another one bites the dust. i grew up in pc. i remember when it really was the last local beach club. i guess they are all gone now. i didnt see much difference between the new and improved schooner's and all the rest of the tourist traps. i brought family from ga. with me and had told them how great it was. big mistake. theservicestunk and so did the food, never again.

love this place. it was my favorite local beach club when i lived there 93-95 and it's my go-to place when i make a yearly visit. and, i recently received excellent customerservicefrom molly and jennifer in getting me a bright orange schooners shirt to replace one my brother had worn down to rag status. it was the second one he had worn to pieces, but i hit a snag when they didn't have any in stock and weren't looking to stock that particular color any longer. well, molly worked with managers/jennifer and got another order placed and then went out of her way to get that in the mail to me here in northern virginia. my brother was thrilled as was i. again, molly really went the extra mile to keep me updated with the progress and not even charging me to mail it to my house can't be beat!!

plus, their food rocks, the view is great and it really is an awesome place to hang out!!

if you're thinking about visiting the place, stop thinking and just do it! you won't be sorry!!

the food is way overpriced considering nothing is fresh. basically everything they have is frozen and fried. the atmosphere is the only good thing they have going. i've never had a positive experience with theservicestaff.

great gumbo!. lunch again today. honey had the "scuban" and fries like he always does. wonderful as always. i forgot how good the fries are. i try to change up every time. today i had the gumbo and the black beans and rice. both were yummy. i was impressed with how much meat was in the gumbo.

fave. just a general overview. we have been there many times over the years and met out of town friends for lunch. we have never been disappointed. the "scuban" and the soft shell crab blt are two faves, the shrimp corn chowder is absolutely wonderful and the salads are awesome. you can't beat the view and theservicehas always been most excellent. one of my favorite places for lunch!

a jewel in the sand. it's hard to find old school joints that are right. on. the. beach. we arrived right at 4:30 on sunday and barely got a parking spot/table....go early. the great news it was on the less windy side of the porch with a great view of the beach/sand/sun. take a coat in if its windy.

ourservicewas great. we had a super-young server but you wouldn't have known it by theservice(sorry, small-blond-pony-tail-super-blue-eyed-girl, forgot your name). we literally had our drinks in 40 seconds and the place was 3/4 packed and everything came with an easy smile from the server.

good job in the kitchen, too. the food came out hot, flavorful, and in 5 minutes. i read that the grouper was "where it's at" so i got the blackened grouper sandwich, substituting the black beans & rice for fries. the fish was really good....there was no charge for my substitution. the sleeper on the plate was the beans and rice. there's no fear of seasoning in this place! the salt was perfect and the heat was bold but not overwhelming.

yes, you pay a little more for a sandwich than on the back beach road but they have to compete with condos & (i'm guessing) rising real estate prices to stay there and give you the view you really want. put schnooner's address in your navigation and go......

you won't mind if you're drunk!. we ate here about two years ago, after being told by new friends we met on the beach, it was good. arrived around 7:00 and waited over an hour to be seated. we were ushered into a very crowded room to the back of the restaurant that had a great view, but the seating was pitiful--high barstools with no back support. we waited another 20 minutes for our waiter to greet us and take our food and drink order. i ordered the grilled mahi mahi and ceasar salad. ceasar salad was warm and limp and loaded with dressing. gag. the mahi mahi (deck of cards size) was good but only served on a piece of lettuce--nothing else!!! $18 for that entree!! my husband and son had the grouper sandwich and fries which they liked, but portions of both were small. we will never eat here again as a family. i just wanted a decent, fresh, seafood meal and they did not deliver. atmosphere is for drinkers who don't care about the food or service.servicewas poor--saw waiter twice--he apologized for being so crazy busy. save your hard-earned money and eat somewhere else.

great food. visited on tuesday, october 11th, 2001 for lunch. i had the fish tacos which were very tasty and my wife had the popcorn shrimp, also excellent. this place is a blast to visit and the food is always good. the only complaint i had is that a lady walked in off of the beach with a dog. not only was she allowed to keep the dog in the restaurant, but the waitress even brought her a high chair for the dog to sit in. unacceptable.

great lunch. my wife and i had lunch at schooners on monday of our vacation and were very impressed. the place was very busy, but theservicewas good and the food was excellent. plus, nothing beats having a relaxing lunch while watching the waves beat the shore. superb!


visited schooners again for 2016 vacation (october).  seems we're never disappointed with this place.  we tried the loco shrimp this year and omg, it was wonderful.  get there early and get a tall booth out by the rail so you can enyoy the sunset.  amazing!  always enjoy the wonderful service!

the biggest ripoff on the beach & terribly overrated. i wouldn't suggest this restaurant to anyone. theserviceis absolutely abhorable. we had gone there for an early supper with plans to eat there, but couldn't seem to get waited on. after having to ask for a server to please wait on us, we ordered 2 drinks that were absolutely undrinkable (they were left sitting, untouched on the table when we left). when we couldn't seem to keep our servers attention for more than about 10 seconds at a time, we changed our minds about staying for dinner (we only had a few days for vacation . . . . we'd still be sittin there right now if we had stayed to eat). we went elsewhere to eat and were waited on promptly & very efficiently. i might add that montego bay is one of the very bestttt places to dine in pcb. food &serviceis top-notch. schooner's got $20 out of us that day, but you can bet it's the last dollar they'll ever get from us.

great time!. went to schooners last summer in may of 2010 and really had a good time in pcb. this was, by far, my favorite restaurant. the cannon actually caught me off guard, but the sunset was unbeatable. word to the wise. get there in plenty of time before sunset to get seated. cool bar, great food, fastserviceand being from the midwest and texas i really go for the place being accessible from the beach. neato!

another mainstay in our pcb vacations... we love schooners!!!!!!! nothing like sitting outside watching the waves with a nice cold beer and a lobster poboy! yum!serviceis hit or miss here..but being at the beach along with the food out ranks the iffy service.

favorite for years!. absolutely love schooners! not only am i a local here in panama city beach it's always the first place i take my out of town guests! theserviceis fantastic, the drinks are always cold, the price works for anyone, and the food,..well it's just simply fantastic! i always go early and hang beachside and stay late for the show! my son absolutely loves the sunset cannon one of the best beach traditions around!

we have eaten here several times and each time has been terrific. our son loves eating here, the food is always delicious and theserviceis very friendly. or last trip there was at supper time and we got to watch the fight with the pirate ship and cannon fight between the restaurant and them, my son loved that! a must do when in town!

how can i say this as nicely as possible? the food was horrible! the boiled shrimp were very bland !! theservicewas fair. the live music was so loud our table couldn't carry on a conversation and we were at the back of the restaurant- we were thankful when he needed a break. save your money and try somewhere else!!

i love this place. great food, greatservicereally great staff. they have created a life long custemer.

unexpectedly delicious! i expected it to be just another tourist trap, but everything i had was so good! creative menu, great plate presentations, beautiful ocean-front view. i sat outside on the deck, which can get quite chilly, but they have outside heaters to accomodate! nice staff, greatserviceas well. can't wait to give it a second try.
