went with another family tonight. was skeptical of a bar restaurant being kid friendly, butstaffwas great with helping us with seating and getting high chairs. wings were good and my burger (the bandit) was very good. the fries are okay. overall good experience.

free fireball?!. management is terriable!! service is ok depending on who you get. managers andstaffconsumes more fireball shots than they sell a night. super wasted and causing trouble with others?! no worries, thestaffwill get you another shot! when a complaint was made to the manager, the manager not only didn't stop serving the drunk person alcohol but sat around and laughed about it with the person. come to find out, they were friends...so why would the manager stop serving and escort the person out?! great business motto!!

above average pub fare. i don't often dine in lee's summit but i made an exception for mcbrews after seeing some of the photos on urbanspoon. my wife and i went on a friday evening, during happy hour, and had to sit at the bar. we ordered the fried pickles and onion rings for starters. both were excellent, not greasy (as far as fried food goes) and the dipping sauce with the onion rings was quite good. for entrees we ordered the bandit burger, it had bbq sauce, cheddar, bacon, ham and an onion ring. it was messy, not a bad thing, and the combination of the ham and bacon was a delight to a true pork lover. my wife ordered the tequila lime chicken tacos, which she enjoyed but i was less enthused (i was in the mood for burgers). the fries and 'spicy balls' that came as sides with our entrees were generous portions and were above average taste-wise. over the course of our meal we were never left wanting for drinks (a positive of sitting at the bar) and the barstaffwas very friendly and helpful. our bill was a little high for pub food, but that was mostly as a result of quick adult-beverage service (i had a dd) and i still felt our bill was quite reasonable when compared to other establishments down in the city.

best spot in lee's summit. my husband and i love stuey's! some of my favorites things: spicy cheese balls dipped in their awesome ranch dressing...so good. the nachos....my husband says they are the best he's had, and the best value. their happy hour drinks and the best in town. their wings are so good. they have a dart board and lots of other fun bar games. their patio is my favorite place to sit in lee's summit march-november. thestaffis awesome!! emily and justin are always going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. keep up the good work. stuey mcbrew's rocks!!

lee's summit
best place in kansas city. stuey mcbrew's is hands down one of the best restaurants/bars in not only lee's summit, but the entire kansas city metro area. what makes stuey's the "creme de la creme" is the fact that they have a menu that is affordable while at the same time being extremely diverse.

first, a note about their appetizers menu because it is plentiful and filling in it's own right. if you are a first-timer here, then you definitely need to try the spicy balls. imagine if you will, pepper jack cheese rolled into a ball, then breaded and deep fried, served with a side of ranch. folks, it doesn't get much better than that. their newest menu release also includes apps like the "jalapenroll" and "buffaroll". if your new year's resolution was to be just a tad healthier, then you can't go wrong with their "wang chung lettuce wraps". with 14 inspired appetizer options you will have something new to try every time you come back. now for the main course!

while i cannot disagree with other reviewers who mention wings and tacos being a specialty of stuey's, it would be a crime if i overlooked the other delectable menu items. stuey's sports over 30 different burger/sandwich options for your taste buds to delight in. for those who prefer more standard fare like a philly or blackened chicken sandwich, don't fear, stuey's has you covered. where they really shine is in their eclectic burger and sandwich combinations. the "guantanamo" for instance is no ordinary pulled pork sandwich. it comes with ham, pickles and melted cheese on it, but what really gives it a unique flavor is the citrus mustard aioli. a must try for anyone tired of a traditional pulled pork sandwich.

of course, i would be remiss if i didn't mention my personal favorite, which are stuey's wings. over 30 sauces make up the wing menu. you have your choice of traditional (bone in) or boneless wings. while both are phenomenal, i always go for the traditional wings. if you like sauce hot enough to melt your face off, then by all means their "shut-up" sauce is for you. of all the sauces, i have tried roughly 15 different flavors (yes i am there quite a bit). from the blackened tijuana (bacon & parmesan) to the spicy garlic they are all scrumptious. my heart will forever belong to stuey's adobe wings though. while i could try and describe for you what it's like as these wings tickle your taste buds, my words would fall short. once you go there and try them, you will understand exactly what i mean. you can also request your wings to be charred. they will sauce your wings and then throw them on the grill to sear in that flavor.

