spoons cafe

my family and i have gone tospoonscountless times since they first opened. we always have a wonderful experience (even when we sit at the counter). the customer service the waitresses and waiters offer is always superb. the food is delicious. the atmosphere is quaint and the restaurant is always clean.
we enjoy the view of the square when we dine near the windows. location couldn't be better. we haven't gone more than once or twice in the past year as their prices have been creeping up over the years and the new snug restaurant (although a more limited menu) offer better prices.
spoons is also a victim of its enormous popularity as wait times have gotten longer.
but overall its still great restaurant.

wonderful experiece and atmosphere.spoonshas a small town feel to it. the old wood floors and antique food signs on the walls create a warm cozy feel. our server was very prompt, attentive, and funny. when we asked for an extra spoon he joked, "sorry, we used 'em all on decorations." we all laughed. he had several more laughing moments with us. the food was very good. amongst seven us of we tried bagels, omelets, breakfast tacos, yogurt parfaits, and eggs. everyone really enjoyed the food. i will make this place a priority if i am in the area. it's down home country feel is so nice.

this visit and every other visit tospoonscafe has been a pleasant one. we were starving when we arrived and the food really hit the spot. although i would have preferred more deli meat on my club, i though the food was good overall. the service was commendable and our waitress was very friendly. spoonscafe is always a reliable breakfast and lunch destination for me and my family.

i have eaten here several times and loved having breakfast atspoonsgarage. the old garage atmosphere is really nice. french toast and potatoes are to die for.

repeat business. been eating here for years now. food has always been good every time i go there. service can be a little lacking at times but that's no different anywhere these days. the sweet tea is always good unless you get there just before closing. i'd say i almost always get the same thing every time i go there, which is the 'baked spaghetti' and has always been good. it comes with a caesar salad and a piece of toast for $8.95 (drink extra).

many people come late at night or just after eating lunch for a dessert, of which there are plenty to choose from. the chocolate cake can be slightly addictive and i have had many of my family order a full cake multiple times for that very reason.

the location is great, right inside historic downtown mckinney, which is great for a night out with the kids or to bring a date to! on the weekends,spoonswill also have live music playing. usually this is just a solo act but there have been duets and even multiple acts following each other in the times i have been there. even in the texas heat, mid-day, sitting outside is bareable under their canopy.

average. i always want to lovespoonsbut never can say that. so dang cute, decent wait staff, food...meh. not sure what i could recommend to fix the food issue. i never feel like what i am eating is 100% fresh. i would say try it once and then decide if it is your sweet spot.

we love eating at spoons! the breakfast is yummy, and those cupcakes are awesome! however, out of at least a dozen visits to this local favorite, we've had great service just one time. i prefer my breakfasts to last less than 1 1/2 hours. at spoons, it takes so long for our food to arrive that our breakfasts usually take far too long - even when it's not busy. this is why we have avoidedspoonsrecently... a disappointment for my kids in particular.

just had a waffle atspoonsa very nice belgium waffle, but the atmosphere and staff make it really worth the trip.

lived in mckinney for two years and triedspoonsfor the first time today. wish i would have tried it sooner, great food and excellent service.
