best mexican ever. the food speaks for itself, it is just awesome! i love the churizo cheese dip! and they deliver!!

mexican waffle house. had heard rave reviews about this place and the food is pretty decent, but i couldn't get over that i felt like i was inside a waffle house or local burger joint. i'm sorry but fajitas should not be cooked side by side with burgers. the smells do not go together. definitely will not be back.

best in athens!. my father's family is from mexico and the steak taco's (mexican style) bring me rt back to my grandmothers kitchen and the flavor is amazing! its nice to have a pc of home in the south... i have tried other establishments in athens and nothing even comes close & they deliver to the west side! love it...% sparkling stars

best mexican food in athens.

might be the best mexican in athens. the tacos and tortas are great, as are the huevos rancheros, but the camarones ala chipotle is the stand out dish on the menu.

good, but not up to the hype. sr. sol is ranked the #1 mexican restaurant in athens, and while it was good, i'm puzzled as to why it is the best.

last night my girlfriend stopped by to see what all the fuss was about, and i left a little disappointed. don't get me wrong - the food was very good. eating at a legitimate place like sr. sol makes you truly question why you ever go to taco bell.

oh, you can get a stale taco with shredded iceburg at taco bell for $2?
i got a real carne asada steak taco at sr. sol for $2 as well.

as far as prices goes. sr. sol wasn't terrible.
the cheese dip was a tad expensive - $5 - and it was by no means better than anything you'd get at willies or moe's.

all in all, the food is good. but it isn't the best. it doesn't merit #1.

the queso was good, but it's better at willies on alps.
the tacos were good, but they're better at cali and titos.
the gordita was good, but they're better at the j&j's flea market. (no joke - if you ever go to j&j's, they have a little mexican food stand. buy a gordita. be sure to grab a napkin for your drool.)

summary - good place. not worth the #1 in athens.

great authentic mexican food for a great price! lunch was packed. go early or late to be assured an immediate table.

don't let the location fool you..... it's some of the best mexican in athens. the waitstaff is wonderful, everything i've had has been delicious.

impressed. i had heard from a friend that this was the best mexican food she had had since moving here from texas. i wasn't expecting too much as it was in a gas station parking lot, but i was so impressed with the food and the service. their guacamole was so fresh, the chips right out of the fryer, and the tacos and quesadillas were great. i also liked their salsa and tomatilla sauce! i give them 2 thumbs up and will be back to feast again!

love. i have yet to find a menu item or server i didn't like. the owners are incredibly nice and the cooks are amazing and fast. i think the location is the only thing that keeps it from being giant, and also probably part of it's charm, but the food brings me back again and again.

new favorite mexican place. i don't know what it is, but this place is awesome. i went for the first time about month ago and have already been back twice. the empanadas are my favorite and the house margaritas are good too.

total surprise!. it was in a gas station parking lot so i was slightly skeptical and parking was a little hard because it was so busy and all the tables were taken so we had to eat outside after if rained. the staff was super friendly greeting us and making sure our table was dry. the cheese dip and salsa was fantastic and the brisket rancharo was so amazing! the chicken enchilada was a little to spicy and it was stuffed with just chicken no veggies. overall service and food were wonderful! edit: i have now been back many times and have gotten a few of my friends hooked also, when i eat mexican food anywhere else i am always disappointed.

gotta try the guacamole dip!!
