great lunch. went here today and had the shrimp po boy and black eyed pea salad. both were delicious. smores cupcake for dessert was divine. some of the bestbreadi've ever had on a sandwich. staff was fine to me. only complaint is the tea system. snobby restaurants seem to think only backwoods inbred rednecks drink sweet tea. not the case. if i'm paying $15 for lunch i should not have to mix my own tea.

excellent quality!. the quality of the sandwiches are out of this world! i got a falafel pita and my boyfriend got a reuben and both were great! the quality of the ingredients is what makes otherwise normal sandwiches taste even better here! the inside shop is cute and the atmosphere is great. i loved the outdoor seating area and bridge across to more shops. definitely go and give this place a try. oh and the rosemary sea saltbreadwas very yummy!

we’ve been to star provisions on many occasions – to pick up cheese orbreador something else – even a perfect anniversary gift one year.  but we had never been there to eat – until today.  heading to a 2:00 gt basketball game, i wanted something different than one of our usual stops, so we headed to westside provision district and found a place in the incredibly crowded parking lot.  in addition to the wine, cheese, meat, seafood and gourmet foods for sale in the grocery, they also serve food from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.

disappointed. incredible cheese shop, the cured meats are of a quality to be found only in top french delis. 99% the people who work there are warm, welcoming, and experts on all sorts of food, as well as eager to assist you.
unfortunately, for the past couple of months, the baguettes have been dry, hard as a stick, and full of large holes. trying to spread your foie gras on that? not on those slices, because you can't slice thatbreadin the first place: it's only crust and air.
get a new baker, or get him to understand that crusty does not mean rock hard, please!

try not to become addicted. so, i had just missed the 2pm cut off to get in line at taqueria del sol and decided okay may as well finally check out star provisions. so glad i did and now i have a new go to. i was rather ravenous today, i ordered 2 sandwiches, a fried chicken breast, and a few pastries. not all to be eaten there at once, but figured while i'm there get some good food to eat for the day. i had the chicken sandwich, with romaine, tomato, bacon and green goddess dressing and the roast beef with romaine, tomato, and horseradish mayo. the sandwiches here are worth every dollar they charge. each bite is perfect! the freshness of their baked breads used for the sandwiches tops it off! that was the best sandwichbreadi've had to date, h&f seems like generic brandbread by comparison. when you walk into star provisions, you know instantly that this is a place for those who know how to eat well. this isn't the place for those with non-discerning palates who would just as soon eat a $5 footlong with the same vigor. this is a culinary enlightenment house, in which you realize that how you've been eating before is a lie, a matrix built to turn your wallet into one of these *holds up a battery*. also, because my birthday is in this wonderful holiday ridden month, i waltzed right into their meat and refrigerated section and bout a few grams of black truffle to make some luxurious risotto. this place is fantastic! extremely friendly staff as well.

tasty sandwiches. i finally got to stop by here specifically for star provisions (they share the same area with bacchanalia). it was fairly busy for 2 pm on a monday. the staff was very friendly, even after having to deal with a difficult customer.
i ordered the muffaletta since there was only one left, which usually means it's good. i enjoyed it, though i can't vouch for how "authentic" it may be since this was the first muffaletta i've ever had. i liked the olive salad that was on it, the green olives added a nice flavor profile to the sandwich. thebreadwas a little thick, which detracted from the fillings, but it was good bread. i also had some of the fried green tomato sandwich. the tomatoes are coated in cornmeal i believe, and they were very tasty while not being oily or greasy in the slightest bit.
overall, i like star provisions, even if its a little pricier than i'm used too (still fairly reasonable). i'll definitely be back sometime in the future.

burnt toast bakery service - as the first customer in the (open door) star provisions bakery today, i was rudely asked to wait 5 minutes until opening time. i respectfully waited at the corner of the bakery counter. another customer walked in one minute later (4 minutes before opening time) and was immediately served. this customer asked for all of a particular type of fresh baked bread... the baker makes very small quantities daily...that's why we arrive at or before opening time. i asked the sales clerk why she (a) ignored that i was first in line and (2) was selling all of the loafs of one kind ofbreadto the customer who clearly was not first. she rudely said, i'm not the one who asked you to wait. (????). i repeated how rude this was and customer said he had come at 9 a.m. (an hour before opening) and had to wait an hour. that's no reason to put your big butt and mouth ahead of others. manageress, to whom i complained, also could not have cared less that the star provisions bakery staff are the worst trained, did i mention rude, sales staff in atlanta. the baker should be dumbfounded that his otherwise great baking talent is burnt toast before it gets to customers homes.

less than impressed. my co-worker raved about the delicious sandwiches and fresh breads... but my excitement stopped the minute i ordered my food. the cashier was unplesant and unattentive. she seemed more annoyed than helpful when customers asked her questions. i understand there are times when people are tired, but please don't give me that crap. i go to fast food chains for that crap, not a $10 sandwich shop. thirty minutes later, after 2 people behind me got their sandwhiches, i finally received my sandwich. i was upset, of course..i only get an hour lunch break and how long does it really take to make a sandwich? thebreadwas good but the rest was ok. it was not worth the time, the money, or the congestion on howell mill for this mediocre sandwich and service... the whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth. my advice: find a friendlier sandwich shop that appreciates your business.

what a disappointment this was. often regarded as one of the best places in atlanta for a sandwich, star provisions dropped the ball for the tour. thebreadwas pedestrian while the proteins danced back and forth from awesome (aka…shrimp) to huh (soppres
