steve's marina restaurant

never again. we loves coming to this place but the service was horrible. arrived at 7pm and was seated at 7:30. ordered appitizers but they came out 45 min later cold. food wasn't any better. then they messed up the bill. won't go back again.

my husband and i go out to eat often. and when we do we like to enjoy ourselves, have great service, and eat amazing food. this place falls into every category. we always have amazing service and our food is always prepared the way we like it and tastes great. this restaurant is tied for our number one favorite place to eat on the coast. i have never been experience one of those "down days" that most restaurants have when it's "just not hitting the spot" steve's marina is amazing through and through.

food critic for steve's marina. steve has done a nice job with setting the atmosophere for an enjoyable dining experience. on this occasion, i over heard the server talking to some guests about their shrimp and thought...ok lets try it and see what comes out of the kitchen.

the presentation was very nice, but the shrimp was a bit overcooked. i don't know if steve has visited other sea food resturants in the area, expecially on hwy 49, but his prices are almost double to others in the area and not as good. i would recommend steve include hush puppies with his seafood..

i had inquired among the locals for "the" best etouffee in the area and they all recommended steve's. this night their etouffee was not on the menu. i guess i will never know how good it is said to be.

very disappointed!. my wife and i along with another couple went friday night. got there at 7pm. got seated at 7:30 which was expected. waitress was very poor and service took forever. we waited an hour for appetizers, which one didn't come out right away (tuna dip which is served cold and should be quick). after our main dish came out the waitress then brought our soups. we wanted to try the shrimp bisque soup so we didn't send it back. our drinks were refilled once in the two hours we were there (water). after asking the waitress several times when our certain foods (soup, appetizers) would be out she said "should be coming out now". finally our check came. our friends paid cash ($47) and we paid with debit ($75). the waitress swiped my debit card for our friends bill, which was lower. our friends bill was all correct with their cash paid. at this point we were pressed for time and told the waitress about the mix up. she then looked at the bill and requested my debit card again. i asked for the manager. some older lady shows up and after i explained all the aggravation to her, she then says "well the difference is about $28". i told the manager the problems we had is horrible service and y'all are not going to eat the $28 for the waitress's mistakes? she said no so i left $30 cash for the difference and told the manager i will never be back and will go to shaggys instead. also this is about our 6th time coming here and the first time we had poor service. i don't appreciate poor service especially a poor manager so i blame the manager. she should have ate $28! never again.

my daughter and i had dinner here after arriving in the area for a quick vacation. first, let me say that our server, whose name i do not know, was wonderful. she gave us lots of information about where to go and what to do on our trip. just great!
unfortunately the food was awful. basically uneatable. i had fried shrimp that i could not eat and my daughter had snapper covered with a crab gravy which was also terrible.
restaurant was very dirty with many dirty tables and alot of employees horsing around.
i don't see how they stay in business.

we have dined at steve's numerous times since relocating to the mississippi gulf coast a year or so ago and have never been disappointed.  in fact when we have guest in town steve's is quickly becoming our go to spot.  mainly because it is consistent, great greeter, great food, nice menu and attentive well trained staff.

visited steve’s based on a recommendation from a waitress at one of our favorite coast restaurants. no oysters. unless they’re on a poboy. food was good but nothing to go on and on over. no real complaints but not worth going back again.

our experience was nothing less than outstanding! my wife is wheel chair bound. they have an elevator that is air conditioned. great start. the hostess and our waitress, michelle s., were both well spoken, friendly, efficient, and gave just the right amount of attentiveness. the fried green tomatoes topped with crab meat were great! both of our meals were excellent. the view was amazing!

my family and i sat outside to have dinner and the views and the breeze was amazing. they were getting kind of crowded when we got there so service was a little slow - slow to get our drinks and to get the gumbo that came with our po'boys, but we didn't mind too much. the gulf fish po'boy that i had wasn't bad, and the fish itself tasted very good, but the fish was very thin so you couldn't really taste it much in the sandwich itself. the gumbo, though, was amazing. i have had gumbo all up and down the gulf and even new orleans and this gumbo ranks at some of the best that i have had. i look forward to trying more of their menu in future visits to long beach.

arrived around 3:30 in the afternoon for an early dinner, and no one greeted us, even though business was slow. we stood at the hostess stand for about five minutes before anyone acknowledged and seated us. awkward.

hubby and i both ordered fresh catch entrees with pasta. our salads came out first, but only consisted of greens, one slice of cucumber and one grape tomato. i should have asked, but i really expected at least cheese and croutons for this type of restaurant.

the fish tasted fresh and quite good, but a small loaf of french bread with butter would have helped the meal have a touch of class.

one of the few places nearby that's open late. great food. staff is friendly and cheerful. 1/2 gulf fish po-boy and a cup of seafood gumbo for $10 fills you up and doesn't break the bank!

the staff at steve's marina restaurant are very friendly and the atmosphere. i highly recommend the shrimp poboy. that is my favorite menu item. the service was really awesome too. i will be sure to visit whenever i am in long beach.

ordered the blackened tuna, arrived cooked to perfect med rare. my ordered the shrimp diane, the waitress was quick to point out the lunch item. it was half the cost and size, she ate only half as she was full, the wait staff were attentive and all good natured. i wonder if its the staff or the customers attitudes that are the problem ?

can't believe negative reviews. my wife and i have been there several times. service is great, price is reasonable and food from salad dressings to entrees was great. redfish cat island is excellent.

what is wrong with you people?. my husband and i ate lunch at steve's marina 4/17/15 and it was incredible. i had the red snapper and hubby had 1/2 shrimp po-boy and red beans. he had to eat po-boy open faced as there were so many shrimp. i tasted the shrimp and they were excellent, well seasoned and fresh. our waitress talked me into trying the red snapper and i am so glad i took her advice. the dish was outstanding, served with parmesan pasta and salad. we are usually in the long beach area once a month and will most certainly be back......ps, the wait staff was helpful and friendly, attentive without being bothersome......don't change a thing! if you wrote a bad review,,,,,,,i honestly do not know why....
