most unpleasant experience. they had run out of cutlery and we had to wait 20mins for them to wash them! staff were unattentive and well hard to flag down. food was average at best. worst of all we didn't receive all our dishes but yet they kept insisting that we had! after much confusion, we just stood up and declared we simply weren't paying for the dishes we didn't receive, paid for the horrible experience and left.

inconsistent- had decent food the first visit, but second time was ruined by painfully slow and indifferent service. dumplings are ok but don't quite reach the heights of din tai fung, strange that they charge for ginger which is normally an included condiment. you get the feeling this restaurant is more interested in making a buck than creating a positive customer experience i'm marking this a one to avoid in future.

keyword fresh, simple, and beautiful dumplings. we have been to this place twice now. i have to say their soup dumplings (xiao-long-bao) are the best i have tasted to date. i would like to describe their dumplings as little parcels or pure pleasure. evenly thin pastry that is just thick enough to hold pork mince and the soup. it was perfectly seasoned with beautiful hint of ginger. served hot like how it should be and was so scrumptious. it was simple, perfect, and absolutely amazing.

we were not too crazy about other dishes. we would recommend poached wonton with chilli oil for people who enjoy a bit of heat and braised salted duck served cold if you are not too cynical about eating cold meat. deep fried chicken pieces with garlic and chilli, though they left pieces of bone in it intentionally, was good. it was fresh, hot, and very moist. we also had a bowl of soup to end the meal, a tad under seasoned, but possibly because we had other flavourful dishes on the table. small soup would be enough to share between 4 people and it only costs $5. finish the meal with hot chinese tea will surely put you to sleep with warm and happy feeling in your tummy.

price-wise, it was affordable and reasonable. the service was fine. they can get really busy during weekend, waiting line and compromised service can be expected. we definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves this little dumplings and fresh chinese food.

really good dumplings and buns. best i've had in brisbane... probably some of the worst service i've seen in any restaurant though. the waiters kept ignoring us blatantly, i had to get up and ask them for stuff. also they charge for tap water (only 30 cents per 500ml) i thought that was rather strange. still i'd go back.

yum! xiao long bao (shanghai soupy dumplings) served all day and night! very nice and you can take them away! no waiting till yum cha rolls around. nice interior, friendly-ish service and quite reasonably priced. good food, generous serves and great menus!

disappointing. this restaurant was a little disappointing for me. the internal fixtures and design of the place took me in, but when i tasted the food, i never wanted to go back again. i had ordered a jellyfish dish and when i tasted it at first, it was like eating salt and sand at the same time. it was so salty and was not washed properly. i gave it back and i got another one, still the same. i ended up trading it with a vegetarian chicken dish. the quantity of the food is very small compared to other asian restaurants.

taste gallery’s novelty appears to be the multicoloured mini xiao long bao. we ordered 8 of them (8 for $12.90), which meant we got to sample one each of each flavour. the different flavours were spinach, purple cabbage, pumpkin and carrot. the skin was delicate and thin and there was plenty of soup inside each dumpling,

i loved this place. the dumplings were little explosions of flavour, the duck noodles were superb and all at a reasonable price. a new sunnybank fave.

ok but nothing special. nothing to rant and rave about... i'd rather yum cha any day of the week... except for the shanghai dumplings, they blew our minds :)

i'll come back once the byo license kicks in and we'll see what happens, but i'm not exactly counting down.

not enough rice, dishes wait for at least 30 mins to come, time interval between each dishes is too long(bet.15-30mins) and some dishes are no longer hot.

it has a nice ambience and looks attractive from outside. however, the service was disappointing. the staff was unsure about the dishes on the menu, we had to wait for half an hour for the food to come and they forgot a dish. we also had to wait for the rice which ran out.overall, the food was mediocre and the service was below average

food was really well done. steamed and fried dumplings maintained the soup within the dumpling still. drunken chicken was a little dry. taro milk tea was very smooth. waiting time for food was very quick. impressive. overall - excellent
