tasty!. i had the spinach and goat cheese salad, and the portobella veggie sandwich. both were great! had the loaded tater tots as well. obviously those are delicious!

good stuff. my favorites are the spinach and chevre salad (topped with walnuts, cranberries, and green apples - yum!) and the cubano sandwich. they have great fries and tots! i hear their popcorn is good too, and some of their desserts are to die for. it can get pretty crowded at the usual times, so prepare to wait or get there early.

loved it!. they have a great weekend breakfast. it's kid friendly and has a very courteous and friendly staff with a quirky atmosphere. i am sucker for eggs benedict and they do right by the dish. the hollandaise sauce is almost fluffy and it so buttery. the potatoes were great too. my daughter enjoyed the one egg breakfast with fruit. the virgin mary was also to die for. i think it's the best mary i have ever had even without the alcohol. it was a nice, spicy, kick in the pants to wake you up.

i highly recommend this restaurant.

had a wonderful dinner with my wife. i agree the food is a bit elaborate like the previous comment mentioned, but it is very good. combine the food and great service from sandra and her co-workers and you have a wonderful meal.

ive driven by a few times and always wondered what it taste like. well now i know. the appetizers and drinks were great. service was excellent. main course was horrible. over-cooked burgers and bland cubano sandwich. the fish and chips were cooked perfect but everything else was just not up to par.

not what it once was. quality is on the slide. ordered up the quinoa salad today. have ordered it at least a dozen times over the last couple years. half the usual ingredients and one bite in it’s occurring to me there is zero quinoa. also, zero communication between servers, kitchen, expediters. and management. asked four times to let me pay my bill and go. had to wait about 5 minutes while manager got around to come talk to me with bill in hand. did not ask for manager. did not ask the salad be taken off the bill. when a restaurant attempts to placate me as a customer when i don’t ask my assumption is they have no intent to take me or my comments seriously. what’s to discuss? the kitchen can’t figure out how to put quinoa on a quinoa salad, the expediters don’t check the dish or challenge the kitchen on quality, servers won’t let you just pay the bill and go, and the manager acts like the customer is the problem. the roadhouse used to be the best restaurant in the group. is it going down the same path as sack’s???

we've been to spenard roadhouse several times but stopped going as there really isn't much to be excited about.  the food they offer is a little bit more imaginative than standard bar fare but not much.  each time we have walked out disappointed with paying so much and getting so little quality.  the food was simply unimaginative.  nothing crazy bad just nothing crazy exciting either.  just a place to get decent food.  definitely not a place to take out-of-towners looking for an alaskan food experience.  an example if their fish-n-chips.  it states it is rockfish but it didn't taste like any rockfish i've ever had.  if i had to guess it was cod.  3 tiny chunks of fish on top of the most plain and lifeless fries you've ever had.  only the tarter sauce was worth raving about - thick and rich with lots of flavor.  alas, not enough to make the fish worth ordering.

um, yum!!! everything here was perfect. when i say everything, i mean it! the fun and funky artwork on the walls, the delicious local brews, the scrumptious calamari, to the main dishes! to top it all off, our server was one of the best! thank you spenard roadhouse for a great meal out!

this place is simply yummy. everything taste fresh and the waitresses are always friendly and attentive. busy always and parking is a nightmare but besides from this its one of my favorite locations in anchorage. great brunch and cocktails. devils breakfast is rich whisky drink and warms you up though the alaksan winter. the bacon of the month special was poutine. i was sad only because i couldn't finish it. the calamari is lightly breaded, crunchy and tasted of a creole fish fry dish. the pizza was mushroom truffle and it was exactly as advertised. the mushrooms were earthy and robust and the leeks and creamy dressing were a plus. only complaint was i felt like it was a little lacking in overall depth of flavor. try this place. a staple in anchorage.

this place has the most friendly staff and consistently good food, that it's no wonder it's so popular. if you come during the busiest times, you may have to wait a bit. i don't mind, and enjoy sitting at the bar, so that's fine with me.

we had our first alaskan meal at this place. we were in the downtown area and wanted to have a good brunch. i looked up yelp and realized that there are not many options. spenard roadhouse was listed at #1, so we decided to go there. the restaurant is quite big and busy. we had spicy thai chicken curry, avocado melt sandwich with side tots.the avocado melt sandwich was good, side tots were yummy, but the spicy thai chicken curry was just ok. we used our northern light coupon here and saved a few bucks.

maybe this is just not my type of restaurant. heard good things about it but nothing on the menu looked good and i tried to be simple with a blt and tots and it was a waste of my money unfortunately. not interested in trying this place again what so ever.

it was okay.... beer on tap-fantastic! blackened brussell sprouts-delicious! roasted vegetable crepes were not hot-seemed like they sat and vegetables did not taste roasted. blackened garlic pasta lacked in flavor-was expecting plenty of roasted garlic. seating near bar, a little too cramped. difficult to ignore neibhor's conversations and hear your own. very disappointed after hearing such great reviews.

i tried this place for the first time tonight because my girlfriend and i wanted to go somewhere to have a drink and enjoy the alaska sunshine. she also insisted they have the best calamari in town. she was right. fantastic! we weren't very hungry so we just ordered the calamari and nachos. amazing! she had a bloody mary slightly spicy with cucumber and i had the one with cilantro. i prefer my bloody marys with just a little bit of kick so i preferred the cucumber bloody mary over the bloody mary with cilantro. they were both still delicious. i can't wait to go back and try their cubano and avocado melt or anything else they have on their menu. yum!

mid-day lunch. the service was good with no wait or large crowd. good access, varied menu, tasty food but spendy, 20$/person for lunch (w/o alcohol btw)
