keyword fresh, simple, and beautiful dumplings. we have been to this place twice now. i have to say their soup dumplings (xiao-long-bao) are the best i have tasted to date. i would like to describe their dumplings as little parcels or pure pleasure. evenly thin pastry that is just thick enough to hold pork mince and the soup. it was perfectly seasoned with beautiful hint of ginger. served hot like how it should be and was so scrumptious. it was simple, perfect, and absolutely amazing.
we were not too crazy about other dishes. we would recommend poached wonton with chilli oil for people who enjoy a bit of heat and braised salted duck served cold if you are not too cynical about eating cold meat. deep fried chicken pieces with garlic and chilli, though they left pieces of bone in it intentionally, was good. it was fresh, hot, and very moist. we also had a bowl of soup to end the meal, a tad under seasoned, but possibly because we had other flavourful dishes on the table. small soup would be enough to share between 4 people and it only costs $5. finish the meal with hot chinese tea will surely put you to sleep with warm and happy feeling in your tummy.
price-wise, it was affordable and reasonable. the service was fine. they can get really busy during weekend, waiting line and compromised service can be expected. we definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves this little dumplings and fresh chinese food.
