skyline chili

the skyline chili is a good place to hangout. i tried the 5 way it was great but not as what people incincinnaticlaim. still i would give it a shot for sure 😁.

i lovecincinnatistyle (greek) chili and skyline is my second favorite after gold star, a relative latecomer to the scene. or is blue ash chili my favorite? i'm really not sure. but skyline is near the top of my list and the clifton location is the spiritual center of the skyline universe.

i don't get thecincinnatichili thing. it is average at best. i could go to the store right now with no recipe and put together better chili than theirs.

skyline is alright, but i would reccomend going to j gumbos next door if you want much better flavor.

chili seems to be all the rage incincinnatibut it's nothing special. cheap options are available. timings and service make it a worthwhile place to visit though it gets old really quickly.

why do they call this chili?. ok, disclaimer, i'm not a native cincinnatian and i mean no offense. but to call this cinnamon meat soup "chili" is a disservice to real chili. people have told me you have to try it several times before you acquire a taste for it but i can not understand why anyone would want to do that. its not like this stuff is good for you and if you want to throw caution to the wind, there are tastier options out there.

chili, outside of cincinnati, does not have cinnamon in it. it is not the consistency of water. it can actually be eaten by itself without the need for a little white hot dog or some spaghetti under it. and you don't need oyster crackers or a pile of cheese 4 inches deep to cover the flavor of it. i have yet to find any actual chili incincinnati(seems like everyone here is crazy for the cinnamon meat soup on top of a whithered finger looking hot dog) and have given up the search. if anyone has found some chili, i'd love to hear a recommdation as i actually enjoy the stuff.

a clifton landmark. this skyline location is the defining college restaurant for uc. droves of inebriated college youths flock here every night. most of the food here is cooked by steam and it gets to the point where it is so steamy in here at night that the windows are fogged up and you can't see through them.

also, to agree with another poster, something is different about this particular skyline. this is the skyline to go to if you want it done right. if you are showing an out-of-townercincinnatichili for the first time, this is the place you want to go.

it could also be that most of the people who go here are drunk and their judgment of the food is affected. or that it is the busiest skyline i've ever been to and so the food is coming out faster and is fresher than at other locations. either way, this location gets my vote for the best skyline in the whole chain.
