taste of asia

the food, thumbs up. the delivery of said food, thumbs down... i am a pretty upbeat and forgiving person but literally you have gotten our order wrong three times in a row!!! that's a deal breaker for me. if you're ordering take-out, go else where.

we have had good service here for years and the food has been good but today my order was delivered missing half the order when i called to ask them where the rest of it was they told me that it would be faster if i drove up there to pick it up even though i had took them well to deliver the order kind of insulting it wasn't until i asked for a refund that they offered to deliver the rest of my order

best ever. i love, love, love this restaurant!!! we have never eaten in, only take out. i love that with the chicken dishes, you can actually tell it is chicken and not some mystery meat! the orange beef, general tsao's and spicy california roll are our family favorites. our delivery person is always so nice! we really enjoy him!

did dinner one evening after attending scarborough fair in waxahachie.

the food is pretty good - at least 3.5+. what is interesting, and makes it higher for me, is that they have reasonably priced appetizers for single diners. it can be so annoying ordering an expensive appetizer portioned for 6 or 8 when you are by yourself. you just know you won't be getting to the entree you ordered. these guys fixed that problem with great appetizers and soups in reasonable sizes for one - and at reasonable prices.

we ordered an egg roll, vegetable tempora, and hot & soup soup.
we ordered asian pecan chicken and schezuan beef entrees. also selected sides of white and fried rice.

each item ordered was well prepared and tasty.

service was excellent and attentive.

the atmosphere is strip mall casual.

i've never had a good experience when ordering take out from either location (alta vista,north beach). the food has always come out rather bland tasting, not fresh, and overcooked meat. it's almost as if they microwave it right before i come and get it. 7420 n beach location is normally mediocre when i've visited during the day and ate inside.. i've been going to sushi nomi lately ,and haven't been disappointed. i like how you actually see the chef preparing the sushi right in front of you.

the sushi was ok, on the bland side but delicious when dipped in the sauce from the general chicken. the entree was great, the fried rice wasnt the best ive ever had but still good. the customer service was excellent and the place seemed very clean

there are a number of taste of asia's around tarrant county.  this one is better than most in both service and food.  from the moment i entered, i was immediately seated and cheerfully given a menu and asked what my beverage preference would be.  my server returned within a minute with my drink and asked if i was ready to order.  i wasn't ready, so she gave me a few extra minutes.  there is no buffet at taste of asia, and their menu is quite large which is surprising for a restaurant of this size.  besides the usual asian plates they also offer sushi rolls.

i decided on the general tso's chicken lunch special which came with steamed rice and an egg roll.  fried rice or brown rice substitution is 50 cents extra.  i did not have to wait long until my lunch arrived.  it was plated very nicely, and was a good size for lunch.  the general tso's chicken had a sweet sauce in line with the normal recipe, but this version actually had a little kick spice-wise.  it seems to me at most places you can't tell the difference between this, the sesame chicken and the orange chicken except that the sesame chicken is covered in the seeds.  flavor is normally all alike.  the flavor here, at least with the g.t. chicken was superb.  the steamed rice was a perfect portion.  i usually never have enough rice.  this was a nice change.  the rice was the sticky steamed kind.

the only misstep was the egg roll which probably was cooked with so many other egg rolls, the oil temperature dropped and resulted in them being soaked in oil.  also there was no hot mustard to be found.  their iced tea was phenomenal.  if you love tea as much as i do you will like theirs.  it has an actual strong tea flavor and is not watered down.

service continued to be great throughout the meal.  my drink was replenished a couple of times and the check and fortune cookie were brought timely.  so all in all i was quite pleased with this taste of asia.

crazy loud... crazy busy... crazy fun to watch.. phone orders on three phones... deliveries and pick ups going in and out... the staff seemed energetic and always busy... got mine to go because i was done for the day. $21 was more than any one man should eat...crazy roll was ok, hot and sour soup was ok... szechuan beef was tremendous!!

here is a more modern review.. this place is nasty. the food is old and slimy*seaweed salad* and not maintained within accurate temperature limits. i wouldn't feed this to a dog. my advice is to avoid this place at all cost.

service great, food always hot and fresh, large servings you won't leave hungry.

it was about the third time i have received a menu on my door from taste of asia and i love asian food, so i finally broke down and decided to try it this evening. it won't beat out my go to asian food spot, but it was not bad. this review is for food and delivery only as i did not go into the restaurant.

egg drop soup- not the best i've had in the area, but still a very respectable variation here at taste of asian. normal thick consistency. not too salty. good amount of cooked egg. recommended.

hawaii roll- california roll with spicy tuna on top. i am not a huge fan of the sushi that i've tried out here except for a couple of places, but this one is the best of this type of sushi from these types of places.

kung pao chicken- not the best. quite bland. no dry hot peppers seen at all.

general tso's chicken- pretty good. it was the nice crunchy consistency on the outside i like. moist interior. great sauce.

in conclusion i think taste of asia is respectable and i would go back again sometime, but it won't take over as my once a week spot.

over priced. decent food, but priced at the cost of great food.

general tsao. way too sweet and only one piece of broccoli, it was good but way over priced for the quality of what you get.

will never go back to this place. very poor service. called my order in for pick up. lady read my order back to me twice. ordered combo pad thai, after picking my order up i didn't get pad thai instead i got combo fried rice. i called them back to make it right. i was told the lady that took the order was gone and nothing they could do about it. i replied "so i get stuck with something i didn't order or want even after having my order read back to me twice and you cannot make this order right. the guy said yes. i said well, i can do something about it and you just lost my business. the guy says "cool" and i hung up. poor service! and i've spent a lot of money in this place too. think i will take my business to a new thai restaurant in crowley from now on. good quality in recent months has also diminished too.

stay away from new location on beach and timberland. we have eaten at the toa at north beach and basswood for several years, always great. the new location on n. beach and timberland unfortunately does not compare. i have tried 4 different sushi rolls and all were terrible. the proportion of meat to rice is ridiculous, and a rip off. we also tried an entree on two different occasions, and the rice was crunchy, and way under cooked. i hate to leave a bad review, but i have given them a fair shot twice now, and i am still disappointed. hopefully they will improve with time, but i will not be dining there again.
