so enjoyed the food at slingshot charlies. made from scratch goodness. can't wait until bettye makes the homemade pies. homemade yeast roll are to die for. its all great!

best restaurant in the arlington area hands down! chicken livers, chicken tenders, chicken and dressing, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, & hush puppies...everything my family ordered was fantastic. only complaints would be the sweet tea, not sweet enough for my liking, and it was hot as hades in there! first time visiting, i'll be back very soon.

great place, from food to atmosphere.

slingshot charlie's has the best home cooked food i have tasted in a long time. chicken and dumplings, sweet potato casserole, purple hull peas, fried green tomotos, cabbage, homemade rolls and cornbread were just like my grandmother used to make. peach cobbler was to die for!!!!! i will eat here as often as i can.

this place has a-mazing country cooking. i have been numerous times and the food has been consistently delicious. get there early or you will be waiting for a table. the place gets crowded about 6p.m. fabulous desserts as well. you will leave with a smile on your face.

we just ate at slingshot charlie's for sunday lunch. the four of us loved it! the chicken and dressing was flavorful and tender. the mexican cornbread was amazing. the spinach potatoes were outstanding. the greens were perfect. they have really good sweet tea. the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun and cozy. we would definitely like to go back.

true home style food in a quaint little eatery.i visited charlie's with a friend who frequents the restaurant as he lives nearby.he advised we arrive early to avoid the crowd. good advise. we roll in at 5:00 pm and were seated immediately but the influx was right behind us.our server was a young woman, polite, efficient and making sure we had what we wanted.i had an appetite for catfish. my friend ordered hot wings.we both ordered the same sides of turnip greens, crowder peas and mexican cornbread.my catfish was fried to perfection. mildly seasoned, crisp crust and not a hint of grease.sides were fresh and very good . the peas would benefit with a bit more seasoning.the mexican cornbread was a delight. moist and airy yet dense in texture.i wish charlie's were closer to home. i would eat their menu up.

squash casserole and asparagus. squash casserole has a cheesy blend with breaking and butter that melts to your pallet. asparagus is crisp and roasted with perfection with the right amount of herbs and spices

best place to eat. food is delicious. my husband and i eat there at least two times or more a week. i can not cook a meal like this for what you pay or have it taste as good either. servers are especially nice and have never had to wait for seating or food service. great family place.

a great place to dine. my husband and i ate at this great place friday night for the first time. we live in arlington and don't like to drive to wolfchase to eat, and am tired of the restaurants available in arlington. i have wished for a home style restaurant like sling-shot charlie's to open close to us, and now it has. we will go many times to this great place to eat such great country fixin's.

new..sling shot charlies has old way of cooking...yum!!!!. probably the best food i have had in a long time, it so reminded me of my grandmothers cooking, i was really in heaven and apparently my son in law was too because he had been on a diet and he cleared his plate and ate blackberry cobbler (homemade by the way)....everything in there inclu
ding the huge yeast rolls are home made' let me tell you about the mashed potato cheese and spinach...omg! go to try this place, it sure takes the bla out of eating at the same old places.....thank you sc your great!!

good southern food like grandma used to make. my husband and i stopped by slingshot charlie's on a sunday evening around 7 p.m. staff was courteous and the food was really good.

i ordered the chicken and dressing with sweet potato casserole and deviled eggs. my husband ordered fried chicken livers, purple hull peas and deviled eggs. we were pleasantly surprised at the great flavor in the food. reminded me of dinners at my grandmother's. the home made rolls and the jalapeno cornbread were excellent.

we'll be back!

good food but very expensive for the portions.. the food was really good. homemade flare, the only thing that will keep us from returning often is the price. the portions are very small and yes one roll or one cornbread. the price is high for the location and for the amount of food. all that being said the food was delicious we wish we could frequent there more but with three small children it's just too expensive:( sad because we live so close and it is very handy to have a restaurant so close by.

best food i have eaten out in quite a while!!!!. i had the sunday special of chicken & dressing with sweet potato casserole & deviled eggs. i'm not sure who was cooking back there, but it had to be a grandmama. food tasting like a holiday meal from when i was a kid. i travel nationwide & eat out almost ever meal. this was by far the best food i've had in a long time. will definitely be back & checked in on fb so others would go there too.

best home cooking you'll find anywhere these days.. it was literally like going back in time thirty years. the food was great; vegetables, homemade rolls, desserts, chicken dressing, real macaroni and cheese. the restaurant was full of local history, very interesting. great experience!! i will definitely come back to try other entries.

seriously good food. four of us went for lunch to slingshot charlie and feasted on good home-cooking that will take you back to your grandmother's table if she was an outstanding cook! i had the fried catfish, corn bread, deviled eggs, and fried okra. all of it was out of this world! the fish will have you begging for more except for the fact that you will want dessert. craig and i split the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream and warm chocolate sauce. it was soooo good we ate in silence out of respect for its greatness. try this place out for good southern styled food made from scratch and let it carry you down memory lane to a more simple time when food was made fresh and with lots of love!!
