poor customer service. i've been to taste several times and enjoyed myself. taste had been a great place to meet friends and to hear comedians andlivejazz. i don't plan to returned after tonight! i along with three friends were waiting for another friend. we had cocktails, ordered food, in other words spending money and enjoying ourselves. we were listening to a band from cincinnati when we were asked to move because the table was reserved. what happened to reserved signs? why did the hostess sit us there? by the time we were asked to move, taste was crowded and the alternate sitting would have been right next to the band. i've never been asked to move...ever. rude treatment. poor customer service. we will not be returning.

classy and relaxing. i stopped in during a trip to central state with our youth camp. i started with an appetizer of collard green egg rolls, and shrimp and grits. both were excellent, and my main course was a four piece fried chicken dinner with sweet potatoes and mac and cheese. dinner meal was solid, but the stars of the show were the opening courses. service was great and thelivejazz band was outstanding. i will definitely return!!!

love it! i always enjoy every visit there! i don'tlivein the city but every time i'm in town it's a must that a friend & i go. it's full of class and the food is fabulous! theliveband gives it a relaxed yet upscale feel to it. never stuffy but very much welcoming. highly suggested in my opinion. ilivein indianapolis & wish we had something similar :)

excellent. i went there on a first date and we had a ball. the food was delicious, thelivebands and entertainers were top notch we didn't want them to stop and the atmosphere was perfect...good environment,,,love the setting makes everyone who comes in seem connected in some sort of fun way...going again next weekend with the girls...

very pleased - elegant and sophisticated. very thankful for this restaurant. first off, the bartender, kevin... wow, what a warm, enduring charming man! he was a great first experience of the restaurant. everyone was pleasant and professional and looked stunning.

they are in chef transition, so you need to be flexible in understanding that all menu items are not available as they make the transition. having said that, there were 6 of us and everyone was pleased with their food. 5 of us very very pleased and one just pleased.

thelivejazz that started at 8 was really a great touch and the volume was perfect to give mood and yet not eclipse conversation. great date venue.

if you aren't on the north or west side of town, i highly encourage you to make the drive. i know i will be headed back to see what great dishes they keep and what the new chef has to wow us with.

crab crayfish artichoke and spinach dip came with some amazing and rather unique bread, all who sampled were a tad jealous of the owner of the dish... the angel hair marsala was a rave hit, i had jerk chicken eggrolls and a fabulous chicken pizza and the tilapia was reported to be excellent as well.

tropical cheesecake was divine and the chocolate mousse was one of the prettiest desserts i have seen in a long time and we almost felt like we needed to leave the owner alone with it, she was in heaven.

it wasn't crowded until about 8 pm, but then things really picked up.

looking for elegance, jazz and good food, then head to taste... they have a great thing going and i wish them many years of success.

fantastic!!!. we have been talking about going to taste probably since it was just a rumor. we finally made the trip last night and it was well worth the wait and the drive. welivein springboro so it was a 20 mile drive for us. we loved it so much we were considering going there for brunch today.

we could not believe what they were able to do with the old applebees building. they did a great job transforming it in to something original and hip. we decided to sit at the bar. the service was top notch. they had a decent wine selection and kevin the bar manager said it is a work in progress. we didn't have any trouble finding something we liked. we started with the caribbean jerk egg rolls. wow. this thing was packed with so much flavor..or taste. chef mark brown came over to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. i love that! we got a chance to discuss his background and get an idea of where he gets his inspiration. our next choice was the buffalo chicken lollipops. these are so far beyond chicken wings...again so much taste. we never got to our planned entree so we will definitely be going back soon to some more amazing selections off of their menu.

we also got an opportunity to speak with one of the owners jason thomas. this guy may be new to the restaurant scene but he has vision and passion for his creation. that trumps experience in my eyes. jason was telling us about the patio that they are about to open. he was excited because the furniture got delivered today. we look forward to relaxing out there when it opens.

around 9:00 they brought inlivemusic. we really enjoyed these guys and ended up staying another couple hours. if you love food, great atmosphere, and fantastic service you have to try taste in trotwood. see you there!

leaves something to be desired.... i have been to taste twice for lunch. a visionary absolutely put the place and the theme together. the atmosphere is classy and beautiful. however- the food leaves something to be desired, as well as the service. both are inconsistant in quality and amateurish in comparison to other eateries that supposedly offer the same experience. i do realize that it is not easy to get an operation going and to realize the full concept immediately but inside sources have made many people aware that current owner/management has little to no restaurant experience and is not open to suggestions from professionals that can bring the complete vision to fruition. i wont be going back again unless there are some changes. ilivein the trotwood area and would love for the restaurant to succeed- they have to set ego aside and want it as much as the area residents do.
