very good mexican. went here on a friend's suggestion because cali n titos had a line to the car wash. walked right in and got a table immediately, even though it was packed. chips were fresh and warm, salsa was a little better than the average red at most mexican places. didn't get to try the guac or cheese dip, but they looked great as the staff was walking past with them. it took a little while to get the food, but the server came by often to refill our drinks, and it was really busy. i had something that had "bistek" in the title; a beef dish with onions and peppers and was served with beans and rice, pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream and my choice of either corn or flour tortillas (corn were great). it was delicious and had a wonderful flavor. i love c&t but i would definitely hit this place up again.

sr sol is amazing. i'm not sure what "lemon" is talking about, sr sol is by far the best mexican restaurant i've ever been to and definitely the best in athens (i've lived here all my life, so yes i know what i'm talking about). food is always delicious and served quickly and is very authentic. staff are always friendly and polite and i have never had a disappointing experience at either of their locations. sr sol far surpasses la parilla and taqueria del sol in food quality. also their margaritas are incredible! love sr sol

wish there was one in every city!. i came here based on the reviews, and was not disappointed!! the food was fantastic. yes, it is next to a gas station, but to get tasty mexican food like that, i don't care what it's next to. i had three different kinds of tacos, and all were delicious. the rice and beans were good too! i only wish this restaurant was closer to my house so i'd never have to cook again. try sr. sol- you'll love it!

do not ever order delivery from this restaurant. they are the rudest people i have ever dealt with. our food was cold, they overcharged us for food that was not in the bag, and didn’t even try to apologize for the inconvenience. the sr. sol on broad is the best, but this one on talahassee rd is by far the worst restaurant in business. i will never be ordering again from there nor eating there and i suggest you do the same unless you want to be treated worse than the dirt on their shoes.

it's attached to a gas station, but don't let that scare you. it actually some of the best and most authentic mexican food we have found in athens.

best beef tacos in town!!! always great service and the salsa is great! no cutting corners here. if you like a torta, this is the place! my husband and i go at least 3 times a month.

i liked the food until i got a fingernail in my beans. yeah. no.
i was pretty bummed, but then i found other (and better) mexican places in athens.

okay so this is the highest reviewed restaurant in athens on zomato therefore the fiance and i had to try it. first off, it's in the same building as a gas station, not exactly fine dining but we were okay with that. the complimentary chips and salsa were very tasty and they even give you two other sauces to try for no extra charge. we tried the enchiladas, burritos, and nachos. all tasted very good but honestly i have had way better at mexican restaurants in my hometown (pensacola,fl). in our opinion this place is way overrated on zomato. nevertheless, it gets a 4.0 because it is good food at a cheap price.

great delivery!!. i was staying at the howard johnson's and ordered in for dinner, because i wanted to continue working. the food i ordered was delivered in less time than i was quoted and the delivery man was very nice and polite. the food; shrimp tacos, steak tacos chips, salsa, and guacamole were fresh and delicious. there was a generous serving of meat on the tacos and i was also impressed the the obvious care that was taken to prepare and present the food. the fresh limes were the perfect touch. i also was tickled with the smiley faces on top of the guacamole. i wish i lived closer so i could order this more often!!!

the west broad location is the pits compared to tallassee.. took my family of four out tonight to sr. sol on broad and was insulted by what was presented to me to pass as a vegan quesadilla.

the tallassee location loads you up with grilled veggies and extra goodies, whereas the chef here filled the tortilla with three thin tomato slices, about a tablespoonful of spinach, a couple canned mushrooms and a single slice of zucchini...

i was so appalled, i told the server to take it back to the chef and remove it from my bill.

i did not as much as get a visit from the manager asking what was wrong nor what they could do to correct it and win my favor.
i had heard this location was notorious for this type of short changing and lack of concern and witnessed and endured the abuse first hand tonight.

never again.

avoid the west broad location, they do not deserve your business and do not compare to the original in any way.

didnt like the place! the ppl that work work toke forever to bring us the food...we had to keep calling ppl over to our table to ask for more drinks wont see me going back there again

clearly the best in athens!. sr. sol will never cease to amaze you! whether it is the crunchy empanadas with side sauce, fantastic tortas, or just the average americano taco, you will absolutely love anything they serve! their sauces are made fresh and meats are spiced with an amazing flair! you will want to come back day after day to try something different. we prefer the original sr. sol on tallahassee, however the sr. sol on atlanta hwy. has a great atmosphere and the same menu! at both venues, you will always be met with friendly wait staff and never disappointed!

so good.. this is, hands down, my favorite mexican joint in town. the fish tacos are divine, the fajitas are beautifully seasoned, and the house margarita will kick your a** if you aren't careful. the wait staff is diligent and very helpful. also, it's got athens-quirky gas station ambiance. i love it.

great food. my wife and i took our daughter to sr. sol because we had heard good things. the food was great, reasonably prices and well served. we (my wife and i) have eaten there twice since then. it's a great place and i recommend it.

great. this place is like magic. like the kind of magic you wish you could have as a kid. now you can have it. while i have not been to every mexican joint in town, this is my favorite that i have visited. their salsa is pretty awesome, and their mango daquiri is awesome. nom. what i really appreciate about this place is that it has a variety of choices that your typical mexican restaurant avoids--such as tongue and tripe. the food and service is always prompt, so it's always a great choice for when you are in a hurry.
