upon entry to sincerity cafe and restaurant, you'll know that you're in one of binondo's finest. framed magazine and newspaper articles featuring the restaurant tell you that this is truly a must-try for foodies like me.

we tried their signature dishes: sincerity fried chicken, oyster cake andkikiamthat goes well with their sincerity fried rice. we also had polonchay, frog legs and pancit.

their fried chicken is almost the same as your typical "baon". a little variation is the perfectly blended batter, not so salty and not too much on the flour. the tender, juicy chicken make it worth a second, or even a third serving! gravy was also served, though there's nothing really special about it. you can eat the chicken by itself and enjoy the same goodness. the oyster cake, as other foodies describe, has a very thick consistency because of the cornstarch, nevertheless, it is rich in flavor, using good quality and tasty oysters. the fried rice has a generous amount of chorizo and bits of ham, it makes you say, "kanin pa lang, ulam na!". again, it is neither too salty nor oily.

according to my chinese aunt( in-law), theirkikiamis close to the authentic homemade kikiams their chinese parents prepared for them. it is not the usual street foodkikiamthat we all know. itis stuffed generously with what seemed like pork used in asado and there wasn't a hint of any extender in the filling. the sauce that came with it is a perfect match.

the polonchay cooked in garlic and oyster sauce is the same as our crispy kangkong, though these chinese leaves are a bit more flavorful, bitter even to many. good thing, the sauce made the taste even, you won't notice you already had a big serving of what was bitter initially. the crunchy stems make it even more appetizing!

i didn't try the frog legs, though the family said it also deserves a thumbs up! it tasted like chicken adobo, but the thought that i'll be eating frog legs made me chicken out (though i used to eat this when i was younger). the pancit was nothing so special. but we ordered it for my husband who was also having his belated birthday celebration, chinese tradition, of course.

the servings are small for our family of 10. when the menu says small, we have to order 3 small servings of the same viand, or 1 big serving and 2 small ones. the price though, was competitive enough in that area, and you also have to consider that the restaurant already have a name in their line.

in a nutshell, i would recommend this to foodies who want a taste of home-cooked chinese goodness. if in binondo or ongpin, this small but homey cafe and restaurant should be a stopover in your itinerary.

although we have lived in this area for awhile before moving to another area, it's my first time trying this raved about restaurant. i was excited to finally be able to try sincerity as have heard of good reviews amongst friends. we ordered their signature chicken, oyster omelet, kikiamand sweet and sour pork. their chicken is undoubtedly good and tasty however very bony and we were only able to eat a few because most of chicken are bones and almost no meat. the oyster omelet is so so for me so is thekikiamand sweet and sour pork.

what i love is their lumpiang shanghai andkikiamthen everything seems ordinary in my taste. for me, their oyster cake was good (it taste like eggplant in omelette to me) but my family didn't enjoy it.

this was our second stop during our binondo wok tour. here we were served the following: 5 spice fried chicken, beef sate chami, oyster omelet andkikiamas bonus. everything was good. we even had a second serving of the chicken. theirkikiamwas meaty. i liked the oyster omelet so much that i even brought home the extra order. and i forgot to mention that their kundol juice was very refreshing and it's bottomless.

everybody seems to be a fan of their fried chicken except for me. but don't get me wrong, their fried chicken is really good, but it's a little on the sweet side for me. what i really loved here though, is theirkikiamand chamiki.

i agree with the "best chicken in manila" tagging. p150 of this will get you a long way. the oyster cake is also good here but not everybody likes it. i often order thekikiamas well. i rather go to the original place in yuchengco at rather than the one in the mall

my husband and i opted for an early lunch, we chose sincerity because i was hearing a lot of good reviews regarding their fried chicken. so, when we ate there yesterday, we ordered fried chicken, cha misua, kikiam, fried oyster cake, rice( the sticky one with nuts on top, i forgot the name) and iced tea. their fried chicken was really delicious...it was crispy and seasoned very well. but, i loved their cha misua even more...theirkikiamwas also good. however, i am not a "fan" of their fried oyster cake, it tasted like "tikoy", no oyster taste at all. the sticky rice was alright, but next time, i'd probably choose the sincerity fried rice. we were also served pickled carrots and "labanos", ( my husband loved it so much) probably to counteract the "umay" factor of the oyster cake.

you have to have fried chicken , it's a must try. i give it a score of 5 out of 5..... the right level of crisp, very tender inside, seasoning not salty , aroma is good, smells appetizing and served really hot. the rule of thumb for chicken, it is best when eaten hot. and hot means you feel burnt when biting into it. other specialties that i recommend are the oyster pancake, and fresh lumpia . the friedkikiamis crispy- ly good. tried the duck misua, well, this was served not that hot. and this is local duck, hard long bones and not that tender. and my other issue , service takes sooo long.

their homemade chicken is really the best! the crunchiness and "juicy-ness" of the chicken is a to-look-forward-to! other viands like theirkikiam(ngo hiong) is also a must try!
