after reading some of the reviews my husband andii were concerned about going to this restaurant. they had just cleared a table when we got there. it was 15 minutes after we had been sitting (eating papadams while holding them in our hands) when we asked, we got napkins and silverware. their mint chutney was amazing! we orderedchickentikka masala and butterchicken- both hot (three chilli peppers by their notation). this was after a long discussion with wait staff on whether it would be hot enough. well, when we got our food, the dishes were mild! my husband thought the flavor of the food was ok, but they just couldn't get the spice level we asked for! we asked them to spice them up. they brought them back and they still tasted mild! we had to ask for red chilli powder and sprinkle it to make the dishes spicy enough. i don't plan on going back.

great food. when we are in pensacola for the day, taste of india is always on my mind. we don't often have time to venture off the costco/sam's club path to have an enjoyable lunch. yesterday we had time & our lunch was excellent.

i have been craving indian food for a while & it really hit the spot. we ordered a saladchickenchaat, naan, garlic naan, chickensag, chickentikka masala & basmati rice. thechickenchaat we had never had before. it waschickenwith tomatoes, onions & what tasted like jicama with the most delicious red dressing with a hint of orange. it tasted so good on the naan with some of the mint & tamarind chutney, they brought to the table. thechickenwas cooked so moistly in all the dishes & the sauces were spot on. the only problem is i want more & we live a ferry ride & taxi drive away!!

satisfied customer!. great restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere! the food is delicious, and i have to give it up to the owner who knows what he is talking about with his food. i've had indian food many times before, and i can say this has been the best experience yet!!! the owner was a great and took the time to recommend dishes to us, the sukha maas and butterchickenare phenomenal. the naan was fresh and hot and the lentil rice cakes were amazing! the service was fantastic and after our meal he came back over and asked if everything went well. the service is great and staff is very customer caring and friendly. i will definitely be back over and over again!

good curry, naan needs help. i went here with my three children for the lunch buffet. we recently returned from japan where indian cuisine is superb. i was really craving some good curry and naan. i enjoyed almost everything on the buffet. the curry was really good. thechickenwas good my kids loved it, tandorichickenwas their favorite dish in japan. the rice left something to be desired though, it just wasn't quite the right texture. our hosts where warm and friendly and really kind to the children so thats a major plus. my biggest disappointment was in the naan. the naan brought to our table was small, crispy, and blah. naan, to me, is a big part of an indian meal. this naan was not up to par, it was really just sad. i will come back, like i said the curry was great, the people were friendly, i just really hope they make some improvement with their naan.

this is probably my favorite place to eat in pensacola! i've been eating here for years, and the food is always amazing. this restaurant is family owned and operated, and you can tell how much they love their customers! i recommend thechickentikka, the coconut curry, and thechickentikka masala especially.

good indian dine out. ordered a veg mulligtwany soup andchickensoup. both were good with exception of coconut flavors in mulligatwany. entree were placed for to go which included saag paneer and for appetizer samosas. food was good non oily.
as a complimentary starter the fried papad was too oily. but the green chutney was really fresh. service was good. ambience quaint indian feel. overall nice experience.

best indian food i've had. we had thechickentikka marsala and thechickenvindaloo with garlic naan. absolutely outstanding flavor, with very high quality meat.reasonable prices, at about $12-14 per dish. very friendly owner as well. i'm in the military and probably my biggest regret about having to move from pensacola will be leaving this place behind! it's by far the best indian cuisine i've ever had.

really delicious indian food, best in the area. i have been to other indian restaurants in the area, one in navarre that's now closed and another one on 9th avenue, i would say taste of india is the best indian food i've had. my wife had thechickentikka, we had garlic naan bread and i had the goat curry extra hot. food portions were very large, great flavor, very spicy and pricing was excellent. owner came out to greet us and was very friendly to us, would definitely recommend for something different in the area, we will definitely be returning.

great indian food. having lunch with my daughter who now lives in pensacola so we eating at many on urbanspoon's selections so today we picked taste of india. my first time to eat indian and it was a buffett so i could sample all since i didn't have a clue if i had to order. the owner realized i was a newbie and greeted us then spend several minutes showing us the buffett and explaining each dish. there were so many things to try it was impossible to sample all but between the two of us we did try almost everything, there is no way to rename what i ate but i can say everything was really really good. different but very good, thechickenin a more orange colored sauce was excellent. i liked the yellow vegetable sauce over rice just to name a few. the owner came to our table and asked how we liked it. he said we must not leave until we tried dessert. i had the mango ice cream...wow was that ever good....it had i think some coconut and also pistachio with mango. this you have to try... my daughter had some hot carrot dessert the owner said takes 16 hours to make..she liked that better than the ice cream but for me the ice cream tops the list.

so if anyone is in pensacola and wants to try indian ..the taste of india should be your choice because the staff are so pleasant and helpful,,it was easy to find many tasty choices. i'm sure their client list has many many repeat customers as i plan to be part of the list next time i'm in pensacola

a perfect place for exquisite indian cuisine. i stopped by at this place for dinner after having a fun day at pensacola beach.
my expectation for indian restaurants is not high from experience. usually, these places are more like typical indian dhaba lacking cleanliness and professionalism .
but, this 'taste of india' completely changed my perception. i was really amazed with the sophistication and cleanliness of the interior. the owner (indian) and servers (american white) greeted professionally. the food was really great. the tandoorichickenwas very tender , moist and aromatic. the biriany was tasty but there is a room for improvement .however, you should not miss the yummy mango ice cream with a pinch of coconut . a cup of indian chayee(tea) at the end will make your dinner a perfect one.

you can make your food mild, medium spicy, american spicy, indian spicy or insane(or something else i cant remember, this is the highest level of spice). i believe this scaling is much better than the scale of 1 to 5.
i highly recommend this place for dine out or lunch.
