delicious. i ordered two tacos, some sweet potato fries, and chips with salsa. first off, the chips andsalsawere amazing! i could barely handle myself around my friends wanting to eat some of my salsa, they almost got their hands slapped. then my tacos came, and they were also too absolutely amazing for me to act like a grown individual at my table. my friends were laughing at me because of the faces i was making while biting in to those tasty tacos. if you can deal with some spice, use the bottle of chipotle sauce in the condiments tray on the table and you won't regret it. will definitely be eating at taco mamacita's again.

no redeeming qualities. mediocre food, high prices, inconsistent service. i've tried about half the tacos, a few of the sides and a couple of the appetizers. nothing stood out and the fact you have to pay for the chips andsalsais crazy. the location is cool but it is form over function from the parking to the crappy booths and tables.

the best part was the 100 scores on their health score tests.

very nice treat. my husband and i parked the car and decided to take a stroll around this old warehouse that had been turned into a shopping/eating complex (nice idea by the way)..there are several shops, a pizzaria and this corner restaurant taco mamacita. we decided to go in and give it a try. it was open, airy and very nice feeling with the decor. the music louder than i like but not too bad. it was crowded on this tuesday at 4pm timeframe but a few diners both inside and on the patio. we opted to eat inside (air conditioning not too cold very comfortable). waitress very friendly and prompt. ordered my usual unsweetened tea with lemon/lime and tony got a bud in a bottle..they do not have any domestic on draft..(thumbs down) but they do have draft just not domestics.
we decided to share some food as usual. he choose a "sloppy jose" taco and i chose "taco royale" and then we opted for blackbean and corn salad, green chili rice and chips with roasted tomato salsa. ..chips andsalsanot free..cost $2.50 higher if you want special salsas..(thumbs down) the beer was $3.50 sort of high during a happy hour timeframe (thumbs down) the special was any 2 tacos and one side for $8.99 and then our extra side was another $2.50 ..not bad on the prices..and my iced tea was $2.00 (only complaint..they put my tea in a red plastic glass..i hate plastic..i want to see my iced tea..i like to see what i drink..)
the taco royale was delicious ..i would order one for myself not to share next time...very good. we both gave it a 10 on our food scale. the sloppy jose not so good, the meat is marinaded in their memphis bbq sauce and too sweet for a taco for us..we gave it 4..but you may like it. my tea was good but again i didn't like my plastic red glass. the black bean corn salad was good, would order again, but my favorite was the green chili rice..it was delicious..not too spicy, not to plain..you will love it!!

minor errors but great potential. i was a little disappointed with the small, simple mistakes that would have made my meal perfect.
the tacos (a vegetarian one and a fish one) and the mangosalsa(served with chips which weren't free) were covered in flat leaf parsley instead of the usual texmex calling for cilantro. this error made my food taste like weird herby chemicals and not taco goodness. second, the tortillas were unheated and stabbed with toothpicks to hold them together, if if they'd just heat the tortillas they wouldn't have fallen apart in my hands.

however my dining mates had some excellent choices. nachos were toasty and had great flavor and the rotisserie chicken was a whole bunch of roasty goodness. i'd come back here and order something other than tacos how's that for irony? also, their sauces and side dips were tasty and well crafted.

skinny margaritas & pico de gallo. enjoyed our skinny margaritas made with spenda last night. service was on the spot, not intrusive, but checked in every so often. for the first time we ordered the pico de gallo instead ofsalsawith chips and that will be our staple at this busy edgehill mexican spot. patio was full and the sounds of people laughing and enjoying good times could be heard throughout the restaurant.

todo bien. i loved everything about this place. the guacamole andsalsawere first rate. the peruvian chicken was the best chicken i've ever eaten . . . absolutely delicious, as were the sweet potato fries and black bean and corn salad. our server was wonderful and the prices were very reasonable. i'll definitely be back!

absolutely impressed. my husband & i are both vegetarians, and we often scope out nashville restaurants to find ones that are vegetarian-friendly.

we have been seriously impressed by the staff of taco mamacita and their knowledge about what is and isn't vegetarian-friendly. all of the sides, except for the turnip greens & charros beans, are vegetarian, are vegetarian, and this restaurant is so fresh that they're able to make almost any taco vegetarian upon request! this has been such a relief to know, because salads get boring after a while!!!

also, the guacamole is absolutely to die-for, as well as the roasted tomato salsa. i'm happy to pay $2.50 for freshsalsaany day, rather than getting freesalsafrom a jar.

all-in-all, we love this restaurant. the food is fresh, the staff is friendly, and they're obviously working hard to adapt to the growing crowd at edgehill village mall.

definitely worth checking out!!! but don't expect a typical mexican restaurant, 'cause taco mamacita is so much more than that!

over priced tex mex. if you want authentic or close to it, don't come here. limited selection of food and beer. had a nice drink menu, but had to order off of a coppied sheet of paper with half the selection crossed out. only pale ale or stout beers.salsaverde was out of the can. pico was ok. very over priced for the quantity you get. service was good.
