so, i've never written a review, and never really planned to, but because tako cheena has "sh*t the proverbial bed" the past and only two times i've been here, i sit here compelled to. first, let me set the record straight. the only thing trendy about this "hipster taco spot" is the pandora ja-rule blasting 24/7.
now, to the food and service. my first venture here resulted in uncooked "asian" hotdogs and overly garnished tacos. as my gf and i debated about which protein was in each taco, i vowed never to come back. but now, desperately hungry on a sunday night, here i am; taco cheena falls flat on its face again. i walked in, waited in a 5 minute line, to find out dine-im's had to wait on a waitress. 10 minutes later, after i had grabbed my own menu, she yells "u ready to order yet"?. i picked the top 4 options, and they all f*ckin sucked. first bite into my hawaiian chicken taco was ice cold. in fact it compared to coors light on the sh*ttiness levels. the rest of the "distinguished" item menus were basically all the same, just a different generic sauce on the bbq. at least this time i could tell the protein type. overall 0-10 and as sad as the sad sign for vday. oh and the payment machine went out as i tried to pay.

tldr. this place blows avoid!!!!

waited last minute to get food on a sunday night and decided to give this a try... absolutely delicious. my brothers and i loved the tacos and my boyfriend couldn't even finish the huge burrito. and the price? perfect. definitely would suggest to anyone who is looking for some good late night eats. it's also just far enough to be out of the way of the majority of tourist foot traffic

i actually really enjoy this place! never had a bad experience, and the food tastes even more amazing after a certain time. i've had half the menu, but have always appreciated their attention to flavoring and portioning. have yet to complain, and don't foresee any negative things happening.

5 out of 5 sprouts there is an explosion of unique and trendy restaurants in orlando.  the city is a well-known mecca of roller coasters and big furry characters but did you know there is hardly a cuisine you can’t find here  take tako cheena for example- a fusion of asian and mexican culture that is popular for business lunches and late-night munchies. the menu is mostly tacos and at $2.80-3.50 a pop, one can really mix and match to customize a unique and flavorful meal.  the most popular choice is the pano crusted cod taco - big lightly fried pieces of fish mixed with cabbage and scallions.  this is not your average fish taco- there is a sweet and sour onion sauce here that adds an asian twist and elevates this taco to superstar status. another popular choice is the thai peanut chicken taco - or in our case- the thai peanut tofu taco .  sauteed tofu with a cilantro cabbage mix and crushed peanuts stuffed into a flour tortilla.  one thing tako cheena does is stuff the tortilla.  it’s

perfect after a late night!. i've never been to a place like tako cheena before. the dishes are unique and extremely flavorful and make for an excellent late night (or early morning!) meal. the few times i've been here it was very early morning and extremely crowded, which really shows how good the food is. the restaurant is small with limited seating but well decorated and the employees are attentive. i've tried several of their dishes, mainly the burritos, and have never been disappointed.

their food fusion is unpredictable and incredibly tasty. the asian braised beef tako was equally fabulous and worth going back for a second visi

average food and subpar service. i really wanted to like this restaurant, interesting food concepts and good location. there are however a myriad of negatives. i waited for over an hour and 20 minutes to get my tako. i should have walked out but the only time i saw the waitress was when she was assuring the table near mine that the food would be ready in about 5 more minutes. when the food was finally done there was hardly an apology for the wait just walking off to hang out with the other 7 employees in the kitchen, (1 for every 2 customers there). after the service and wait you would think the food would have to be amazing to compensate, but the "tako" was bland and couldn't even be compared to tacos from any number of cheap taco chain restaurants. overall it was a horrible experience that i hope some people will make sure they avoid.

nom, nom, nom! yum, yum, yum!!!. i had driven past here a few times. i read a great review about this place. my friends have raved about this place. we go out to eat & forget to go here, but not this time!!!
finally i make it there!! my friends took me here one day when they were off & i was home, but my boyfriend unfortunately missed out. not to worry.... we will certainly be returning!!!
i was told how sizable the takos were so i only got 2. i got the panko crusted cod tako & the thai peanut chicken tako, & a side of the tomatillo & kefir lime leaf sauce cuz it sounded scrumptious (it was!!). the sauces that came on the individual takos were incredible. the cod was my fav. and the thai chicken was yummy too.
my friend got the chinese bbq char siu pork belly tako & he said he's had it before & it was incredible. i will have to try that another time. and i'm looking forward to trying the indian butter chicken burrito, but the cod was & is my fav so it will be hard to beat out. :-)
btw..... please consider bringing back the jarrito sodas, orangina, & mexican coke. they would be awesome. as well as some fresh brewed tea :-)
