great place, from food to atmosphere.

slingshot charlie's has the besthomecooked food i have tasted in a long time. chicken and dumplings, sweet potato casserole, purple hull peas, fried green tomotos, cabbage, homemade rolls and cornbread were just like my grandmother used to make. peach cobbler was to die for!!!!! i will eat here as often as i can.

truehomestyle food in a quaint little eatery.i visited charlie's with a friend who frequents the restaurant as he lives nearby.he advised we arrive early to avoid the crowd. good advise. we roll in at 5:00 pm and were seated immediately but the influx was right behind us.our server was a young woman, polite, efficient and making sure we had what we wanted.i had an appetite for catfish. my friend ordered hot wings.we both ordered the same sides of turnip greens, crowder peas and mexican cornbread.my catfish was fried to perfection. mildly seasoned, crisp crust and not a hint of grease.sides were fresh and very good . the peas would benefit with a bit more seasoning.the mexican cornbread was a delight. moist and airy yet dense in texture.i wish charlie's were closer to home. i would eat their menu up.

a great place to dine. my husband and i ate at this great place friday night for the first time. we live in arlington and don't like to drive to wolfchase to eat, and am tired of the restaurants available in arlington. i have wished for ahomestyle restaurant like sling-shot charlie's to open close to us, and now it has. we will go many times to this great place to eat such great country fixin's.

new..sling shot charlies has old way of cooking...yum!!!!. probably the best food i have had in a long time, it so reminded me of my grandmothers cooking, i was really in heaven and apparently my son in law was too because he had been on a diet and he cleared his plate and ate blackberry cobbler (homemade by the way)....everything in there inclu
ding the huge yeast rolls arehomemade' let me tell you about the mashed potato cheese and spinach...omg! go to try this place, it sure takes the bla out of eating at the same old places.....thank you sc your great!!

good southern food like grandma used to make. my husband and i stopped by slingshot charlie's on a sunday evening around 7 p.m. staff was courteous and the food was really good.

i ordered the chicken and dressing with sweet potato casserole and deviled eggs. my husband ordered fried chicken livers, purple hull peas and deviled eggs. we were pleasantly surprised at the great flavor in the food. reminded me of dinners at my grandmother's. thehomemade rolls and the jalapeno cornbread were excellent.

we'll be back!

besthomecooking you'll find anywhere these days.. it was literally like going back in time thirty years. the food was great; vegetables, homemade rolls, desserts, chicken dressing, real macaroni and cheese. the restaurant was full of local history, very interesting. great experience!! i will definitely come back to try other entries.

goodhomecooking but portion size a little small. first of all let me say it took forever for these guys to open but after 4 weeks we decided to give them a try. the food was off the chain good forhomecooking. there was no wait walked straight in got a table and quickly served drinks but it took a little while to get the food but it was awesome the only complaint i have us the portion size was rather small for the amount we paid. i talked with one of the owners and she assured me they were working on that. i paid over 50 dollars for a family of 5, 3 of those were kids. we will be back and give them another opportunity.
