great star provisions is a cute area, although it's kind of touristy. over all goodfoodand great place to go to. 10/10 thanks a lot for your business

this is a fine specialties shop. the finest of them. it’s fit for chefs like me who need the finest of fine ingredients to appeal to demanding clients and foodies that cook. you demand the same quality. this is the place procure sometimes difficult to find meats, seasonings, cheeses and fish that isn’t for sale in whole foods.  inside the marketplace, yes it is a bit cluttered like a very expensive garage sale,  you will find more than just wares for your dining table and bar.   a proper cheese shop with a proper cheese monger.  beautiful big wheels of dairy cut and sold by weight. a proper butcher where you can get fine fish, kobe beef and venison. proper cured meats hanging in a climate controlled room. bulk containers of what seems like a dozen types of salt to enhance or inspire the raw materials.  dancing goats coffee outpost to enjoy a cup while you browse or buy in bulk to make at home. once you’re done buying your goods head over to the café. fancy a sandwich? salad? pot pie? you got it. communal dining or take out and of course as you’d expect, high prices.  dare i say it’s all worth it. i go out of my way to shop here.  posted july 23, 2012 author stephanie anderson cheesecake factory (buckhead) . a review. of course being buckhead you get bells and whistles the other metro locations do not have: valet parking and two floors. it's buckhead. of course a separate upstairs bar is necessary. in addition to the novel they call afoodmenu there is a substantial and tasty drink menu.  i do like the basics of straight bourbon and gin and tonic but here is a whole host of vacation inspiried drinks. rum and fruit heavy you can escape the city bustle in your mind if only for the 20 minutes it takes to down a mai tai or caribbeann cooler.  your resolve needs to weaken so you order from some place other than the skinnylicious menu and a cocktail is a good way to do it. glamburgers, signatures dishes and salads always put on a good showing. my tried and true at any loc

good food. great place to hang out, new orleans stylefoodwith more of a french feel to it. prices were on point, they wouldn't change menu item to what we wanted. wait was a little longer than avg. over all goodfoodand great place to go to. 8/10

we’ve been to star provisions on many occasions – to pick up cheese or bread or something else – even a perfect anniversary gift one year.  but we had never been there to eat – until today.  heading to a 2:00 gt basketball game, i wanted something different than one of our usual stops, so we headed to westside provision district and found a place in the incredibly crowded parking lot.  in addition to the wine, cheese, meat, seafood and gourmet foods for sale in the grocery, they also servefoodfrom 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. 

the westside is such a target-rich environment forfoodthat i don't often get as far as star provisions. but this was my day to head to the 2 go side of star provisions. i've eaten there on several occasions with great success. and don't worry, they won't chase you out if you try to eat on premises. i went against my usual instincts to try an outstanding tart. the two most obvious tastes, in my opinion, were the egg center and the crust. the egg filling was wonderfully light and fluffy (something i've never managed in my own tarts). the filling also included button mushrooms and two kinds of cheese, both of which were good but subtle. the crust was a truly outstanding contrast to the filling, rich and flaky.

try not to become addicted. so, i had just missed the 2pm cut off to get in line at taqueria del sol and decided okay may as well finally check out star provisions. so glad i did and now i have a new go to. i was rather ravenous today, i ordered 2 sandwiches, a fried chicken breast, and a few pastries. not all to be eaten there at once, but figured while i'm there get some goodfoodto eat for the day. i had the chicken sandwich, with romaine, tomato, bacon and green goddess dressing and the roast beef with romaine, tomato, and horseradish mayo. the sandwiches here are worth every dollar they charge. each bite is perfect! the freshness of their baked breads used for the sandwiches tops it off! that was the best sandwich bread i've had to date, h&f seems like generic brandbread by comparison. when you walk into star provisions, you know instantly that this is a place for those who know how to eat well. this isn't the place for those with non-discerning palates who would just as soon eat a $5 footlong with the same vigor. this is a culinary enlightenment house, in which you realize that how you've been eating before is a lie, a matrix built to turn your wallet into one of these *holds up a battery*. also, because my birthday is in this wonderful holiday ridden month, i waltzed right into their meat and refrigerated section and bout a few grams of black truffle to make some luxurious risotto. this place is fantastic! extremely friendly staff as well.

pricey, but tasty and lots of fun. what a lovely place. the people were very friendly. i saw some reviews that said they were rude, but maybe they got a talking-to. there's a deli area where you can get bread, sandwiches, fritatas, falafels, salads, pizza, etc. then there are a couple of other rooms where you can buy cheese by the pound or meat/salami by the pound. the coffee area's in the back. there are a couple of long tables stuck in the middle of the store and some tables outside. thefoodwas very tasty although the salad was drowning in green goddess dressing. ask for dressing on the side.

less than impressed. my co-worker raved about the delicious sandwiches and fresh breads... but my excitement stopped the minute i ordered my food. the cashier was unplesant and unattentive. she seemed more annoyed than helpful when customers asked her questions. i understand there are times when people are tired, but please don't give me that crap. i go to fastfoodchains for that crap, not a $10 sandwich shop. thirty minutes later, after 2 people behind me got their sandwhiches, i finally received my sandwich. i was upset, of course..i only get an hour lunch break and how long does it really take to make a sandwich? the bread was good but the rest was ok. it was not worth the time, the money, or the congestion on howell mill for this mediocre sandwich and service... the whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth. my advice: find a friendlier sandwich shop that appreciates your business.

fantastic delicious food...not nice staff.. i agree with the review before me...awesome food...horrible staff...especially the manager.
please get some more friendly happy people to work lunch since it is really busy there, thefoodis consistantly delicious and we love to go there...try the meringue cookies, too!!
if you can tolerate the busy chaotic lunch and unfriendly staff, you will really really be in for a treat with the yummy food!

ridicously goodfoodserved by ridicously snobish staff. go and have fun with the staff that thinks they are so elegant and french, when in fact they are just some local people that like the snobish as well. i go there for thefoodonly.

a star. anne quatrano's restaurants are fantastic! :) herfoodis consistently fresh, delicious and cooked to perfection. her emphasis on locally grown and sustainable produce is wonderful and a reflection of a chef who truly cares to serve great tasting meals.

the deserts at star provisions are delicious -- so good, that i have my family bring boxes of them to me in south africa.

always a star. i keep forgeting about star provisions and the spectacular list of goodies that they have prepared and ready to go.

out running around yesterday on the west side, i stopped in to pick up something for dinner. i came away with a nice onion and gruyere tart. boy was this tasty. taken home and heated in my oven for 15 minutes, the crust was flakey and buttery. the tart itself was light and airy, with many sweet onions nicely distributed throughout (i hate big clumps) and a nice cheesy crust on top. for the price (5-6 bucks?), this is take-home gourmet at it's best. i just gotta remember all these great preparedfoodoptions!
