i went to tangerine last sunday for brunch with a friend. i orders a side pancake with a couple of other items. when the guy brought our food out, i wasn't sure if i had told the waitress to make the pancake gluten free. i asked the server if it was in fact gluten free and he said he would check with the cook to make sure. i told him i have an auto-immune disorder and can't have any gluten. he came back and assured me it was the gluten free pancake. well, it wasn't. by that evening i was feeling some digestive distress and by the next morning i broke out in a psoriasis around my mouth (only something that happens when i eat gluten) and other symptoms. i called to speak with the manager...not to make a stink but to let him know how important it was for the staff to know they have to be careful with gluten for some customers. the manager proceeded to tell me that the servers are young and they aren't always careful. he tries to tell them to pay attention but they don't always listen. there was no accountability from the manager or responsibility for his lack of training his staff. gluten for people with celiac and other auto-immune disorders can reek havoc on their entire body for up to 3 months when they digest it. tangerines is a restaurant who touts themselves as being gluten conscious but if you can't trust what the staff says and the manager has a "shit happens" attitude, then this is not a restaurant to trust.

first off. this place is a brunch spot, not a tangerine that you eat inside of, so don't be fooled by their clever title. the food was good. plenty of options for people who are vegetarians. they offer pesto on a lot of dishes, so come here if that's your jam.

i couldn’t wait to try tangerine, the new breakfast and lunch annex to boulder’s arugula bar e ristorante. with a full and hectic sunday planned, my husband and i arrived early — and hungry. the decor is bright and cheerful, with shades of orange, white and wood tones dominating the decor. furnishings reminiscent of the mod squad set a light-hearted tone. orange ceiling fixtures look like so many illuminated tangerines.   the waitstaff wears brown t-shirts whose backs read “breakfast brunch lunch” in orange letters. tangerine’s breakfast menu is impressive — not because no place else serves eggs

don't bother. wanted a table outside for a cuppa, was told that i could sit at the bar but that tables were reserved for people who were eating. (plenty of empty tables, both inside and out, and no waiting line)

who knows, i might've ordered something, but was so put off, i just left.

i think tangerine is more about profits over people! bad biz practice for boulder, in my opinion (maybe it works in nyc but not here)

(went to website first, but there's no way to comment or contact us. weird.

there are few things in the world i love more than a good brunch. i'm a fan of breakfast foods but my weekday schedule doesn't really provide me with time to enjoy a "balanced breakfast." most days i just shove a banana in my purse and hope for the best. that is why during the weekend (or if you are on vacation and you don't have to wake up by 7am) you can enjoy the wonder that is breakfast. and when i am on vacation i want to eat brunch every damn day to make up for my deficit. at some point during our visit to colorado the idea chicken and waffles came up, at which point i expressed my desire to "put them in my mouth." emo.matt knew just the place- tangerine . tangerine might be the cutest darn breakfast joint i've seen. the decor was modern and light, with just pops of, well... tangerine. the metal chairs were all different colors and i loved the green tile behind the bar. we were lucky enough to get a booth by the window that was drenched in window light.

exellent service and gf friendly. a friend posted news of tangerine of fb two weeks ago and after looking at the menu, i had to try it out. i've been twice in the past week and looking to go for lunch again this week (it's close to work). the staff are upbeat, the colors are fun (tangerine is more than just the name), and the food is really good! add to that their willingness to go the extra mile to take care of their gf customers, and it's already become one of my new faves. i've had the eggs on arugula with speck ham (o.m.g.) and the egg sammy. veggie and gf items are clearly marked on the menu and staff are eager to be of service. don't miss this place!

customer service fail. worst customer service i've received in a long time.

me and 5 other friends wanted to try a new place for brunch. i called the restaurant at 9am and made a reservation. the hostess on the phone took the time, my name, and how many people were in our party.

we arrived at the reserved time and the hostess had no idea what i'm talking about so she goes and gets her manager. apparently there was some other hostess working the phones that morning...

long story short they didn't have our reservation. the owner tells us. "well... we don't have it and its gonna be over and house so what do you want?" this was said in the rudest tone imaginable.

there was no "we are sorry about that, let's see if we can fit you in." they could have thrown some cups of coffee at us and apologized and we would have waited.

instead we walked out.

also won't return. i was so looking forward to the opening of this restaurant, which is within walking distance of my home. one of our party ordered baked eggs, which came raw. they sent it back to the kitchen, reheated it, and brought it back still raw. took it back again. waited another ten minutes. no apology. no offer to change the order and bring something else. no complimentary bowl of fruit or side of bacon while one person waited - and the rest of our party finished their meal. we spoke to a manager, who said he'd look into it and return immediately - and never did! we also spoke to one of the owners, who also seemed pretty casual and unapologetic.

mistakes get made in a new restaurant, but the lack of concern from the staff means they've lost what would have been a very regular customer.

won't return. my wife's order was incorrect twice. i asked for more table water, but it never came. food was overly spiced(basil?) so we couldn't taste what were likely very good ingredients. of the three tables adjacent to us, two of their orders were incorrectly delivered. consequently, the servers spent nealy as much time repeatedly apologizing as serving. portions were adequate, but we each received only one slice of toast with our meals. the three of us finally left, but with disagreeable films on our tongues as lasting reminders not to return. we just moved to the area less than a half mile away from this restaurant, but that's the first and last time. my advice is to try somewhere else.

next to it's parent restaurant arugala, great breakfasts, with an amazing selection of different things to eat.
