terra mia

good pizza good service. i eat lunch there this past week and was very happy with the food and service. i would feel comfortable recommending thisplaceto someone.

we ventured out to this restaurant based on a recent review from the orlando sentinel food critic, who gave it 3 out of 4 stars, which she rarely gives restaurants much over a 2. we waited only about 10 minutes for a table ( theplaceis very small) . the staff and owner were very attentive. we ordered the halibut with asparagus and fettucini and veal parmesan. added on 2 salads and was brought over a nice basket of bread with an oil and balsamic vinegar dipping sauce. the halibut was very good, however a little pricey @ $25.95. the veal was good also, but the sauce was boring as if from a can. my wife makes homemade tomato sauce as well as vodka cream sauce. she always compares hers to theirs at anyplacewe go. she mentioned that the only 2 places we have found with good marinara sauce in the 3 years we have lived in central florida are: pannulo's in winter park, and goodfella's in debary. for some reason, italian restaurants down here seem to tend to " dumb down" the sauce so to speak. other than that, the meals were great and i would recommend it . mabbe next time we will try the " brick oven" pizza !!

a little overrated. i have been wanting to try thisplacefor some time now. with all of the great reviews i was very optimistic.
unfortunately, i was let down.
thisplaceis bustling. nice atmosphere and you can tell it is frequented by the local heathrow crowd. this is a tiny restaurant, so when more than twenty people show up it looks like a huge crowd.
service was welcoming and friendly. however, we felt like the host was hovering over our table (waiting for us to leave to seat the next party, perhaps?)
food was average at best. brick oven pizza 13" was almost flavorless and the crust was very thin, which would be a good thing if it wasn't soggy. chicken parm was good but not highly memorable. bread was ok but a little too chewy. the best part of the meal was the olive oil dip for the bread. that was delicious! calamari was good too but just ok. can get the same thing at any decent pizza place.

the prices were very reasonable.
terra mia has definitely capture the hometown feel so i can see why people like it. but for me the food was not memorable and i will probably stick with my local pizzaplacefor when i'm craving pizza and italian food.

need to also add what an ecellent value this was...5 meals, 2 salads, dessert and two sodas for $80. very reasonably priced for how excellent the food was.

happened upon thisplaceby accident , and read the reviews so we decided to give them a try. it was a thu night and theplacewas packed. although there are not a ton of tables we only waited about 20 min. so worth the wait. let me start off with the salad dressing being delicious and a great balance of vinegar and oil. probably some of the best pizza i have ever had. the thin crust was so flavorful it held its own against the toppings which were top notch themselves. i wish i lived closer to be able to enjoy the food again. i will also add that the service was very friendly and prompt. great job terra mia.

the worst service ever! don't eat there!. terra mia use to be one of my favorite restaurants until tonight. we (father, mother, my 1 year old, and myself) got there around 5:30pm and it took well over a hour to get our food. when we asked to talk to the manager why this was so, he not only called my mother a liar repeatedly, but insisted on arguing with her in public. not once did she raise her voice. when she told him she would not come back again, he continue to yell at her and kept shouting that she is a liar and he had to believe his employees over a customer. honestly! would you like to eat somewhere where that's the customer service. would never suggest thisplaceto anyone! don't eat there!

it's well worth the wait!. when 2009 ended just a couple of weeks ago, i asked my wife how much we had spent at terra mia for the last twelve months? she stated, "you don't want to know!" the prices are excellent and it's a tremendous value for the ambiance and homelike feel you have when waiting for your table, however, when you frequent more than twice a week it will add up! regardless of the spend, terra mia is always worth the wait and the secret is getting out among the locals that this is theplaceto be; no matter what day of the week.

living in heathrow, we had passed the restaurant coming out of the back gate of our neighborhood, and finally tried it on the advice of the local wine store owner in lake mary. it was the best recommendation that we had ever acted on, and soon became friends with the owners, head chef and all the wait staff.

the fried calamari, muscles, chicken parmesan, chicken della rosa, brick oven pizzas, salads and wine selection are fabulous! whatever dessert you choose along with a cup of cafe' americana to top off your meal is a delectable treat. the combination of the cuisine, the locals that frequent, and the infectious personalities of the staff , add up to a relaxed feeling that draws you in and keeps you coming back week after week.

needless to say, we like the place! why are you still sitting here reading my review? grab your wife and kids and go! if it's packed, order a glass of wine, relax, meet a new friend and get ready to experience excellent service and a fabulous meal. don't forget to introduce yourself to that stranger standing next to you, my wife and i love meeting new people. bon apetite.
