really love the food here. somerville thai provide their customers with tasty dishes that are sure to impress.serviceprovided by staff here could definitely improve and the staff are not always friendly or welcoming, but the quality of the food definitely outweighs this. i recommend the pad see ew.

great food. an absolutely great meal with an abundance of fresh and vibrant flavours with a very reasonable price tag.serviceis young but hospitable. highly recommend.

terrible! we attempted to have a family dinner here last night and the customerservicewas horrible. we had 4 mini wine bottles (equivalent to one big bottle) and they were going to charge us $4 per bottle to open them. after an extremely rude waitress argued with us about it her even ruder manager came out arguing with us in a terrible way. all 6 of us left and had dinner somewhere else and we will never be back.

very average thai meal. ordered pad thai, very basic meal but lacked some essentials in such a traditional dish and the penang curry was nice in terms of the sauce but the beef was like an old boot. noise was unbearable and difficult to communicate with my spouse due to such. have been here before on multiple occasions with family and friends and we have experienced the same ordinary thai food and noise and will not be back or recommend. appreciate saturday nights may be hard toservicebut if you advertise your goods and don't deliver then time to move on

my favourite thai restaurant on the peninsula. the food is always outstanding with a large range of dishes to choose from.serviceis great too! a little gem hidden away in somerville, highly recommend!!

food is amazing looks and smells incredible, it just melts in your mouth and so impressed with the customerservice! such a clean environment in the restaurant.

what beautiful food! everything was fresh and flavours were wow! just what you look for in good thai food. staff were clearly busy andservicewasn't amazing, however it was quick and got the job done. food would definitely bring me back, just don't forget to book!

went to somerville thai after hearing a lot of good reports about the food. not to be disappointed. the food was great,servicewas great. the only criticisms i have are that it is a very noisy place where it's difficult to talk amongst friends. but secondly, the on-line menu is very deceptive and should be addressed. it is out of date and courses are on average $4.00 more.  even the menus at the counter are out of date. not good. however, we'll go again for sure, probably at a later time to avoid the noise of a full restaurant.

death stares from your waitress. tonight we decided that cooking was just too much effort, its sunday why not just go down to the local thai, a place we have been going to for quite a few years now, but can officially say that after tonight's awfulservicewe will not be going back ever again.
the restaurant was relatively empty, but still it took them over 10 minutes to even come over and get a drink order. a young petite blonde waitress with a lot of attitude finally came over to take our order, when we asked for one curries to be medium she looked at us as though we were speaking another language and rolled her eyes. i asked to taste one of the wines on the menu before i committed to a glass but got told that they will only let me taste it if i buy the bottle so i settled with water instead. when the food came out she slammed the meals on the table almost breaking one of the plates and when we said the rice was lukewarm we got another nasty look before she took it back to the kitchen. the whole time we were eating she was giving us nasty looks as if to say "can you hurry up and leave i just want to go home" so i guess from now on we will make the trip to mornington for thai instead

somerville thai. we have been to this restaurant many times over the last 3 years and the food id delicious, theserviceexcellent and fast. every meal is different...not like it is at some restaurants where you get the distinct feeling they make 2 sauces and put that on everything.
it is rare to see a restaurant that is busy even on week nights but it is . despite sometimes having about 80 people at tables, you still get your meal within about 10-15 mins of ordering.

i am a thai lover so it was great anticipation that we went to "summie" thai. i regularly order a green curry prawns so i can accurately compare. i can safely say it was exceptional with a world record 10 king prawns. the balance of kafier lime and curry flavour was spot on. at $20 it was very well priced.
theservicewas pleasant but as mentioned by others , is only occasional.
it's a large restaurant and had 52 seated when we ate so they may have been a bit understaffed.
i'll definitely be back. its right up there with the lighthouse cafe in mcrae and uthong thai in mornington

great food!. we are regular diners at this thai...as reviewers say-yes it can get noisy and is very busy with take away etc. theservicewe have had has always been fine...quick, polite and what you would expect from any good local restaurant. the food is lovely...presentation is wonderful! my favorite dish is their chicken or beef satay which has loads of colorful veggies in it too. overall a lovely local restaurant

have been a couple of times. pretty good food at a good price.serviceis fine. nothing overly special, but probably the best thai in the area.

made welcome at the door and shown to our table. ordered drinks and then food. drinks brought out oand everything is going swimmingly. first drink finished but staff not watching table to replenish drinks even though not busy, fantastic food but you have to tackle a waiter to get second and third drink. twice visited same service. shameservicedoesn't match excellent food.
