great. the best shrimp and burgers we ever had. breaded redfish also very good. we (tourists) were told frenchmen st. is where the locals go for live music and food. much less crowded (and less tawdry) than bourbon st. no sleaze here.

good. a cleaner venue and a better burger than the much vaunted
port of call.

the music was great as was the service. there was nothing wrong with the food per se, but i thought i was kind of pedestrian for new orleans. this place is kind of off the beaten path which is nice, but i don't think we would go back.

third time is a charm. was in no for a little r&r recently. i wanted to try the marigny for dinner on friday night.

went to "three muses", too noisey to enjoy conversation at dinner and the menu wasn't what i was in the mood for.

next we stoped at pralene connection. after being seated, we waited for someone to come back but after 15 minutes of being ignored, we decided they weren't interested in our business.

our third stop was snug harbor. we were seated right away and our waitress was very attentive. the dining room was busy but the kitchen seemed to be on top of things because we got our food timely.

i had the ribeye, i was in a red-meat mood by now. the steak was cooked just the way i ordered it. my friend got chicken and from the look of his plate, it was good.

this will definately be on my repeat list.

great jazz. mediocre food.. this is our absolutely favorite jazz venue in new orleans. it doesn't matter who's playing when we're in town. once we arrive in nola, we call ahead for tickets and have yet to be dissapointed any night of the week. go to snug harbor for the music. the food is just ok (maybe a little overpriced for quality). it is fine in a pinch if you're hungry before the show and don't have time to go anywhere else. on a side note, we have always had a great bar experience there as well (excellent bartenders). eat dinner elsewhere, come early to grab a drink at the bar, and then see a great show.

went on what seemed to be a pretty off night. food was pretty good but a 15 dollar burger is a little expensive. ordered it medium but came out well-done. i will try it again on a weekend night.

walking around new orleans, makes you hungry. and all that food makes you thirsty. fortunately, new awlins is a drinking kinda town. i admit that even though i knew about the “drink on the street as long as it’s in a plastic cup” rule, it was still shocki

pretentious host. my husband and i just spent 4 days in new orleans and were looking forward to a nice relaxing evening at snug harbor. one table was occupied when we arrived and the host brought us to a table in the middle of the room. we asked for a window table, near the occupied table, so we could take in the view while eating. the host made some comment about seating rotations and said it would take a while if we didn't take the table offered. not wanting to make a big deal out of it, we took the table. during the entire time we were there he didn't seat any group at that table even though the restaurant was practically full by the time we left. i guess he was holding it for someone he thought he could impress. not feeling welcome, we left after our meal and went down the street to d.b.a. where we ended up every night for music and drinks. the food at snug harbor was good, our waitress colleen was nice but due to the arrogance of the host (julian or something similar) we won't be back.

much better than the quarter; nola's best burgers. dinner daily 5pm-. lunch 11:30am sat and sun. burgers. one of the best jazz clubs in america. short menu. burger was overpriced ($13 in 09) but bug, juicy, tasty. topping perfect. came with a baked potato i had loaded with cheese, sour cream, bacon, chives etc. -- perfect. service slow. soundtrack is amazing, of course. great spot. 09.

burger is exceptional.... i love this place, it's tiny (almost to a fault) the menu is short, but what they serve is done well. the burgers rival , dare i say it, port of call's famous burgers. my first time there i assumed they were owned by the same owner because the burgers were so similar. to accompany the burgers, some of the best music you will hear in new orleans....

good place. good burgers. i like the restaurant overall, but the service isn't great and the steaks are pretty expensive...$29-$34. i recommend this place, but just expect a burger joint...then you won't be disappointed. we're headed now to hear the jazz...

snug harbor beats the quarter. wonderful change from dining venues in the quarter. live touring jazz bands in the next room. a progressive group with high emotion verve and hum was playing the last time i was there. the menu is fun and fanciful, and the food is memorable. the specials change nightly. after 4 nights dining in and around the quarter, this place was a gem.
