great food. when we are in pensacola for the day, taste of india is always on my mind. we don't often have time to venture off the costco/sam's club path to have an enjoyable lunch. yesterday we had time & our lunch was excellent.

i have been cravingindianfood for a while & it really hit the spot. we ordered a salad chicken chaat, naan, garlic naan, chicken sag, chicken tikka masala & basmati rice. the chicken chaat we had never had before. it was chicken with tomatoes, onions & what tasted like jicama with the most delicious red dressing with a hint of orange. it tasted so good on the naan with some of the mint & tamarind chutney, they brought to the table. the chicken was cooked so moistly in all the dishes & the sauces were spot on. the only problem is i want more & we live a ferry ride & taxi drive away!!

satisfied customer!. great restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere! the food is delicious, and i have to give it up to the owner who knows what he is talking about with his food. i've hadindianfood many times before, and i can say this has been the best experience yet!!! the owner was a great and took the time to recommend dishes to us, the sukha maas and butter chicken are phenomenal. the naan was fresh and hot and the lentil rice cakes were amazing! the service was fantastic and after our meal he came back over and asked if everything went well. the service is great and staff is very customer caring and friendly. i will definitely be back over and over again!

great experience!. we just so happened to fall upon the taste of india and it worked out perfectly. we went in for the buffet lunch and loved it. its a cute mom and pop place, and both owners were very nice people. neither of us are connoisseurs ofindianfood, so she walked us through everything out and let us know when fresh items came out. (which was often) everything was fantastic! we got our fill and the prices are very reasonable. i'd go back again. and if your not too familiar withindianfood yourself i'd recommend to go during lunch so you can try everything.

beyond expectations. went there tonight (dinner is a la carte; lunch is a buffet from what i know) with my girlfriend after reading some good reviews here on urban spoon. after eating my delicious meal, i knew i had to write a review, and my first ever urban spoon review at that - it was that pleasing.

the physical restaurant was small and cozy, with one or two servers working along with the owner. after an american server took mine and my girlfriend's drink orders, the owner came to talk to us, making sure we knew what the food on our menus was all about. the care taken by the owner to see to it that we as guests were accommodated was excellent. the owner was obviously a people person; the way he welcomed us and ensured we made the right order was very pleasant.

being that some patrons will enjoy very spicy food, while others will enjoy the americanized, toned down versions (no spice), the owner makes it his job to ask what you like, and serve to you accordingly.

everything from the portion sizes to the water cups made the experience my bestindianexperience yet.

i'll be going back next time i'm in town.

wonderful atmosphere and buffet. i have found that i can accurately judge the food at anindianrestaurant based on their mint sauce... taste of india had excellent mint sauce. :) went with my husband and 4 month old baby and we were warmly welcomed and served. will go again soon. great deal on the buffet, $21 for 2.

good curry, naan needs help. i went here with my three children for the lunch buffet. we recently returned from japan whereindiancuisine is superb. i was really craving some good curry and naan. i enjoyed almost everything on the buffet. the curry was really good. the chicken was good my kids loved it, tandori chicken was their favorite dish in japan. the rice left something to be desired though, it just wasn't quite the right texture. our hosts where warm and friendly and really kind to the children so thats a major plus. my biggest disappointment was in the naan. the naan brought to our table was small, crispy, and blah. naan, to me, is a big part of anindianmeal. this naan was not up to par, it was really just sad. i will come back, like i said the curry was great, the people were friendly, i just really hope they make some improvement with their naan.

what we've been looking for. we recently moved here and have been exploring restaurants. this place has been the best thus far and vast improvement inindianfood in this town. the menu gives you many options to choose from and the staff was very good at explaining the different dishes. the vegetarian options are excellent along with the tandoor items. the bowls and cups are from india and really gives you that special something you always look for in a restaurant, originality and makes you feel like you are in india. the cook isindianalong with the owners and they are all very helpful. they will come to the tables making sure everything was perfect. not something many places do. we will be going for the buffet as well since we saw the tables and how many options are on it. for the price, i don't think you can beat that. we will definitely make this a restaurant to frequent to.

one of the worst buffet i had ever had in anyindianrestaurant i had eaten. probably knowing how to cook myself didnt help my cause. for the price they charge, it infuriates me to see frozen veggies being used. the food is so worthless, their own employees do not eat there (one of the employee told himself) . the place is just cheating people who want to get a taste ofindianfood, by serving stuff which is not even close to beingindianfood. street vendors in india can offer food which is far more authentic than this place does. their chole masala and aloo curry both taste the same. no one in their right mind use corn in biryani and curries. i was told none of their meat is fresh. utappams need chutney and they serve sauce. tell that to anindianfoodie and he will laugh at your face. for $100 for a family of 7, what we got was just bs. i urge you....do not go to this place. eat a sub or a burger and you will thank your own judgement take this from an indian. there is nothing here that tastes like how it should be. not even the water in their annoyingly wobbling tumblers.

some ups and downs left us with mixed feelings but overall, they're alright, okay.

samosa's were a real treat as was the chana even though it was a good bit spicier, hotter than what we're used to without ordering it that way. asked about adding potato but for whatever reason they were unable to it. garlic naan was meh, something we really look forward too.

on service issues, i think because the ownership sat us and took our order, the other servers and wait staff sort of ignored us not knowing who's table it was leaving us feeling a bit awkward and unattended. well, except for food and the check.

asked for water a few times and went without it for so long it ruined anything about the experience for me. actually had to get up and sort of demand it after realizing how ridiculous it was to be eating onions from theindiansalad to hydrate myself. ack!!

there were enough other fiddly things to prevent me from rounding them up to a four, but a three is okay.

normally! i don't write reviews but after having food there, only hindi word i can use - wahiyaat!!!how can they give tripadvisor award to this restaurant? weekend menu for vegetarian in buffet was cabbage dry, dal & aloo (without removing skin) with full size beans, is itindianmenu!!! no way.... no way it is close toindianfood. only good thing which i like there was plain rice and raita bcoz they cannot be spoiled.reviews should be taken from people who knows what isindiancuisine and food. it was crap food.

life changing. let me start this review off by saying, i used to loatheindianfood. i had been to a few places, tried a few things, and none of it was all too tempting. customer service-wise, this restaurant really knows how to impress. they remember their customers, they give great advice as to what to order, they don't keep you waiting, all the while they don't keep asking if everything is ok. in my honest opinion, good customer service isn't asking every 5 minutes if everything is ok. they should be confident enough to know that it is.

two of my favorite dishes from taste of india include the rogan josh and the lamb vindaloo. if you have a taste for all things spicy you can even get their special ghost pepper sauce on the side. fair warning though, it will make you sweat. i honestly can't say enough great things about this restaurant. if you have a craving for the exotic and the delicious, be sure to stop by. side note, if you like masala chai, they sell the spices on the side, which they mill themselves in house.
