at least they tried. it takes nerve to try and make southern style food up here in mn where so many people have no idea what the food is really like. i ordered the soft shell crab sandwich, surprised it wasn't a po boy like it should have been. it came out very quickly which was nice. the crab was split, and had lettuce on the bottom of a toasted bun with mayo and tomato on top. first, it should have been a roumalade. and second, if your are gonna split the crab clean it out! it was a nice try, but for a glass of wine and a sandwich to be $23.67 you need to get it right. it is a nice place to relax and take in the view, but you won't get your money's worth here. prices should be more inlinewith your quality, which is lacking and more in the ballpark of a hole in the wall.

worth the wait in line. this place can get busy, and thelinecan get long.
but the quick service at the counter and friendly staff compliment that you are eating rally good seafood, in a city park. and once you have the calamari you will be in a zen like trance no matter how long thelineis the next time you visit.

really, i never heard of scallop tacos before, but all the pictures i saw of sea salt's bay scallop tacos really got me interested and eventually converted me into a fan. it was my sole reason to come and finally try sea salt. well, also to take my visiting family to check out minnehaha falls. :)

those tacos - wow...delicious! loads of crispy bay scallops piled on two layers of tortillas, topped with salsa, corn relish, and cilantro. there were so many things on the menu; yet, i went straight to the scallop tacos. i couldn't think of anything else the whole time i stood in line. yes, the line....it was long but it was worth it. after i put those tacos away, i wanted to go back inlinefor more. what is this? six flags' roller coaster ride? i wish i had the wrist band for all day passes to scallop tacos.

we also ordered the fish tacos that looked and tasted so mighty good. i had a bite of it from my brother in law's plate. yumm. the clam strips were a bit overcooked but we didn't leave anything behind still.

it was a nice afternoon at the park. i couldn't believe all this beauty and we're in the middle of a city. it was pretty cool. i can't wait to go back and will be back before they're close after the season is over.

sea salt is everything i had hoped it to be. i really do believe in it and i may make it my church and visit every sunday. thelineis pretty much like a communion line. bring it on. even if i exaggerated, i am a huge fan now and will come visit often.

really? today (sun.) we waited 1.5 hrs to finally get our food after first arriving at 6:15. the salad, fried seafood and tacos were good, but hardly memorable, with plastic plates, etc. and a fairly hefty price ($50 for four, no beverages). they seem to command such a longlinesimply by having a monopoly on food service there. absolutely not worth it unless there's no line.

used to be good, but not now. the food is sometimes still good, but it's gotten careless. there are about 10 employees crowded behind the counter, but service still manages to be painfully slow. and with all those people, no one seems to be available to go outside and clean things up. table tops and chairs are often gummy and greasy. garbage cans are often overflowing.

we live in the neighborhood and in its first few years, thought of sea salt as a fun go-to place for an outdoor meal. we went many times a summer. now we rarely go. it's not worth the epiclinewe have to stand in every time (be prepared to wait 30 or 45 minutes to place your order---it's not uncommon) or the prices, which are high for many items. i just had one of the bargain options, grilled mahi tacos, for lunch. only $7, but also nothing i'd order again. they were flavorless with just a trace of the salsa that was mentioned on the menu, and the limp, damp tortillas that were the soft taco shells fell apart.

if you don't mind waiting inlinefor a while ( longest i've waited: 2 hours) for some great sea food, it's deff worth it. i've been 5 times now and the food is always great. fav is the crawfish sandwich. has that local vibe and relaxed atmosphere while located right by the falls. deff would recommend visiting this place once.

if there's alineoutside the restaurant, look elsewhere. our shortlineresulted in us waiting well over an hour to get our food. if time is of the essence, don't cone here.

not worth the wait!. we expected sea salt to be busy on a beautiful september evening but we did not expect to wait inlinefor 45 minutes and then wait an hour to get our food. we had heard that it was a family friendly place - - which just isn't true! first, they only had one item on their menu that was geared towards kids - - it would have been nice to have an option of fish strips or something along those lines. second, what kid wants to sit and wait an hour and 45 minutes to eat! our kids were starving by the time the food got there and were so disappointed that the veggie burger they got was burnt and the fruit that came with the meal was basically the rind of a catalope. my husband gave the kids his fish sandwich which was very little fish and mostly fried breading. the kids ended up eating the buns of both sandwiches and that was it! my 4 year old daughter (who loves eating out) declared "this place stinks" and asked to go home! i had the fish tacos which were ok but not worth the wait! i won't go back!

peak hours affect service. i cannot recommend this eatery to any of my friends visiting the twin cities, because i wouldn't be able to trust sea salt to avoid wasting their time. two hours is a lot of time to lose on just one weekend in town.

i put 1 ½ hours on my parking meter, and it wasn't enough. waiting inlinetook about 40 minutes, but over 80 minutes passed before there was food on my table.

this was at 7:00pm on a beautiful saturday evening. yep, it was busy and i understand the pressures this can put on a kitchen. it's too bad sea salt cannot prepare orders as fast as they arrive, but to their credit the food quality remained excellent. everything was tasty and worth the cost.

but it wasn't worth the wait.

if you have that kind of time and you want some great oysters or fish in a natural setting, it's the place for you. just know what you're signing up for, before you place an order on a busy night.

sea salt eatery. beautiful location! went about 7 pm and stood inlinefor a half hour to order. had the fish tacos (grilled tilapia) which were delicious. two tacos per order, and they seemed a bit skimpy on the fish, but for $7 not bad i guess. i loved that they had a "sauce bar" where you could choose your own sauces to add some zip. once we ordered it took another half hour to get the food, but it was a beautiful summer evening, lots of people, so maybe this is the norm? i wouldn't go if you are on a time schedule. anyway, had a scoop of their cinnamon crunch ice cream for dessert - yum! i would go there again.

sea salt. biked down there june 6th at 5:00 for a beer and an appetizer. there were only 7 people inlinebut it took 15 minutes to order. a bit frustrating as we counted 16 employees behind the counter, some drinking a beer while we waited in line. would never go back there to eat again for a few reasons 1) service is absolutely some of the worst service i have ever experienced 2) the shrimp cocktail is awful and that's the only thing on the menu at a quick glance i could find that isn't fried? best seafood in town? you have got to be kidding me. i would go to bagu for sushi a thousand times over before i would go to this sea salt again. also, are these state employees or city employees working the restaurant? no care in the world to them about service, none at all.

great atmosphere and food to match!. couldn't picture a more perfect place on a nice summer night. really relaxing, great people watching and the food was tasty. a little pricey i thought(with 1 drink a person, app and sandwich it sure added up quick) we went on a beautiful wednesday night and the wait wasn't too bad, 25 minutes inlineand another 20 at the table. we started with delish calamari, lightly battered and fried with really great texture and taste. i got the special crawfish roll. it was fantastic, light and just the perfect amount of flavor. we also got a fried oyster po' boy. i woudn't recommend it was incredibly fishy tasting, and the oysters tasted bad. could have been a bad batch? other than that it was really great, i'll be back.
