tried the chicken satay, papaya salad, shrimp curry deep fried doughy balls and shrimp laksa soup. the best thing by far is the chicken satay. the rest was underwhelming (because i had high expectations). will go back for that chicken yum.

tiny spot for asian fusion food. casual service, usually the brothers are there. interesting but short menu with everything tasting amazingly delicious. take lots to try, and take home the rest for later.

what a place!. following the baseball game at the big-o (jays lost, booooo), we had the distinct pleasure of going to satay bros. for a late night snack. we had been planning to go try this restaurant for a while based on all the reviews, and being downtown allowed for the small detour.

thank goodness for the new extended hours! we only managed to get there by 10:45pm because of the after-baseball traffic. the place was still bustling! upon entering we were immediately greeted by a waiter who seated us, explained the menu, and took our order.

upon his recommendation, we ordered the laksa soup, pork buns, papaya salad, and the chicken satay. our orders were promptly brought by another waiter who checked on us several times during our meal.

the food was out of this world and very authentic! i would have to say some of the best singaporean food we have ever had! the laksa soup was phenomenal. my face sweats when i eat spicy food, and this was definitely no exception. the pork buns... omg. what can i say that has not already been said. the pork belly was succulent and sweet, and the buns themselves were divine. so much so, that we ordered a 2nd order! brought to us by yet another waitress who checked on us. the papaya salad was a great contrast to the whole meal... and the chicken satay, well let's just say you don't go to satay bros' without trying their satay!

as we ate, we were checked on by yet another person, this makes 4, who turned out to be one of the owners making sure that everything was to our liking! with the place as busy as it was, he still took the time to chat with all his customers!

everything that has been said and written about this place is true. you have to try it!
we'll be back soon to try some of the other recommendations!

specialization is almost always good. thai specializing in satay and they do it well. wait times and lines can be annoying but the food is spicy and good, mb rating 7.

went for the first time last night after hearing a lot of good things and was wildly disappointed. my waitress was awesome. but that was the highlight. the servers bringing the food were less than adequate, and started walking away with my dish when the couldn't figure out i was at the end of the long table. while the entrees were good the mains were failing. tiny portion for a main. it would have passed as an entree in any other restaurant. and the presentation it looked like some one had scooped it out of a steamer tray in a buffet and tossed it on the plate.
the place itself was overcrowded. no one likes to eat with someone looking over their shoulder waiting for you to finish so they can take your seat.
on top of all this the owners were rude and insulting to their patrons. i will never go back and i will be sure to let people know why.

asian perfection!. satay brothers is a wonderful, friendly and incredibly delicious. from their very popular stand during the summer, at the atwater market. to their recently renovated location on st.henri.
their food is packed with flavor, as well as simple yet beautifully presented. with their kind and wonderful sense of humor and kindness, never a dull moment seeing the very hard working guys behind satay brothers.
their steamed buns, with tender flavorful pork belly, is outstanding. you like some kick? definitely order their laksa soup, it packs a great deal of heat, with loads of flavor. a must try!
their prices are very reasonable, it will make you want to order numerous things from their menu. a great spot, a must try!

i have been several times and always love the food. it's authentic and the athmosphere is super welcoming. the only downsides is they're very busy for such a small place and usually understaffed in terms of servers, but every time it's always worth the wait.

all of them are super delicious, but i can’t help but feeling ripped off because the portion is so small. :( i definitely need 3 times the food just to get a full meal.

hyped food. i heard lots of good things about satay brothers and decided to go give it a try. long lineup, it's usually a good sign. ordered papaya salad, satay skewers, pork bun, pork sandwich special of the day, lemonade and mango juice. the food didn't taste as good as people have been praising them for. the papaya salad was great and same goes for the pork bun and the drinks. but the food is not worth the price were being charged for. the satay skewers and their peanut sauce is pretty weak in flavor. pretty bland. it pales in comparison to anything markham has to offer. i want to encourage their business and their effort but food is as good as buffet. sushi palace makes better tasting bbq skewers. 35$ for 2 and still hungry.

i so desperately want to be one of the guys. alex winnicki and mat winnicki, the life forces behind this restaurant, to me seem like the coolest kids on the block.  although i would be of no help to them in the kitchen as i can barely fry an egg (yes the daughter of a chef is completely incompetent with anything above the level of a toaster). i would fit right in because i am fairly certain we share mutual love and respect for home cooking. their singaporean soul is well tasted in their southeast asian food restaurant and atwater food stand. i had never heard of the malay peninsula until discovery of these bros specialties and now i’m dying to check it out. and, to boot: what woman wouldn’t appreciate that the impetus for their venture was their mother’s recipes and resources? cue “awe” s
