simple, delicious, and honest. i am from india and i have lived in the u.s. for a dozen years now. sapthagiri tops the list ofindianrestaurants in terms of how they make you feel at home. i liked it so much that i went there on six consecutive evenings with my family and in-laws during our stay in north bergen, nj. one of the taboo themes no one likes to talk about is howindianrestaurants treat other indians. typically, the word "contempt" comes to mind but at sapthagiri, i had an amazing experience on each of the six evenings. everyone from those taking orders to the chef and the manager (rex waris, a goan) showed genuine interest in their customers. you can spot genuine interest when you see it. there are no two ways at being genuine. i come from a middle class family and the food tastes like home; it feels as if the chef takes pride in the food he prepares. if you crave for simple, delicious food at a non pretentious place that reminds you of home, sapthagiri is the place to visit. parking can be tight, so have someone drop you and pick you up. also, since the restaurant is in high demand, be prepared to wait for 10 - 15 minutes. the place can be noisy and bustling with activity at times in a manner reminiscent ofindianrestaurants back home. i very highly recommend this restaurant.
