upon entry to sincerity cafe and restaurant, you'll know that you're in one of binondo's finest. framed magazine and newspaper articles featuring the restaurant tell you that this is truly a must-try for foodies like me.

we tried their signature dishes: sincerityfriedchicken, oyster cake and kikiam that goes well with their sincerityfriedrice. we also had polonchay, frog legs and pancit.

theirfriedchicken is almost the same as your typical "baon". a little variation is the perfectly blended batter, not so salty and not too much on the flour. the tender, juicy chicken make it worth a second, or even a third serving! gravy was also served, though there's nothing really special about it. you can eat the chicken by itself and enjoy the same goodness. the oyster cake, as other foodies describe, has a very thick consistency because of the cornstarch, nevertheless, it is rich in flavor, using good quality and tasty oysters. thefriedrice has a generous amount of chorizo and bits of ham, it makes you say, "kanin pa lang, ulam na!". again, it is neither too salty nor oily.

according to my chinese aunt( in-law), their kikiam is close to the authentic homemade kikiams their chinese parents prepared for them. it is not the usual street food kikiam that we all know. itis stuffed generously with what seemed like pork used in asado and there wasn't a hint of any extender in the filling. the sauce that came with it is a perfect match.

the polonchay cooked in garlic and oyster sauce is the same as our crispy kangkong, though these chinese leaves are a bit more flavorful, bitter even to many. good thing, the sauce made the taste even, you won't notice you already had a big serving of what was bitter initially. the crunchy stems make it even more appetizing!

i didn't try the frog legs, though the family said it also deserves a thumbs up! it tasted like chicken adobo, but the thought that i'll be eating frog legs made me chicken out (though i used to eat this when i was younger). the pancit was nothing so special. but we ordered it for my husband who was also having his belated birthday celebration, chinese tradition, of course.

the servings are small for our family of 10. when the menu says small, we have to order 3 small servings of the same viand, or 1 big serving and 2 small ones. the price though, was competitive enough in that area, and you also have to consider that the restaurant already have a name in their line.

in a nutshell, i would recommend this to foodies who want a taste of home-cooked chinese goodness. if in binondo or ongpin, this small but homey cafe and restaurant should be a stopover in your itinerary.

we tried sincerity's originalfriedchicken and was surprised that it was one of the best tasting we ever tried.

thefriedchicken being offered in half and whole cuts are worth p160 and p320, respectively.

there's something about its breading that it doesn't even need any ketchup to enhance the taste. it's just delicious as it is. works best with rice!

this restaurant is also among the oldest we've listed so expect old patrons queuing for it.

i went to divisoria with my mom and brother and before going home, we had our lunch there. i suggested to eat at sincerity because i liked theirfriedchicken. luckily, there was no line yet and got seated immediately. food was also served quickly. but i was a bit disappointed with the chicken - it wasn't as tasty as before or even with the one i tried at their robinsons galleria branch. i felt guilty as i have recommended this place but it looked like we weren't too satisfied with the food.

dishes:
1. sincerityfriedchicken: 4/5
2. sincerityfriedrice: 3.5/5
3. duck misua: 3/5

1. for only p360 you get a whole chicken order. great bang for the buck. chicken is still juicy and has a mildly sweet flavor coming through from the marinade. i’m assuming rice wine but i can be wrong.
2.friedrice was good and very flavorful with good bites of chinese sausage.
3. tried this out for the first time. not my favorite but still very flavorful. this soup is a bit sour do to the chinese vinegar added.

sincerity whole chicken is sinply the best. it has lot of flavors and crunchy. some may find it too strong but for me it is okay. theirfriedoyster pancake is okay, not a fan but it has some sticky rice as well. overall it is okay for sharing and food trip.

i don't make it too obvious, but, i love chinese food. i don't always say it probably because chinese food is integrated with filipino cuisine and it's quite common. but whenever i get the chance to eat chinese food, i go for it. i love that cuisine because it's so upfront, it doesn't use fancy titles to make it sound appetizing. when it says, "stirfriedbeef", that's what you get. but what i like about chinese dishes is most of them have a smoky taste because of their way of cooking: using strong flames and wok.

serving time was fast and the staff were friendly. we ordered one whole chicken which was chopped into 16 pieces. we also had kiampong (sticky rice), kikiam, braised pork and oyster panckake. we also had a soup (i forgot the name) which was perfect for the rainy weather.
serving is big, thefriedrice and kiampong can be good for three people if they're not big eaters.

it was crowded that noontime that's why we opted to sit outside the restaurant. service was excellent and consistent. they were very busy but everything went well.

serving time is fast. we ordered:
sincerityfriedrice (big) - the big bowl (for us) is not really big. they can make the rice more flavorful, and meaty(?).

sincerityfriedchicken (small) - it's one of their best-sellers. it was not too salty. actually their chicken doesn't rely on sauces/dips because it was tasty as it is.

shredded beef with onions (small) - was too saucy and has a sweet/sour taste so it's best to pair it with rice. the beef was tender and its sauce went well with the beef and rice.

and crab meat omelette (small) - it was mixed with sliced veggies as well. serving size is quite okay for a group of 3. the crab meat can be barely tasted.

we also got a free liter of iced tea. i don't know why (maybe because it's fathers' day?)

we managed to pay p890.00 only for these orders. it was affordable! i recommend eating here with your family and friends. i will try their dimsum soon.

i went there a few times, and was not disappointed. their dishes were well-prepared to my fukienese background taste. great variety for my selection. crispyfriedchicken was very good; so were oyster pancake, bitter mellon, lumpia, 5-spice meat roll, etc. etc. this restaurant doesn't disappoint.
