really disappointed with this place. have been wanting to go here for so long, finally made a booking for brunch yesterday morning - despite being told there were no reservations then finding some online..! with the reservation we were told we had an hour and a half slot which was fine as we weren't planning on staying much longer. i ordered the french toast which berries and maple syrup - had to ask the waitress for the maple syrup which just came in a squeezy bottle you can buy in the shop. was nice but nothing to shout about! my friend went for the blueberry pancakes and we both got apple juice - must have been freshly squeezed as they were different colours and tastes quite different!foodcame quick and we were quite satisfied until the waitresses started trying to lift our glasses from the table when they were still half full? this started about 40 minutes into the 90 minute slot with plenty of free tables around us - at least 6 that i could see. eventually they handed us the bill with 15 minutes to go. would not go back here despite the really fab view of the city, i don't like to be pushed out of a place that's not even full. maybe i just had a bad experience as other reviews have been a lot better!!

we went there for brunch which is something i love. the best of this place is the view and it makes the experience much better. but serve me the samefoodin an ordinary restaurant and i don't think it'd be as popular.

i wanted to go try it since some time and i finally was able to do so a week ago. the ambiance is nice but thefoodis a bit overrated. i had the rocket and sun-dried tomato pizza, it barely had cheese. it tastes ok but not as expected

i've been to sophie's a few times for lunch. i always find thefoodreally nice and the staff very friendly. this time i got the salmon with an avocado salad on the side and panna cotta for dessert. both were fab! possibly the best panna cotta i have ever had!! it's a little pricey for a work lunch but a great occasion place to go.

if i'm being honest i'd never heard of this little treasure before last tuesday but i hear it's been open since late 2015.

the dining room is beautifully designed, comfortable but sleek, set on the fifth floor of the dean hotel with panoramic views over dublin city.

the maitre d' was brilliant and very accommodating to our three adults, three babies group.

thefoodchoices themselves were refreshing with some really interesting combinations. poached hens egg, polenta and basil hollandaise for one. i, myself had the chicken and chorizo pappardelle with spring onions. it was deliciously creamy with a little hum of spice.

the dessert i chose was the panna cotta which was lacking in depth of flavour and wasn't quite as creamy as i hoped but the honeycomb on top was a smart addition.

with such a calming ambience and deliciousfoodit really is a wonderful spot for a proper lunch out.

i came here on a sunday afternoon, since we hadn't made a booking we were offered bar-type seats which were perfect. room was slightly cold but maybe this was to add to the "rooftop" feel.

the service was very friendly and thefoodwas delicious, i had the blueberry pancakes, they came with orange butter, bacon and mixed berries. i am getting hungry just thinking about them.

my boyfriend had the full irish breakfast which he said was excellent. coffee was nice if a bit lukewarm.

prices are very reasonable, €8 or €9 for the pancakes, and i was stuffed afterwards! will definitely return.

you can't deny that the atmosphere in sophie's is fantastic. the views of dublin city are stunning. we visited here on a sunny sunday for brunch. i was left feeling slightly under whelmed. i ordered the rotisserie chicken with slaw and fries. the coleslaw was clearly shop bought. we had a fruit bowl on the side, which consisted of one blueberry, one raspberry and a whole lot of melon. disappointing. in future, i will just go to sophie's for cocktails and steer clear from thefoodmenu.

love sophie's, have been several times and always enjoy thefoodand atmosphere. on our last visit we sat out on the terrace for lunch on quite a cold day and it was actually lovely as they have great heaters. inside was full so done rule out sitting outside if there is space. cocktails are also very good. can't wait to visit again soon.

came here last weekend to celebrate an anniversary and luckily the weather provided some superb views of dublin from the rooftop bar! the layout and seating arrangement in the rooftop bar is nice and spacious and creates a great atmosphere as you can have a good look around at everything that's going on!unfortunately got seated right under the speaker so that was a little irritating... the menu was unsurprising but still offered a good variety. we both ordered the ginger/carrot juice which was so refreshing and tasty.foodwise i choose the huevos rancheros with eggs, chorizo, pinto beans and guac, i also ordered the crispy baby potatoes (couldn't resist!). everything was delicious, the dish was very well present in a skillet and super filling for a brunch meal. my boyfriend order the full irish which also looked delish. overall thefoodwas great, speedy friendly service and great value. next visit will hopefully be back for some cocktails!

i adore sophies for a drink and a chat with friends, however i feel it really falls short on food.
having popped in a good few times for drinks, i decided to head in for dinner. i had read so much about sophies and went in with such high expectations, that was my first mistake.
while the views and atmosphere are like no other, thefoodwasn't what i expected from such a venue.
we ordered the italian antipasti board to start. it was nice but nothing you could find in any italian in dublin. although an antipasti board is and antipasti board anywhere you go.
for mains, i tried the pizza as i had heard so much about them and himself tried the steak. two very simple dishes that are very hard to get wrong.
when they arrived the steak was more blue than a medium rare, they quickly rectified this however upon its return it was still very much on the rare side. as we were hungry we didn't ask again. my pizza was unfortunately a little soggy in the middle, definitely not what you want in a pizza. even the taste was very average and not the high standard i had been made believe was there.

i've given it 3.5 purely because of the atmosphere and the venue for drinks out. i will definitely be heading back for a night out with friends or a couples drinks pre dinner, however i will leave thefoodnext time. so disappointing.

fantastic view of all the city - perfect for brunch/ breakfast/ dinner or lunch and or a special occassion.
went here with two of the girls for our christmas lunch two days before christmas and really enjoyed it.
the service, foodand over experience was lovely. only down side was the 1.15 hour slot given for lunch. we decided on two courses and ive no problem with tables being overturned due to the busy period - but thefoodmust come out at that speed also. its not very pleasent to be told halfway through your first course that you have 15 minutes left to order dessert and eat it.
however- it was christmas, and nonetheless i thoroughly enjoyed thefoodand the ambiance.
will definitely be back for their brunch it looks incredible!

i have only been to sophie's for drinks so cant comment on the food, however i have heard the pizzas are divine. the venue is amazing and a great little gem in dublin city centre. the staff were very friendly and very quick service on a busy saturday night. i must return to try thefoodand take another look at the view!

this rooftop bar is very trendy at the moment and booking is advised. the cocktails all look amazing and thefoodpresentation as well. the eggs benedict with the hollandaise sauce were divine and a decorated latte took me to heaven and back. a complete brunch experience!
