ridiculous policy, poor customer service. my wife and i received a gift card to taggart's grill for christmas (2013), and although we had never eaten there, everyone we know said it was a great place for a juicy steak. the only problem is we live 45minutesaway, and our work and family life rarely takes us near morgan.
until tonight (1/29/14).
the food gods placed us within 15minutesof the joint, and the timing couldn't have been better. just a week before i'd had my tonsils removed, so my raging meatlust was at fever pitch at the prospect of *real* solid food.
so we looked up the menu, found what we wanted, and called for takeout; since i was still bedridden and generally reacting to the pain like a teething infant, takeout was our only option.
my wife called, placed our order, and just before hanging up she notified the taggartses that we would be using a (taggart's grill) gift card for payment.
at that point, the evil taggart's staff member told us that they don't accept gift cards as payment for takeout. no exceptions. no discussion. take it or leave it. "it's restaurant policy."
apparently, taggart's grill is okay with taking my family members' money (for the gift card), but they'd prefer not to provide a service in return. they're also okay with losing my business and word-of-mouth advertising, before i ever got the chance to try their grub.
you have been warned.