as far as your favorite drinks go, stuey's has your back. if you prefer mixed drinks, an array of unique combinations awaits you. if you are more of a beer person, they have popular local favorites on tap, such as boulevard wheat and pale ale. throughout the year you will also find varying seasonal drafts.

the atmosphere at stuey's is also second to none. summers are filled with live music on the outdoor back patio on weekends, and during the winter months you can still catch clint martinez or perhaps a karaoke jam going on inside.

before i close this out, i must admit to a stretch of the truth at the beginning of my review. i wrote that what made stuey's the best was the diverse menu and it's affordability. while those are important, what truly makes this the best place in kansas city are the people who work here. from the owners to the kitchenstaff(shout out to the culinary jackasses), bartenders and servers. these people are amazing. they are affable, caring, funny and just plain enjoyable people to be around. when stuey's first opened up i can honestly say i did not know anyone involved with the restaurant. but over the last year and a half i am honored to say i have made some great friends. i'm confident that if you give stuey's a try, you will most likely leave there having made a friend as well.

happy dining -

lee's summit
very surprising gem in lee's summit. i recently moved to the area and this was one of the first places that i started checking out in the area, due to the good reviews i heard from urbanspoon. i was trying to find a new local place to haunt and figured i would give this a go.

i'll jump right to it, the food is dang near amazing. top of the list for me is their baha fish tacos. presentation is great, you get a good portion of food, it is the right mix of cool cabbage and spiciness... i could go on. however i have been there a few times and really enjoy their wings too, sampling quite a few styles of them. they do have a tenancy to be a bit more spicy than i was expecting, but never enough to make me uncomfortable. hey, spice is good anyway.

only problem with this place in my mind is it almost always seems dead to me. i have been told by thestaffthat i just pick bad days, and so maybe that explains it, but it actually seems pretty lonely in there every time i have been.

they have live music some nights, and i haven't caught any of that yet, so thats probably my next goal to experience from this place.

if your in the area i would stop by and check this place out.

lovvve it!. stuey mcbrews is a fantastic establishment and you can tell by the food, service, and the upbeat atmosphere the employees all seem to have! food is not typical bar food at all! that brandon guy is crazy, you wouldn't have to bestafffrom one of the bars downtown ls that does serve sub-par food? that is not the case here at all. as many have said, the tacos and wings are phenomenal, but if you want something else try the 'po boy or southwest salad. i love having the option of grilled, blackened, or fried meat for everything! plus being to pick a side from anything from fries, to coleslaw, to spicy balls, to a salad is wonderful. although seemingly young, thestaffis extremely professional but in a friendly, relaxed way. i'll continue to go back!

right on. the wings and tacos are where i have spent most of my time ordering here. i am working my way through the rest of the menu but wings and tacos keep calling my name. they are different from anything else you will find in town and its easy to tell that a lot of thought has went into providing quality menu items. the food here is amazing and can stand on its own but the atmostphere andstaffis why i keep coming back.

fun and delicious. we stumbled upon this place while walking around downtown lee's summit a few nights ago. i was drawn in by the great music being played on the patio. the bar was clean, staffwas friendly and prompt. this bar has the best patio in lee's summit with plenty of seating a huge outdoor bar (that even has a slab of ice in the middle of the bar to keep your drinks cold). but the food is what will have me coming back. we had the lettuce wraps, coconut shrimp as starters ( all of their menu items had hilarious creative names we spent more time laughing at the names then thinking about what we wanted to eat) and for the entrée's a brewger (amazing) also i tried some wings. now i consider myself to be something of a wing connoisseur and these are the best wings in all of kansas city. i had the barbalo wings (bbq/buffalo) and tried someone else's bacon and cheese wings (yes bacon, yes cheese). this was a long winded review but i cannot even express how blown away by this restaurant i was. i'll try it again and let you know.
