best restaurant in the arlington area hands down!chickenlivers,chickentenders,chickenand dressing, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, & hush puppies...everything my family ordered was fantastic. only complaints would be the sweet tea, not sweet enough for my liking, and it was hot as hades in there! first time visiting, i'll be back very soon.

great place, from food to atmosphere.

slingshot charlie's has the best home cooked food i have tasted in a long time.chickenand dumplings, sweet potato casserole, purple hull peas, fried green tomotos, cabbage, homemade rolls and cornbread were just like my grandmother used to make. peach cobbler was to die for!!!!! i will eat here as often as i can.

we just ate at slingshot charlie's for sunday lunch. the four of us loved it! thechickenand dressing was flavorful and tender. the mexican cornbread was amazing. the spinach potatoes were outstanding. the greens were perfect. they have really good sweet tea. the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun and cozy. we would definitely like to go back.

good southern food like grandma used to make. my husband and i stopped by slingshot charlie's on a sunday evening around 7 p.m. staff was courteous and the food was really good.

i ordered thechickenand dressing with sweet potato casserole and deviled eggs. my husband ordered friedchickenlivers, purple hull peas and deviled eggs. we were pleasantly surprised at the great flavor in the food. reminded me of dinners at my grandmother's. the home made rolls and the jalapeno cornbread were excellent.

we'll be back!

best food i have eaten out in quite a while!!!!. i had the sunday special ofchicken& dressing with sweet potato casserole & deviled eggs. i'm not sure who was cooking back there, but it had to be a grandmama. food tasting like a holiday meal from when i was a kid. i travel nationwide & eat out almost ever meal. this was by far the best food i've had in a long time. will definitely be back & checked in on fb so others would go there too.

best home cooking you'll find anywhere these days.. it was literally like going back in time thirty years. the food was great; vegetables, homemade rolls, desserts,chickendressing, real macaroni and cheese. the restaurant was full of local history, very interesting. great experience!! i will definitely come back to try other entries.

tried it last week for the first time. i'm fairly hard to please, especially when it comes to home-cooking. i was completely surprised at the quality of the food. the friedchickenlivers were great, the turnip greens were fresh, not straight out of the can. homemade mashed potatoes and gravy were excellent and to really top it off the blackberry cobbler was some of the best i ever ate. i'm on my way back now to try thechickenand dressing.
