super perros colombian restaurant

yes, it is a colombian restaurant.... ...just like crazy buffet is a chinese restaurant. colombian food, yes, but lots of good stuff that isn't colombian. i took my daughter there recently, on a saturday. it was quiet and uncrowded. service was average, but not bad. the food was good, but not 5 star. this is not a 5 star restaurant, however, and we were very satisfied with our food. don't remember what my daughter had, but my platanos were very good, just the way i like them. our meals came with rice, naturally. white rice is usually somewhat of an afterthought, a blank canvas for your entree. this rice, however, was good! just like my suegra used to make. honestly, i would go back there just for the rice alone.

according to their website , superperroswas started by two colombians selling hotdogs and hamburgers out of a street cart. though they’ve stayed true to those roots, they also serve up some genuine colombian cuisine. their menu (make sure to have your volume all the way up for maximum enjoyment) is extensive, offering a full line of hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as ceviche, parilladas, churrasco and vegetarian options. i don’t think any restaurant has a better location than super perros. at the corner of w. tennessee and ocala, it has better visibility than doak-campbell. flanked by two heavily shaded patios, the inside can best be described as garage sale chic meets latino cafe. they’ve got a couple monitors rotating through different menu options, as well as a tv playing what i assume was colombian soccer. the cooler has beer and a full line of south american soft drinks. bandeja paisa i ordered the bandeja paisa, which must mean “meat plate” in spanish. get a look at it. choriz

our second experience, stopping prior to football game. quick service, good food, fair price. had the paisa perro- large hot dog with shredded, spicy beef and toppings. came w tostonea and was very filling. dining partner had twoperrosw shredded chicken. came with fries (really good). shared an arepa con cheese and beans as an appy--also good. with 2 beers-$30. definitely would come back

stopped by on the wt to a football game. in and out in less than 45 minutes, tried burgers (columbian and mexican), tostonea and potatoes/hot dogs, all good but would pass on the potatoes/hot dogs next time as they were nothing special. reasonable prices, 2 beers, 2 burgers, 2 sides were $30 incl tip. we will be back to try some of the interesting-looking items

simple, great prices. superperrosis a tiny little restraunt, and the parking lot is obnoxiously cramped, as with most parking in tallahassee, but don't let that ruin your meal! the food here is very simple, but it's also very tasty, and inexpensive. i recommend this place for lunch; i've never been there for dinner but i imagine it is very tight (as i said before, tiny place). overall, great experience!

best hotdogs in town!! if you like your hotdog dressed with a ton of toppings, superperroswill not dissapoint
