best north indian food in town. a true fine dining experience. service was top notch. ravi, the manager has well taken care of small details. i forgot the name of waiter who served us, he made a big difference. we loved their crispy corn, paneerlababdar, ghar wali dal. portion size is good and provides true value for money. would highly recommend!!

we have ordered a lot of times from swagath and the food is perfect everytime but since the last couple of orders we've noticed that thepaneertastes a bit weird. please look into that. also, the momos could use some sort of red chutney instead of the current one. other than that everything is top notch.

the chicken in the biryani was not well cooked. it was like rubber. even the quality of rice // preparation was not even average. total disappointment

thepaneerwas too spicy. horrible experience. i had heard a lot about food @ swagath. spoiled our dinner. pls chuck both these dishes out of your menu. you don’t know how to make these two dishes..

had ordered soya malai chaap, veg manchurian dry, paneer lababdar, dal e swagat along with malabari, laccha and ceylon parantha. firstly the food was not upto the mark..swagath has always been a family favourite but this time it disappointed us a lot. the taste was not upto the mark..manchurian was undercooked. dal andpaneerwere super red in colour andpaneerdid not taste fresh. also would like to mention that ceylon parantha is mentioned as veg when it contains egg and we do not eat egg. would suggest to please mention it in description. overall a very underwhelming experience.

ordered butter chicken, dal makhani, paneerlababdar and malabari paranthas yesterday night. the chicken was so hard that we had to use a knife to cut it, the paranthas were chewy and super thick. the whole experience left such a sad bad mark on our entire family since we’ve always loved swagath’s food so much. we couldn’t believe the food lacked flavours and feel. super let down by the food.

starters: chicken black pepper roast- was excellent, the pepper-iness was amazing. it wasn't too spicy, it was just perfect 5/5

mutton rara boneless: was good. mutton pieces with keema in gravy. went very well with the peas pulao. not so well with the butter naan.4/5

murg tikka labandar: good, but slightly sweet for my liking. tasted quite a bit like butter chicken. 3/5

peas pulao: very good

dal gharwaali: it was a mixture of 4 types of yellow dal. it is their speciality item. and it was perfect in taste, consistency and the account of actual dal. loved it. 4.5/5

dal hyderabadi (dal tadka): tasted good, but could have been thicker with more dal 3.5/5

corn palak: excellent 4.5/5

dal gosht: good, nothing extraordinary. 3.5/5

cold coffee: 3.5/5

virgin pina colada: 4/5

methi murg: 6-7 small boneless chicken pieces in green curry. okay. nothing extraordinary 3/5

bharwapaneertikka: okay, not bad 3.5/5

dahi corn: predominantly dahi only, couldn't find any corn within. it's consistency mimicked that of fish. average. 2.5/5

prawn koilwada(medium): nice, tasted quite nice enough green chutney 4/5

kundapura chicken: a thick chicken curry with pieces of coconut within. average 2/5

neer dosa: ok. an okay change from naan/rice.

garlic naan: excellent 5/5

we ordered dinner takeaway from swagath last night comprising of chilli paneer, half boneless chicken, paneer lababdaar, dal makhani and for breads lal mirchi parontha, garlic naan, malabaari parontha.the food was good except thepaneerlababdaar had minutes gravel (kankar) in them which were encountered on multiple bites.rest of the food was quite fantastic except the packaging seemed like the food came from a dhaba, there was oil dripping from the butter chicken and thepaneerand it leaked from the container into the breads, though the breads were packed in foil paper but the entire unpacking process was quite hideous.a fine indian restaurant such as swagath should pay a little more attention on its packaging in times when majority of restaurant food is being delivered at home.

a fine dining restaurant that is reminiscent of the times when families used to go out for a dinner together. that is not to say that the place is old or ancient. that only means that it is a restaurant that offers you a peaceful, dimly lit, personalized service. the food is well prepared, well presented and fulfilling. the portion sizes are though not as proportionate to the pricing, but nevertheless worth the entire experience one is getting.

i orderedpaneerwith malabari parantha and that is a meal for ages. just have one of those and go home and crash. sometimes one just needs to indulge in such pleasures of food that is simply mentally rewarding for allowing one to let the steam off. my vote for swagath if one needs to go for the option of traditional dine- in experience with family and/or friends.

been coming here since 2004 from what i can remember and i have never been once disappointed. the best north indian food in chandigarh! all the starters especiallypaneerachari, paneermalai tikka, tandoori khumbh, momos are out of this world. on the gravies side -paneerlababdaar, methi malai matar and dal makhani - simply yummylicious. a great place to satisfy your taste buds!!

an all time favourite indian cuisine restaurant. be it north indian or mughlai or south indian, they don't shy away from anything. have a long list of favourites but i'd recommend the chettinad chicken, butter chicken, paneermakhani, and dal makhani. malabar parantha or lehsuni naan go well in breads. ambiance is alright with minimal focus on a theme. wait is long on weekends, so book in advance.
