skyline chili

skyline. i would visit price hill in cinti o and i worked in covington, ky for irs. there was a skyline chili shop in our building, so i have had plenty of their food. i now am retired and live in northern indiana, ( ug ) but i am able to get canned or frozen skyline here at most of the local stores. i just finished a bowl of it!! besides the regular chili, spagetti, bean & onion dish, my friend and i would steam natural casing hot dogs and serve them with skyline and chopped onions on a regular hotdog bun. couldn't get enough of them yum yum yum !!

heavenly. as a southerner, i am used to hot/spicy chili with kidney beans and jalapenos. i was not looking forward to eating my husband's favorite food from medical school. the thought of sweet chili made me a little queasy.
i reluctantly order a coney and a wrap thing.
omg- i was an ordering fool after that and couldn't get enough.
they have everything cooking and ready right in front of you (we sat at the bar). they pile on the chili/cheese, onions. yumm-o. the wrap that i had was chili/cheese in a tortilla. this is beyond words. i could eat forever- the only thing that stopped me was the limitations my stomach put on space.
the service was stellar, and everyone there was quick and pleasant.
if you haven't been- go! it is worth it.

a clifton landmark. this skyline location is the defining college restaurant for uc. droves of inebriated college youths flock here every night. most of the food here is cooked by steam and it gets to the point where it is so steamy in here at night that the windows are fogged up and you can't see through them.

also, to agree with another poster, something is different about this particular skyline. this is the skyline to go to if you want it done right. if you are showing an out-of-towner cincinnati chili for the first time, this is the place you want to go.

it could also be that most of the people who go here are drunk and their judgment of the food is affected. or that it is the busiest skyline i've ever been to and so the food is coming out faster and is fresher than at other locations. either way, this location gets my vote for the best skyline in the whole chain.

the best. a classic and every time i visit cinci i get my fix of 3 ways and a half dozen weiners.

great food!. it's something about this location that makes this chili great!

the best of the line!. i swear the chili here tastes different (better) than the other outlets. perhaps the chili pots are older and more seasoned or it's the college memories but this is my favorite skyline. also one of the more unique locations with a great view of the bustling clifton/ludlow intersection and the fountain. and of course the only location (that i know of) open until 3 am on the weekends. enjoy!
