went to this place for a shoot. loved their theme and also the fact that stop acid attavk foundation is actually doing a lot for these survivors.
loved their food and the politeness with which the food was served. apart from this, they had an amazing collection of books.
do try their red sauce pasta and sweet corn burger. ❤️

so this is one of the place in agra which has a very unique concept. opened up 2 years back, it is run and managed by acid survivors to give the world d msg and show their fighting back spirit. a cool place which is cafe cum library cum small shopping place.
the ambiance is jazzy with well decorated walls around ( you have stories of ppl working over there).
we had been on lunch over there. we ordered paneer kadhai along with rotis. ( rotis are small in size and hence order accordingly). the service is good but takes a bit of time due to rush which can be ignored. the sabji was perfect! we also ordered masala fries, pasta, veg biryani and lastly cold coffee.
everything tasted good. no complaints foodwise. cold coffee is also gr8 and a must try over there.
lastly, it is a pay what you want to give restro.
overall superb experience and highly recommended while your stay in agra.

good place n good vibes... but, like me, if u go there expecting great food then u might get a lil disappointed... the 4.9 rating on zomato got me all excited but the rating is purely based on the concept n not for food...

this place does not need a review. i am so glad they are located right opposite the gateway hotel, and am sure the guests at the hotel must be dropping by at this place. it is a humbling experience to be at this cafe, makes you count your blessings and makes you want to do something for the cause of acid attack victims. like a visit to agra is not complete without the taj mahal, this also is a must visit. go there, have a cup of chai and spread the cheer.

i would say this place is a must visit place in agra. why must visit? because this place is no less than a monument, a monument of respect. this place is run by victims of acid attacks, despite they going through the trauma, they fought against the odds and stood for themselves and here they are. they operate a restaurant, more than sympathy they have respect of people. people no longer want to avoid them, they visit them. respect for the owner of the place. such restaurants should open at other parts of the country as well.

from outside it appears to be a small cafe, however it has got a play area for children. there is enough place inside to handle different type of crowds. on one side, there is a wall of fame, where the pictures of the survivors are there. adjacent to that wall, there is souvenir wall, from where you can take something as a memory. there are keychains, magnets, t shirts etc. the next wall is a bookshelf which is full of books. so you can just drop down there, with a cup of coffee, enjoy the inspirational books or a book you find interesting. there is variety of books available for you to choose from.

talking about food, they serve delicious food which are very good in its presentation, and sufficient in quantity. they mainly serve vegetarian food. the food comprises of various cuisines, such as italian, indian, chinese, etc. here you don't pay for the food. you pay for what value you perceive for the food and experience at this restaurant. so the amount you pay here goes like donation.

talking about the service, the staff here are more committed to work, they are encouraged, they do all the work, there is no division of work here. they talk to each other they enjoy their time there and that is wonderful to see.

i have two suggestions, see if that is workable:
1) instead of taking any amount for food as donation, the food should be given some number. otherwise it appears that we are paying something as sympathy. putting amount to the food will represent more of professionalism and dedication of the staff. people will come for the restaurant to generate more revenue and there will be more employment. (my personal opinion)

2) there should be someone who interacts with the customers, explains the concept of the restaurant. i am sure not all people visiting the place would know everything about the place. give some insights which are not known to public at large and let the word of mouth spread.

over all i would say it is no less than taj mahal, when in agra this place should be visited. at least i am going to visit the place every time i visit agra.

privileged to write about this iconic place as my 650th review.

this place is beyond any reviews. concept is so noble that it is beyond anyone to rate those brave-hearts.

but even if we kept aside the noble concept. we had a great experience there. love the ambiance, cafe is very colorful with beautiful paintings, graffiti and books. staff was very courteous. we had kadhai paneer and dal fry along with tawa rotis. both the dishes were amazing in taste, specially the dal. we also fresh lime soda in drinks which was decent in taste.

