went to silver dragon on tuesday afternoon with coworkers at 12noon. the menu definitely caters to western clientele as cart after cart were filled with dumplings and more dumplings - the worst part was that it was the same type of dumplings coming around. it wasn't until nearly the end of our meal when a cart caring only two containers of chicken feet at the very bottom arrived.
we started to order things from the waitress, who then gave out a loud *sigh* and said exasperatedly, "are you not waiting for the cart?" so we said, okay. we were able to find one of the dishes we were looking for (salt and pepper squid), but the rest took awhile before coming by. the waitress did come back with a salt and pepper squid order after we had already received it, and then got mad and stomped off (literally).
we ended up ordering 2 types of shrimp dumplings in rice wrappers, pork dumplings, sticky rice, ginger beef, salt and pepper squid, shrimp rice crepes and chinese doughnuts wrapped in rice crepes (which we had to order directly from the waitress as it never came around on a cart), chicken feet and spare ribs.
extremely disappointed if you were looking for variety, or anything other than dumplings.
lunch was $100 for 6 people - much more expensive than the lasttimei was here!

silver dragon is always a popular restaurant for dim sum and the line of people waiting in the lobby and down the staircase would support this. we arrived sunday at 10:30am and there was already a short line down the stairs. luckily, we didn’t have to wait as our companions were already seated.
silver dragon is one of the few restaurants that still push the dim sum dishes in carts around the tables, which i always think is part of the dim sum experience – the anticipation of carts arriving is half the fun.
food was consistently arriving at our table. they offered all the “classics” of dim sum (ie. har gow, pork buns, chicken feet, rice noodle rolls, etc) and also had a few unique dishes that i haven’t seen at other places like shrimp toast. in addition to the carts, they sometimes have waiters/waitresses carrying large trays of plated dishes around such as salt and pepper squid, soy chicken wings, and vegetables.
from previous experiences, silver dragon has always been consistent with their food. prices are reasonable - it cost: $60 including tax and tip for 4 people.
