soy soi

i visited this restaurant before lockdown. and food wasamazingas asual service was. we ordered for tom yum, pulled jackfruit bao and a maincourse and dessert and everything was up to mark.

after so many months of failed plans to visit soy soi, i finally managed to go here for dinner in feb after work, with a friend.
its very spacious and the decor is not overdone and also sticking to the their overall theme of the restaurant. loved their wall of colorful ramen/soup bowls. since i reached the place early and it was mid-weekday it was fairly empty and i spent nearly 15 mins walking around the place soaking up all their lovely decor pieces.
coming to their food and drinks. i so loved their milo shake. i was apprehensive to try one of their mojitos (green apple and ginger) just because of the ginger in it but the waiter assured that it would good and the taste of ginger will be very mild only. and true to his words it was very mild and the drink was so refreshing at every sip.
we tried their pork satay after so many recommendations from friends who've been here and boy was i not disappointed. i could've easily gobbled up 2 plates of the dish and i still wouldn't have gotten over it. it tasted so good, so perfectly made. the meat and fat were well balanced and so well cooked. the accompanying dip was delicious on its own that once i finished the pork i made sure the dip was also fully emptied.
their crab and prawn momos were so well made. it was juicy and retained the flavors of the meat so well.
tried their pork ramen and it was one of the best in the city. the portions can easily suffice 2 people after having starters. the broth was so full of flavors and the meat was so tender to the bite. its as authentic as one can get here in any other japanese restaurants in chennai.
the servicing was prompt except for one tiny hiccup where they forgot the ramen order that ended up getting delayed. otherwise it was anamazingdinner experience at soy soi.

to start off, we absolutely loved the ambience and service by mr. muksidul. service especially was excellent. we had more of the sushi, especially the salmon and ebi maki. we absolutely loved it. the truffle and edamame dumplings were to die for. the ribs were some of the best i've had in chennai. and the lotus stem and phad thai were excellent. overall, it was anamazingexperience and i will definitely recommend it. i'll be coming back soon too.

soy soi is the epitome of oriental cuisine at chennai. it's your one stop to have anamazinggastrointestinal experience of the highest order.

it's a combination of stunning ambience, courteous staff , andamazingfood.
the yasai tempura maki is one of the best sushi dishes to try. the crispy salmon maki is fairly good too. chopsticks are complimentary.
the chili pan mee veg large plate is a must try as well!

quantity was better than expected and definitely does a good job of filling you up.

cannot recommend this place enough. a must visit in chennai.

we had a lovely experience. it was just before the lockdown, so we could cherish the food.
we had someamazingdishes and wonderful ambience and service.
just a small miss on the dessert, though it was traditional dessert, it tasted like any other cheese cake and chocolate bomb was okay.

10/10 for thisamazingplace. best chinese asian food i’ve ever had in chennai. pork bao and sen yai phad kheemao was absolutely perfectly good and to end it their japanese cheesecake made our taste buds go partay. they followed all safety procedures and service was great.

wanting to go here for a long time! made new year the best time to go in. this place is always packed- always packed with people, good food and quality was amazing. just a little let down by the vietnamese ginger chicken, but the others wereamazing😻 thanks for the good food to start my new year ❤️

i had ordered the red curry , basil chicken and lamb for delivery. the food tastedamazingas always . however the packaging was not upto the mark . the red curry box was open by the time it arrived ( poor sealing ) and leaked all over . i would appreciate if you could explore better packaging for the curry etc . the other two dishes were packed well in the airtight black boxes .
however the food quality has always been consistent and tasted good .

a vegetarian's review! loved the place andamazingambience and very vibrant. open kitchen where you can walk around and see how everything is prepared. my son enjoyed this a lot.

the taste of every item was very flavourful and authentic. we ordered the following:

1. tom yum veg soup - broth type with veg pieces of broccoli lemongrass carrot ginger spring onion and such - very flavourful and yum. quantity for 1/2 was less than other restaurants. but sufficient for a start. this tom yum was not the soy type and very light

2. jackfruit bao - felt it's a bit costly for the two pieces of bao but filling was unique. more of caremelised jackfruit and onion and you could smell the jackfruit. soft bao and tasty.

3. crispy lotus stem with onion tomato etc - quantity was sufficient for 3 and tasty. other restos offer honey lotus crisps and this was a chat/salad type and tasty

4. sen yen phad - i came to this resto for this looking for what i had once in melbourne. the smoky tasty was sooo wooww but could have been saucier. sufficient quantity for 2/3 and the noodles were damn thin and felt like made there.

5. kapi koritan - flavourful and coconut based and very tasty with jasmine rice.

6. soy soi sphere - regret choosing this for rs 425 as it was not worth the theatre effect of choc ball melting. was more like cereal with melted chocolate. ice cream quantity was less and taste can't be indentifief with all that chocolate. won't suggest

7. ginger honey ice cream - tasted like ginger but very less honey - add on honey can be served. just ok.

overall bill came to 2500 (we asked to exclude service charge) and was reasonable for the quality of ingredients and ambience.

covid precautions were also well taken care and digital dining was superb.

its quite difficult to find a restaurant during covid times. i appreciate the safety and sanitization taken by the restaurant. though the part of menu was removed in comparison to what seen in zomato menu, the food wasamazingloved the dimsums and the sauces. nasi goreng indonesian style wasamazingwith the sambal, sushi was kind of ok ok not a big fan and found tom yum soup kind of sour and the dessert soy soi special it was simply amazing. the quality and the quantity were very good. its totally worth the risk in the covid situation. its one of the best for south east asian food

trust me i’m not much into #asiancuisine the love of our wide spread indian cuisine has fit me stuck it. but @soysoiindia happens to be the only place has my heart and tummy filled with goodness.

in plate haianese chicken rice & graphaw kai dao one of the famous #bangkokstreetfood , steamed jasmine rice with chicken 🐓 chestnut 🌰 hot basil 🌿 topped with sunny side up. such a super spicy and delicious dish this was, that i am willing to visit multiple time just for this dish 🤤🤤
