average. not bad, nor good. maybe i'm overly severe due to the tremendous hype this place arouse...but i wasn't impressed.

delicious bbq skewers and cold beer (creemore)--perfect for a hot summer day at the market. we tried one of the salads and weren't terribly impressed (the papaya could have used less vinegar), but if you stick to what they're good at when ordering -- which is, of course, satay -- you can't go wrong.

satay brothers is worth a visit for the laksa and for people who can’t make that food odyssey to singapore anytime soon. note: they move indoors in the winter and their menu changes slightly according to the season.

overall good. the interior is very simple, cozy and intimate, not to mention tiny. there are three communal tables and a small spot on the bar to choose from, just about enough to seat 30 people at most.

the wall menu, written on a chalkboard, features a few fan favorites such as the satay chicken skewers and steam buns, as well as other southeast asian dishes and a section for changing specials.

we went with the tofu steamed buns (a hit), laksa lemak soup (a classic!) and mee goreng noodles (so-so).

overall good. i liked the fact that they took the singaporean hawker concept to canada, having a team of guys working at pushing out a menu that no one else is really doing in the area.

i will agree with a previous poster that the portion sizes are too small for the price. i'll clarify: the portion sizes are right, but the prices are wrong. i love the fact that in malaysia (read: penang) and singapore, portions tend to fall on the small side, which is great because a little bit of a good thing is better than too much of one. it's just that the prices should have been a bit lower for these correct (in my opinion) portions.

tasty food, but worth the wait?. tried satay brothers for the first time recently. the food was very tasty, but not sure i'd go out of my way for it... and the waiting time was extremely long. both to order and to get the food.

i finally got the chance to try this place out after hearing all the hype about it. you can tell it is a trendy spot with a bunch of brothers and friends having fun which is cool. i was lucky enough to go on a monday afternoon so the wait wasn't too long at all. i tried the basics, satay of the day, the steamed pork bun and the green papaya salad. i give the food a thumbs up. it was good but wasn't amazing by any means. if i am in the area and no line up i would have it again. i wouldn't go out of my way or wait in a giant line up how ever.

for all fans of the satay brothers from the market, this is a must-visit to enjoy your usual summer favorites. for the rest of you, this is an extremely worthwhile visit – great food at a very reasonable cost. the winnicki brothers and their mother have created a wonderfully homie restaurant experience. alex, who was tending to the floor, was quite active – always interacting with his customers, starting up conversation while keeping service very snappy. the love shown to him and his family from all the patrons is a testament to the attention they put on everyone who comes through that door. i must also praise alex from being quite understanding towards a situation with me that involved leaving money at a atm prior to my arrival (unbeknownst to me when i came to pay) which is a problem at a cash only place. quite the embarrassment for me but alex was very trusting and was not concerned that i wouldn’t come back later on to pay (which i did 20 minutes later). for the way he handle my si

i truly enjoyed the savory/spicy house made peanut butter sauce, a really nice change from the generic sweet version

sizzling saint-henri. a few weeks ago, the popular satay brothers food kiosk from marché atwater opened up a permanent location on a dreary stretch of saint-jacques ouest.

the interior is very simple, cozy and intimate, not to mention tiny. there are three communal tables and a small spot on the bar to choose from, just about enough to seat 30 people at most.

the wall menu, written on a chalkboard, features a few fan favorites such as the satay chicken skewers and steam buns, as well as other southeast asian dishes and a section for changing specials.

we went with the tofu steamed buns (a hit), laksa lemak soup (a classic!) and mee goreng noodles (so-so).

based on tonight's dinner, we can confidently say that the brothers are still on the right track with their new establishment. this one is bound to be a permanent fixture in the burgeoning saint-henri neighborhood.

amazing asian street food. we picked up some takeout from satay brothers on a weekday for lunch.

the mee rebus soup is quite possibly the best asian soup in town.

we will be back!

brothers' laksa had me falling head over heels with this spicy rice noodle soup. i slurped up every drop of the oh-so-very-lemak (or aromatic) chicken gravy with much relish. ask for the triple spicy if you can handle the heat.
