spenard roadhouse

maybe this is just not my type of restaurant. heard good things about it but nothing on themenulooked good and i tried to be simple with a blt and tots and it was a waste of my money unfortunately. not interested in trying this place again what so ever.

came in for a sandwich, left with much more! this place is great. it's cocktail selection is the best in town! i had a cuban sandwich with sweet potato tater tots!! what?!?! i was on a lunch break this time so i didn't drink, but i will definitely come back for some whiskey drink later cause there was so much that sounded amazing. it's been awhile since i checked out the barmenuand a lot looks different. thumbs up!

greatmenuoptions.. the bacon jam burger was fabulous! i'll definitely go back because there were so many items on themenuthat i am sure will be just as good.

disappointing. our server was friendly & answered our questions fairly well. firstly, everything is cooked on the grill & the fryers, so if you are allergic to seafood beware. i don't understand why amenuwould make the distinction of gluten-free items but then note they can't guarantee food won't be allergen-free. if you are going to make an offering for allergy sufferers then stand behind it & make sure you won't make someone sick by cross-contamination. otherwise, what's the point?? the salad didn't make it to the table before the meal, which was pretty blah. we love trying new places but can't really see ourselves going back. the food just wasn't good enough to bring us back for more.

my husband and i are regulars and the quality of their keeps getting better. they recently revamped their kidsmenuto include more options for those with food allergies (like my kids!). i've even asked for ingredient lists and our waitress was very accommodating. we love this place!

alaskan inspired cuisine. spenard roadhouse is an eclectic alaskan restaurant, with a healthy variety of delectablemenuchoices. themenuis seasonally adapted to embrace fresh local produce, and it's an excellent opportunity to explore the local veggies with flair. for those that like to try new and different drinks, the sr has something for you. whether it's the mimosa or the best bloody mary in town, made with your choice of house infused vodka, or one of a dozen other delicious different concoctions. breakfast, try eggs bennie benson, a twist on eggs benedict and a hands down winner. small plates are fun to order and share. if you're visiting, this is a must visit. if you live here, what have you been waiting for? it's easy to see why it's a local favorite

mediocrity at its best. the name roadhouse is deceiving. they do not serve steak as a standardmenuitem. i got the special, flat iron steak, and "disappointed" is an understatement. go somewhere else if you want a decent steak because you won't find that here.

the super tots were good... but it's hard to mess up tater tots, cheese and bacon.

interesting, tasty food. every time we go to spenard roadhouse we get something delicious, and most of the time it's also something interesting and inventive. we check the bacon-of-the-month every month, and also check out the sunday evening tv dinners - there is always something new going on. and even without the specials, their standardmenuis wonderful. their cubano is my husband's go-to sandwich, and i love a bunch of their standards. if you are looking for a place that specializes in adding inventive twists to comfort-food classics, look no further.

not impressed. patheticmenuchoices. the food took forever to arrive & when it did it was a disappointment. i do not understand why so many people like this place!

ohemgee salt!. ate in on a so-so busy sunday night and was sadly disappointed. the tv dinner was about the only thing they did right. the special soup, gumbo, was salty and quite spicy (which the waitress was unaware of) and the burger and fries came with a salt crust on the fries. additionally, they don't mention that you need to order burgers "well-done" on the menu, and this one came out on the rare side of medium- maybe it was still frozen.

i guess the atmosphere is ok (if chilly), and they have a decent selection of drinks, but don't go for the food.

too fancy... but ok overall. for a roadhouse style place in spenard, the food is too elaborate. instead of doing standard food really well with a few specialty dishes, the wholemenutries to put a new spin on something. it's not bad; none of the remakes are failures, however there is something to be said for having some solid well known (and well done)menuitems.
worth trying, for sure, just be forewarned this isn't yo' mama's roadhouse.

upscale comfort food. from what i understand spenard roadhouse is part of a jointly owned threesome of restaurants that includes snow city cafe and sacks cafe. all three are good. spenard's serves high end comfort food. they have great simple plates like grilled cheese and burgers (served with their trademarked tater tots instead of fries), and also more dinner-like dishes like short rib meatloaf with creamed kale and wild salmon & rice. themenuis adventurous enough to include quinoa, and despite the comfort food angle has a surprising amount of heathy, veggie-centric fare that's fresh and delicious.

the bar boasts an impressive list of whiskey & beer and is a great place to have drinks before dinner. definitely worth a visit.

from ho-hum to yum yum!!. when spenard roadhouse initially opened, the food was nothing to write home (or urbanspoon) about. over the past couple of years they have definitely made major needed changes and are now a popular local diner. the roadhouse has a variedmenuof items such as jambalaya, pasta dishes, fish tacos, assorted sandwiches, delicious flame-broiled burgers, etc. kudos to spenard roadhouse for transforming itself into a popular local diner!!

go there for breakfast. i really want to like the spenard roadhose at lunch and dinner but i think for the purpose of those meals i just don't like themenuselections - but you might. i have always been underwhelmed but then i tried them for breakfast and i can finally say i really like spenard roadhouse. try the eggs benny benson -fantastic. the service is good and the place is spotless.

love the bar and those that tend it.. shawna and orion are my favorite bartenders! they make wonderful cocktails and are great at helping me find new beers when i get stuck in a beer rut.
the brunchmenuis fantastic and i get a kick out of the tv dinners served on a little metal tray.

casual dining done right. spenard roadhouse offers comorftable dining. that is to say themenuis all comfort food, all the time.

the food can tilt a little on the greasier, heavy side. so come hongry! the turkey rueben is my fav, but next time i'm going to try the bacon jam burger.

the tots are a fun throwback, and best of all i have always had a good experience with the waitstaff here.
