great place. nice place, goodserviceand the food and coffee is up to scratch. would definitely go back for more. the kaiserfleisch is a great "alternative" to bacon and glad to see it on the menu instead of your regular bacon! french toast with piping hot butterscotch was a hit. coffee wasn't bad either. its a little mellow, but that's just personal preference. it was smooth and well made nonetheless.

the coffee was so perfect, that i had to have 2. theservicewas excellent.
i also had the best bagel of my life today here. simply delicious.

had a smoked salmon bagel and iced latte here on a sunday. 
impressed with the quality of the coffee- its above the average
smoked salmon bagel- a classic combo, good smoked salmon with refreshing sauce and veggies, for me, the bagel was a bit crunchy which i expected should be slightly crispy. however inside was chewy which is nice. overall, it was not bad.

this is our go to place for brunch. they have great coffee and a good assortment of breakfast and lunch treats. its hard to go past the "scouts honour" big breakfast. the pork and maple sausages are heavenly, just giving that hint of sweetness to the taste. the baked eggs in sausage ragu is also wonderful (using the same sausages) with a tomato / chilli base that gives a hint of heat for that inner glow. they have fresh squeezed juices, lots of lovely salad and toastie options for lunch and a nice vibe. my only gripe is they won;t do scrambled eggs - seriously, how hard is it? the place is usually busy butserviceis quick so you shouldn't have to wait too long.

this place is always busy on the weekends- the bagels are probably why.

seriously, delicious. i had the brekky bagel which had thick bacon in it- it was so good. friend had the brekky salad- we preferred mine as it was warm. juice was standard hangover delicious as was the coffee- wait the coffee was really, really good, as was the service.

i could be biased towards this place as my friend used to live where when her grandma owned it- seriously cool place for an 18 year old to live in by herself. that made our visit more reminiscy fun.

but the food,serviceand atmosphere were all 👌

loved our breakfast at this quirky cafe. a miscommunication meant i got a brekky bagel with haloumi instead of avo toast with haloumi but the bagel was so delicious i didn't mind! i also loved that the cafe uses laguiole knives, makes cutting the bagel a breeze :) my partner had the bircher which appears to be a small portion but is deliciously filling. the coffee was good, but not among the best in brisbane in my opinion - nevertheless i will definitely return becauseserviceand food were on point!

great coffee, great food, great staff.  the staff there today were genuinely lovely and we could tell they enjoyed working at this cafe because they knew their stuff and were attentive to our needs from the moment we walked in.

the skinny cap and flat white were some of the best coffees we've had in a long time so a big tick right there.  the breakfast menu was relatively short compared to other cafes but the hot and cold choices were still enough to make the decision difficult.  some of the items making this menu stand out are the bagels and breakfast salads so we ordered the breakfast bagel and the salmon and soft boiled egg breakfast salad.  

both were delicious.  the eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon in the bagel was excellent.  my wife enjoyed the salad which was generous with the salmon.

it does state on the menu that variations to meals are limited and this made sense when told a fried egg could not be changed to a poached one because they don't do them.  this was a bit puzzling because if they can serve them soft boiled, it's not too much of a stretch to make a poached one?  not having poached eggs on the menu would be the only flaw to an otherwise excellent breakfast cafe.  the prices are comparable to other eateries of the same standard but the coffee and theservicemade scout really stand out from the rest of the smashed avocado crowd.

great food with decentservice(as long as it's not too busy). lovely homely hipster atmosphere. definitely try to breaky bagel - it's available all day.

expect a wait for weekend breakfast/brunch though!

disappointing. we visited brisbane from melbourne last week. we love eating out for breakfast and we looked for a top-rated place to go. scout had great reviews.
but we were disappointed. there was very little choice on the menu, presentation was uninspired, as was the food (eg. raspberry goop plonked on top of yoghurt, plonked on top of granola with a thimbleful of milk on the side), the coffee was lukewarm and theservicewas slow. oh, and it was pricey.
did we expect too much, given the foodie city we come from?
well, surely brisbane locals would want to know that they are getting a breakfast that is comparable with the best from australia's biggest cities. it's unfortunate to have to say that it seems brisbane still has a way to go.

worth the wait. after waiting nearly an hour for a table even with the excellent customerservicefrom friendly staff who brought us our drink orders of milkshakes and coffees to drink on the footpath i was starting to wonder if we should go somewhere else. i was very pleased we waited breakfast was absolutely amazing, we had french toast, breakfast bagels and the smashed avocado.

good, pricey food and ourstanding staff make this coffee house a winner. we were staying in a hostel nearby and needed a go-to place for early coffee. took a chance on scout and we were pleasantly surprised by the crisp, effective and friendlyserviceand well-made coffee.

over our week in brisbane, my travel-mate indulged in some of their (expensive) breakfast creations and found all well-crafted and satisfying.

this is a cheerful cottage with a consistent neighborhood following and inviting service. a winner.

horrible coffee. my usual cafe was closed for the day due to staff illness so a coworker and i walked up to scout. i paid just under $5 for a very small soy latte (they do not have syrups, honey only). my coffee was truly awful, burnt beyond any bad coffee i've ever had. my coworker threw hers out after two sips. we have heard such good things about scout and they receive rave reviews but i just can't understand why as anyone from our office that dare try their coffee has said the same thing.

$12 for a takeaway bagel is also a little steep, and the staff need to customerservicetraining - the cashier could not be less interested if she tried.

brisbane staple. i've been here a handful of times and have never been disappointed. the menu is constantly changing, but always good. from a breakfast burrito to a winter porridge for breakfast, or the anchovies and white bean pesto bagel to the banh mi bagel (with pork belly!) or the monday meatloaf specials - they always hit the spot. great coffee, friendlyserviceand affordable prices.. what more can you ask!?

scout was great - lovelyserviceand a delicious brekkie bagel. the kaiserfleisch is a nice addition to what could be an otherwise standard breakfast choice.

we waited 10 minutes but we're asked if we'd like coffees in the meantime. all wait staff were very pleasant and anticipated our orders, drinks etc.

it's reasonable for prices as it cost us 32 for both with coffees. i'd certainly return!

i wasn't overwhelmed by my breakfast burrito after having (probably inflated) expectations based on the reviews. we also had the bircher muesli which was really good. coffee is very good and theserviceis lovely and attentive.
