brunch!! i love their biscuits and gravy. the gravy is something out of this world. i don't know what it is but it is amazing. my new favorite breakfast. too bad only on weekends. irish coffee and b&g. priceless.

oh yeah!! love the bar!! love the food, good prices!! friendly staff! good groove. hard to get home without stopping by.

casual dining done right. spenard roadhouse offers comorftable dining. that is to say the menu is all comfort food, all the time.

the food can tilt a little on the greasier, heavy side. so come hongry! the turkey rueben is my fav, but next time i'm going to try the bacon jam burger.

the tots are a fun throwback, and best of all i have always had a good experience with the waitstaff here.

awesome burger!!. had some funky burger with funky greens and was freakin awesome!!...also some bacon chedder french fries...like fries on steriods, was amazingly good...keep forgetting to order from them again but gonna put them in da rotation...

enjoying a cuban sandwhich with tots on the patio on a mild spring day. it's on a busy street but this is the life!

funky atmosphere, interesting food? i'm sold.. i love the spenard roadhouse. it was the very first restaurant my boyfriend took me when i drove into town (phew, what a drive from michigan!), and it continues to be our regular 'fall back' place. though we always want to try out restaurants we haven't tried before, we always seem to fall back on spenard when we head out with friends or just for a drink.

the roadhouse has a definite 'hipster' vibe to it. it's a re-purposed pizza hut (or something) right on 'fast food row', with fantastically funky, tacky, gaudy, awesome decor. the parking lot is always packed, and sometimes difficult to get into and out of (especially in the winter). there is typically a wait for a table (sometimes even at lunch), but there's a really comfortable lounge area with couches and magazines.

the waitstaff have been nothing but attentive and pleasant when i have eaten there (numerous times). they're young, hip, and seem to love their jobs. one time, when i didn't love my soup (i only ate about 3 bites), the server noticed and asked about it (i said it was a little to acid-y for my tastes), he insisted on taking it off the bill. also, the staff are very knowledgeable about their bar and menu.

the menu would definitely be called a fusion. it's interesting and fun, but also includes favorites like tater tots (their specialty!) and bacon. the menu seems to change a lot, but i've never been disappointed. also, the drinks list is extensive and fair-priced.

i'm very happy the spenard roadhouse is here in anchorage, and very close to my apartment. it's a great fall-back, or just if it's a 'i don't feel like cooking let's hit spenard' kind of night. i never regret going to the roadhouse.

overpriced food for a "roadhouse." trying to be trendy but falls flat. never an inviting atmosphere, and consistently slow service. save yourself some $ and make your own super tots at home!

rude "darcy" the bartender. the food was good, especially the blackened halibut. but overshadowed by the rude bartender. this is the first time i`ve remembered a rude persons name. next time i`m getting a table, if there is a next time.

i've been twice. breakfast and lunch. both times were busy. the food was good both times but the service sucked the second time. had to wait ten minutes before our waiter came over and when he finally did he acted like he had no time for us. barely letting us ask questions about the menu before he was off again. some menu items are overpriced too. overall though, not a bad place.

fantastic service, good food. this is one of my favorite spots in town. the service never disappoints, even when their super busy. they have one of the best bars and the best bartenders in town! friendly, knowlegable, and smokin' hot! wether i'm coming in for a lunch with friends or family or just hanging out at the bar this place is my fave.

the calimari is fantastic here unlike anywhere else in town. so tender and delicious. and of course the tots are the bomb but their fries are hit and miss and sometimes old. every month there is a new bacon dish that is garanteed to knock you out with bacony goodness. the food is sometimes inconsistent but 9 times out of 10 its top notch above and beyond.

add it all up service food and style and this place ranks in the top of anchorage!

absolutely delicious. i went 2 nights in a row! great service too. the ahi tuna was the best i've had in anchorage. amazing specials, drinks, appetizers, and desserts. went with large groups both nights, so i tried a variety of dishes. nothing was less than spectacular!

love it!! what's bad about a place that has a bacon of the month? i've been there several times and i cannot complain, the food is great, the booze is great, and the service is excellent. i definitly recommend it.

when it first opened, it was great!! but now they are trying to be upscale, with their prices anyway. also, they are trying to make the food too fancy...don't think i'll be going back again.

what a fun place! bacon jam burger is awesome, love the simple feel and the servers and bar tenders are fun. patience is needed sometimes but that should be the least of anyones complaints cause they look like they work hard.

slightly above average. the server was very friendly and moderately attentive. the food was better than average but not great. i had the curry noodles and ahi tuna. it tasted good but the ahi tuna was a little overcooked for "seared." my husband had the ribeye, which he liked but was not his favorite. we shared the lettuce wraps as an appetizer, which were very good, but we were given skinny romaine lettuce leaves instead of the usual round iceberg so it was a little harder to eat. our drinks were tasty. i would go back again and try something new.

love the calamari, good service. i've been to the spenard roadhouse several times, and the food is consistantly good - the service even better. i've particularly enjoyed the salads and sandwiches.
we had the calamari appetizer yesterday and it is excellent. nice big portion, cut from the squid steaks - lightly breaded and deep fried. comes with a spicy aoli - great for sharing.
also had a burger, big 8oz fresh ground patty that wasn't overcooked, fresh lettuce / tomato. my tater tots seemed just a touch overcooked - but i ate every one - so they couldn't have been too bad.
wife had the basil tomato soup, always good on a winter's day. although we were both filled - she convinced me to split a s'more. i am so glad i did. nice, (super sweet) ending to a good meal.
