swagath restaurant & bar

i've been a huge swagath fan for decades now but the quality has depleted to a near zero.chickenbiryani i used to brag about to my friends had 3 tiny chewy pieces!! and the rice tasted raw. likely it's the eid rush but the food was horrible.

infact last week i went dining in 26 and the experience was again not so good as compared to to terrible on delivery.

the chain has gone big and the quality down the drains. not ordering again and will connect with one of the owners myself "r"

really nice place, and gets really really crowded on weekends so plan your visit accordingly.

we ordered a lahorichickentikka, malabari parantha and chettinad pepperchickento go with it, all the dishes were superb in taste, quantity was good enough for two people but the pricing is high.

anyways, still a must try place.

and uncooked.....

total waste of money ,no flavour whatsoever only a mess of onion and tomatoes and ,(quantity) 616₹ for 6 average sized boneless pieces ofchicken(max 150gm)not justified anywhere didn’t
expected this from this kind of fine dine restaurant

thechickenand the onion tomato was not mixed properly and had a very sweet taste. it was like a quick cook. not good

thechickenin the biryani was not well cooked. it was like rubber. even the quality of rice // preparation was not even average. total disappointment

the paneer was too spicy. horrible experience. i had heard a lot about food @ swagath. spoiled our dinner. pls chuck both these dishes out of your menu. you don’t know how to make these two dishes..

ordered 3 portions ofchickensweet corn soup and received 2 portions of veg soup 🙄

ordered dal makhani, butterchickenand naan for the first time after lockdown and was not disappointed. the taste was same and no degradation in quality. the food was tasty as before. was impressed that the boxes were sanitized before dispatching and a sticker was placed on top. dal makhani was yummy and butterchickenwas delicious. the quantity of butterchickenwas generous however portion size of dal makhani was quite small. would want to recommend swagath to improve the portion size. otherwise felt great uniting back with comfort food !

very basic food. flavours are missing in everything. mutton rogan josh,chickenlababdar were horrible. black dal was mediocre. basically not a place one should visit or order food from. plus service is slow, though really does not matter as never visiting this place again. road side dhabas serve better food.

hardly 10chickenshreds were there. was looking more of a vegetable soup than a chicken. disappointing as to what i use to get at the time of dine in. didn’t expected from swagath.

ordered butter chicken, dal makhani, paneer lababdar and malabari paranthas yesterday night. thechickenwas so hard that we had to use a knife to cut it, the paranthas were chewy and super thick. the whole experience left such a sad bad mark on our entire family since we’ve always loved swagath’s food so much. we couldn’t believe the food lacked flavours and feel. super let down by the food.

starters:chickenblack pepper roast- was excellent, the pepper-iness was amazing. it wasn't too spicy, it was just perfect 5/5

mutton rara boneless: was good. mutton pieces with keema in gravy. went very well with the peas pulao. not so well with the butter naan.4/5

murg tikka labandar: good, but slightly sweet for my liking. tasted quite a bit like butter chicken. 3/5

peas pulao: very good

dal gharwaali: it was a mixture of 4 types of yellow dal. it is their speciality item. and it was perfect in taste, consistency and the account of actual dal. loved it. 4.5/5

dal hyderabadi (dal tadka): tasted good, but could have been thicker with more dal 3.5/5

corn palak: excellent 4.5/5

dal gosht: good, nothing extraordinary. 3.5/5

cold coffee: 3.5/5

virgin pina colada: 4/5

methi murg: 6-7 small bonelesschickenpieces in green curry. okay. nothing extraordinary 3/5

bharwa paneer tikka: okay, not bad 3.5/5

dahi corn: predominantly dahi only, couldn't find any corn within. it's consistency mimicked that of fish. average. 2.5/5

prawn koilwada(medium): nice, tasted quite nice enough green chutney 4/5

kundapura chicken: a thickchickencurry with pieces of coconut within. average 2/5

neer dosa: ok. an okay change from naan/rice.

garlic naan: excellent 5/5

we ordered dinner takeaway from swagath last night comprising of chilli paneer,half boneless chicken,paneer lababdaar,dal makhani and for breads lal mirchi parontha,garlic naan,malabaari parontha.the food was good except the paneer lababdaar had minutes gravel (kankar) in them which were encountered on multiple bites.rest of the food was quite fantastic except the packaging seemed like the food came from a dhaba,there was oil dripping from the butterchickenand the paneer and it leaked from the container into the breads, though the breads were packed in foil paper but the entire unpacking process was quite hideous.a fine indian restaurant such as swagath should pay a little more attention on its packaging in times when majority of restaurant food is being delivered at home.

place has good ambience and good food...we had orderedchicken65 and black dal garlic naan and roti was really cooked well and was very delicious..the service was good ... hoping to visit again 😊
