best place in kansas city. stuey mcbrew's is hands down one of the best restaurants/bars in not only lee's summit, but the entire kansas city metro area. what makes stuey's the "creme de la creme" is the fact that they have amenuthat is affordable while at the same time being extremely diverse.

first, a note about their appetizersmenubecause it is plentiful and filling in it's own right. if you are a first-timer here, then you definitely need to try the spicy balls. imagine if you will, pepper jack cheese rolled into a ball, then breaded and deep fried, served with a side of ranch. folks, it doesn't get much better than that. their newestmenurelease also includes apps like the "jalapenroll" and "buffaroll". if your new year's resolution was to be just a tad healthier, then you can't go wrong with their "wang chung lettuce wraps". with 14 inspired appetizer options you will have something new to try every time you come back. now for the main course!

while i cannot disagree with other reviewers who mention wings and tacos being a specialty of stuey's, it would be a crime if i overlooked the other delectablemenuitems. stuey's sports over 30 different burger/sandwich options for your taste buds to delight in. for those who prefer more standard fare like a philly or blackened chicken sandwich, don't fear, stuey's has you covered. where they really shine is in their eclectic burger and sandwich combinations. the "guantanamo" for instance is no ordinary pulled pork sandwich. it comes with ham, pickles and melted cheese on it, but what really gives it a unique flavor is the citrus mustard aioli. a must try for anyone tired of a traditional pulled pork sandwich.

of course, i would be remiss if i didn't mention my personal favorite, which are stuey's wings. over 30 sauces make up the wing menu. you have your choice of traditional (bone in) or boneless wings. while both are phenomenal, i always go for the traditional wings. if you like sauce hot enough to melt your face off, then by all means their "shut-up" sauce is for you. of all the sauces, i have tried roughly 15 different flavors (yes i am there quite a bit). from the blackened tijuana (bacon & parmesan) to the spicy garlic they are all scrumptious. my heart will forever belong to stuey's adobe wings though. while i could try and describe for you what it's like as these wings tickle your taste buds, my words would fall short. once you go there and try them, you will understand exactly what i mean. you can also request your wings to be charred. they will sauce your wings and then throw them on the grill to sear in that flavor.

as far as your favorite drinks go, stuey's has your back. if you prefer mixed drinks, an array of unique combinations awaits you. if you are more of a beer person, they have popular local favorites on tap, such as boulevard wheat and pale ale. throughout the year you will also find varying seasonal drafts.

the atmosphere at stuey's is also second to none. summers are filled with live music on the outdoor back patio on weekends, and during the winter months you can still catch clint martinez or perhaps a karaoke jam going on inside.

before i close this out, i must admit to a stretch of the truth at the beginning of my review. i wrote that what made stuey's the best was the diversemenuand it's affordability. while those are important, what truly makes this the best place in kansas city are the people who work here. from the owners to the kitchen staff (shout out to the culinary jackasses), bartenders and servers. these people are amazing. they are affable, caring, funny and just plain enjoyable people to be around. when stuey's first opened up i can honestly say i did not know anyone involved with the restaurant. but over the last year and a half i am honored to say i have made some great friends. i'm confident that if you give stuey's a try, you will most likely leave there having made a friend as well.

happy dining -

lives up to the reviews!. finally a place you can go and get amazing food! i hate going to a place and getting something that is lame/lifeless or something that i can make better at home. i kept hearing about how terrific stuey's was and i dropped in for dinner. the decor doesn't do the food justice, but don't be put off by it. the service was prompt and attentive, which is my first indication if i will return to an establishment regardless of the food. we had the fried pickles (which i try at every place that has them as i consider myself the fried pickle guru in my neck of the woods) they were the best i have every had. also tried the spicy balls *blush* and followed that up with the fish tacos, which also deserve a nod. i can't wait to visit stuey mcbrews again and give othermenuwares a try!

something for everyone. i really enjoy eating at stueys. i haven't had a badmenuitem yet. they have a great selection of burgers and tacos. service is hit and miss depending on who your server is. seating inside can be a little limited.

i'll give it another try, but not the tacos. i have read the previous reviews and was craving good tacos, so i thought i would take my girlfriend and try this place out. i'm a big fan of downtown lee's summit, and prefer to support these local businesses than the chains. when we walked in, it has more of a bar look and feel than a restaurant, which is fine and doesn't bother me.

when we sat down and looked at the menu, there seems to be a good selection of food to choose from. but there were a few issues with the tacos. first, they are all soft shell. i was hoping for a hard shell. next, you have to order some crazy taco with tons of stuff on it. we were able to order off themenua traditional taco, it just seems wierd you have to special order a regular taco. three good sized soft tacos arrived at our table. they would be enough to fill up most people. however, the taco meat was bland. it tasted like ground beef with no flavor. next time i would probably get chicken wings or a burger and hope they are better.

i like the atmosphere, and our server (i think her name is taylor) was very nice and attentive. i'll come back and have a few beers, but i don't think i'll order the tacos.

right on. the wings and tacos are where i have spent most of my time ordering here. i am working my way through the rest of themenubut wings and tacos keep calling my name. they are different from anything else you will find in town and its easy to tell that a lot of thought has went into providing qualitymenuitems. the food here is amazing and can stand on its own but the atmostphere and staff is why i keep coming back.

fun and delicious. we stumbled upon this place while walking around downtown lee's summit a few nights ago. i was drawn in by the great music being played on the patio. the bar was clean, staff was friendly and prompt. this bar has the best patio in lee's summit with plenty of seating a huge outdoor bar (that even has a slab of ice in the middle of the bar to keep your drinks cold). but the food is what will have me coming back. we had the lettuce wraps, coconut shrimp as starters ( all of theirmenuitems had hilarious creative names we spent more time laughing at the names then thinking about what we wanted to eat) and for the entrée's a brewger (amazing) also i tried some wings. now i consider myself to be something of a wing connoisseur and these are the best wings in all of kansas city. i had the barbalo wings (bbq/buffalo) and tried someone else's bacon and cheese wings (yes bacon, yes cheese). this was a long winded review but i cannot even express how blown away by this restaurant i was. i'll try it again and let you know.