there were no prices mentioned in the menu. one can pay according to his/her wishes, so it gives everyone chance to contribute in this great concept as much as he/she can.

one should visit this place at least once whenever you visit or pass through agra.

a south indian's food trail:

sheroes hangout - i've heard about this place when it made in the news headlines during its onset. since it was my first visit to agra, i wasn't aware that the cafe was set up in agra. i thought it was some other place.
when i saw it in zomato with a whooping 4.9 rating, i instantly made my mind that i'll be visiting them.

kudos to brilliant initiative that would liberate themselves in the shrunken minded society. these kind of initiatives should be appreciated and funded. this would help people to break out from the confined four walls.

this hangout which is located at tajganj opposite to the gateway hotel. the hangout is so nicely done with a vintage name board. they've seats outdoor as well. the interiors of cafe has some amazing wall paintings which would convey a strong message to the society.

a wide array of books are available which helps you pass time. they do sell dresses exclusively handcrafted by one of their team member. the vibes here are amazing!

we ordered few items from the menu:
▪️hakka noodles
▪️lassi
▪️tandoor roti
▪️dal fry

though the quality of the food was average, it would be perfectly fine at times to skip the quality of food and dine in for the theme.

they encourage 'pay as you wish' facility. personally i feel they should list their prices because at times it would confuse customers and which may lead to paying a lesser amount than expected.

verdict: go for their concept. give a helping hand!✋🏻let humanity spread✌🏻

sheroes is an amalgamation of she + heroes & that's what this place is all about! it's about taking charge despite of all the challenges....it's about how to move ahead in life & everything that you can do from what you are given so kudos to all the beautiful women out there. sheroes cafe is run by acid attack victims & what they are trying to do here is break free from the funding phenomenon & establish themselves. the one thing that will strike you with sheroes is that there are no prices on the menu & it's basically because you can pay as you wish. even though sheroes has a cause to it, in no way is the quality of food & service compromised. we ordered a butterscoth shake, cold coffee, fries & a cheese cutlet. all of it was pretty scrumptious & really yummyie.

the staff was also very friendly nd sweet...it's a nice place to sit, relax, sip & munch on. additionally you can also read books here that have been donated to the cafe by book lovers & you can buy dresses that are created by themselves. in addition to all that, i loved the graffiti on the cafe walls....it was beautiful & vibrant. all in all, it's a must visit if you are visiting agra :)

i was watching some food channel on television, there was a segment about agra in which 'sheroes' was also featured. i bookmarked it right away on zomato. after reading all about 'she+heroes', i wanted to visit agra for sheroes and not for taj mahal.

it's a nice cozy place with indoors, outdoors and a one-table-terrace. there are graffiti done on walls and photos of all the acid attack survivors who run the cafe are put up. they sell dresses which are designed by one of them. shelves are filled for the book lovers. all the videos featuring cafe staffs are on loop on the television.

the food quality is great. service is also quick. the menu does not have a price list. they ask us to pay as much as we want (your wish). instead they've put up a little list outside which mentions the kind of help they want - computer, laptop, furniture etc

not everything is about food and ambience, experience also counts.

kudos to the females who have the audacity to come up in the society and proudly run a cafe chain like this. the moment i discovered this place i wanted to visit it. it defines the beauty of a person, the struggles and bravery altogether. although they haven't put the prices in the menu but for consumers sake they should. though as per my understanding i did pay double of what i ordered but even then there was a sense of dissatisfaction in my mind that what if they expect more and i paid less! this is my view and my feeling, some might agree some might disagree. also, go for the concept and not for the food.
although i won't visit this place ever again and neither of its sister outlets. and this rating is just for those females and not for the food and the environment.

i ordered a butter scotch shake. it tasted really good !
i opened the menu to check the price and was unable to find any numerical all over the menu.
i asked them for the bill, for which they replied - " your wish" !!

it was really commendable on the part of the person , who came forward and took this initiative.
