27 for specialities. rice is $2.50 per serve. desserts are generous serves and good for sharing – $6.50- $9.50. for a mixed group order one dish and one rice per person. a banquet from $25 per person is also a good option and a 25 % discount is welcome

recently thaiherbexpanded into a new building near us. a few people had mentioned how we should give it a try and one thursday night a few weeks ago we decided to see what this place was all about... there seems to be some issue with how their orders are taken and how that information gets to the bar because it took going and reminding them about our drinks before we received them. where slowness of service is concerned, it seems like they might be a bit overwhelmed with the size of the space and also balancing their takeaway orders. hopefully once they’re all settled in that problem will go away...

new location but same great food!. we're long time customers of thaiherband were very excited to eat at their new restaurant at harrison last night (25/01/15). love what they've done with the space they have. while to some it may not have the intimacy of the old place, we were delighted with the ambiance. it gave us a feeling of 'modern' thai. as always, the food was sensational. we're big fans of the duck curry and it always appears on our table but this time we thought we'd order straight from the specials menu (with the exception of the pad thai - with extra lemon wedges - which is a family favourite and could not be negotiated away!). the squid was brilliant; hot, spicy and salty. the lamb panang was just devine.

there was one disappointing element to our evening - no john! our kids love having john come to the table, talk to them and generally make us all feel like we're welcome. when we asked "where's john?', we were told that a diner had left very negative feedback about john and his behaviour in the restaurant and he had chosen to spend less time "on the floor". all we can say is that diner clearly hasn't eaten in many restaurants that have a maitre d or 'front of house'. if you're reading this john, ignore the comment of one diner and listen to the comments of your regulars; our family missed you last night as we were hoping to congratulate you (and your wife!) on opening the new restaurant, seeing your smiling face, listen to you tell stories to our kids and making us feel like part of the thaiherbfamily.

highly recommend the thai herb. it's one of our all time favourites!! (...and come back to the floor john!)

i've had dinner at thaiherbtwice, lots of good choices on the menu and the food was excellent.
both times the place was full and had a good family/happy atmosphere.

we've had meals from thaiherbdelivered many times, every time it's by the owner who always comes with a story and a smile. last night we decided to eat in and were not disappointed. the meals were beautifully presented and delicious to eat with the perfect amount of time between courses. as an aside, i had the best lemon, lime and bitters of my life too! the staff were friendly, approachable, knowledgeable about the menu and prompt and the tables, furniture and decor were clean, crisp and homely. the owner came in as we were paying and had a joke and a laugh with us and all in all, it was a wonderful evening out. i will definitely be going back and i have no doubt we will make it our regular restaurant and take family and friends when they're in town. i couldn't recommend this place more.
