lovely staff, great food. yummy food, lots of atmosphere and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. will return with friends.

good, pricey food and ourstanding staff make this coffee house a winner. we were staying in a hostel nearby and needed a go-to place for early coffee. took a chance on scout and we were pleasantly surprised by the crisp, effective and friendly service and well-made coffee.
over our week in brisbane, my travel-mate indulged in some of their (expensive) breakfast creations and found all well-crafted and satisfying.
this is a cheerful cottage with a consistent neighborhood following and inviting service. a winner.

horrible coffee. my usual cafe was closed for the day due to staff illness so a coworker and i walked up to scout. i paid just under $5 for a very small soy latte (they do not have syrups, honey only). my coffee was truly awful, burnt beyond any bad coffee i've ever had. my coworker threw hers out after two sips. we have heard such good things about scout and they receive rave reviews but i just can't understand why as anyone from our office that dare try their coffee has said the same thing.
$12 for a takeaway bagel is also a little steep, and the staff need to customer service training - the cashier could not be less interested if she tried.

we were seated in the back room at a communal table featuring magazines and a book on “how to rear guinea pigs” or similar. we ordered coffee, which is from coffee supreme (new zealand roasters) – l had a flat white, and i ordered a saigon – essentially a cold long black with condensed milk. it was very refreshing, not too sweet with a perfect amount of condensed milk, and woke me up quick smart.

the beans were gently fragrant, but the pork was still fairly tough; i wouldn’t have minded waiting extra time as it roasted in the oven.

housed in a cute little building, scout seems to have a good reputation. it came up a fair bit online and was recommended by friends and brisbane food bloggers. we went with a good friend on a weekend (an awkward number, a table for three). there was a brief wait on the street – so melbourne! (except not cold). we were scuttled to a table soon after — think old wooden school desk. i’m all for retro and eclectic and all, but both my dining partners are over six-foot tall.

scout café is absolutely beautiful! the food is consistently delicious and the coffee is excellent. i love this place and i love the staff more. best cafe ever :)

nice place, but burns a hole in the pocket.. coffee was nice and the setting is cute, but i cannot justify paying $17.50 for a piece of toast, a little avo, a few slices of tomato, four little mushrooms and an egg. >:(

best bagels. the breakfast bagel was so delicious and full of flavour. probably the best bagel i've had so far in brisbane. the coffee was great too. i'll definitely be coming back on a regular basis! :)

brisbane staple. i've been here a handful of times and have never been disappointed. the menu is constantly changing, but always good. from a breakfast burrito to a winter porridge for breakfast, or the anchovies and white bean pesto bagel to the banh mi bagel (with pork belly!) or the monday meatloaf specials - they always hit the spot. great coffee, friendly service and affordable prices.. what more can you ask!?

a brisbane must!. wow, was i blown away by their bagels! i rave about this little cafe, such amazing bagels. their breakfast bagels are awesome and so flavoursome. love that they serve fresh juices here and not bottled ones. definitely recommend 10/10!

supreme coffee!. scout is my to go to whenever i miss my awesome supreme coffee from wellington. coffee is superb and as good as the one i had in wellington, nz. i love their breakfast bagel, it looks small but it fills you up!

scout was great - lovely service and a delicious brekkie bagel. the kaiserfleisch is a nice addition to what could be an otherwise standard breakfast choice.
we waited 10 minutes but we're asked if we'd like coffees in the meantime. all wait staff were very pleasant and anticipated our orders, drinks etc.
it's reasonable for prices as it cost us 32 for both with coffees. i'd certainly return!
