surprised, but incredibly so. when my family and i moved here almost two years ago, finding certain restaurants was just not on our minds. we imagined we would find decent mexican, and decent bbq. chinese and italian were the furthest things from our minds. we have lived in nyc, los angeles, along with five other states, and have experienced some good food along the way. saviano's literally knocked us out. it is in short, one of the top three italian restaurants my family has had the pleasure to enjoy. by now, we've tried everything on the menu, and their quality of ingredients, matched with the most amazing tastes has never left us wanting. we have settled into three of our personal favorites, amongst them being the fabulous and delicate chicken parmesan, a burst of light flavors that taken as a whole, come together to make the most amazing taste and texture. the marinara is out of this world delicious! shrimp alfredo...the girls favorite. it's as decadent as a cream sauce can be without being too heavy, matched with perfectly cooked pasta, and fresh firm shrimp. we always make sure to order a cheese pie, which gives us a quintessential new york style, in the middle of texas? who knew? we couldn't be happier! i don't ever comment on a place's décor, because, well, we're all of the mind that we eat for food, not for draperies, but you can't get more authentic a feel than their family style atmosphere. if you want a taste of home, saviano's is a must. we usually order take out, and enjoy movie night together. they make ordering take out as easy as it can be. friendly, but not over-attentive of a staff. you feel like you're only a moment from being helped, but never feel as if you're constantly having to say "no thank you, we're fine". all in all, saviano's is the best italian we've had in years. give them a try.
