always order mild.. i love indian food... but be forewarned, always, always ask for mild. one time i forgot to mention the magic word and my mouth was on fire and my scalp started sweating. i dint know what it is about indian spices but be forewarned, everything mild please.

recommendations: biriyani (indian style fried rice), and anything with fenugreek like the methi. grab both the naan and the nicely fragrant basmati rice to soak up all that delicious curry.

remember- mild!

we visited this indian restaurant last month in jersey city. the place is located at a nice location and the ambience is pretty good and inclusive.

we ordered dal, palak paneer and naan. the food was very delicious and the quantity was good enough for the three of us. really liked their presentation of the food.

the service was quick and they even suggested us their best dishes. totally recommended!

if decent pure veg food, south indian dishes in particular and buffets are your thing then sapthagiri is a good option. we have tried a couple of their buffets,  they do different chat-south indian dishes combination on different days and their thalis and have mostly liked almost everything. their food does not stand out really but it is not bad either. located on the indian street in jersey city, it is one of the numerous establishments serving indian food and if you are a regular there and want a change of taste then this is a good option. they have a decent size seating area and polite and helpful staff.

ordered a dosa and i got this crumbling pieces neatly rolled, after waiting for more than an hour for dinner. when called the restaurant, their response was to pull up my order history so they can understand if i ever ordered this dosa from them before. they just think their customer is lying. worst experience ever, thanks for this food and experience.

one of the finest indian restaurant in jersey city near journal square (where most of the indians reside). this place is the most crowded and buzzed place in jersey city, nj and it lives upto customer expectation by providing the quality of food customers seek for! sapthagiri has a huge waiting line almost everyday but mostly within 15 minutes you'll get a table. dosa's are great here with a-one variety. north indians can try shahi paneer, garlic naan's & other dishes which all go well. do try lemon soda (also called as "banta" in delhi area). must visit place whenever you visit nj.

sapthagiri is located right on the popular "indian street" of jersey city - so it is hard to miss. they provide south indian food mainly and it is pretty decent.

there are many more south indian food joints within a mile area, so there are tonnes of options. sapthagiri is decent in the quality and taste of food it offers.

there is nothing extraordinary that makes it a must go yet it does not disappoint in any way if you happen to visit it. food is fresh and pretty decent portions as well.

my visit was satisfactory but i might just try some other south indian joint around due to plenty of options!

sapthagiri has some good south indian food. it is also fairly authentic. i have been here several times and tasted a few different items on their menu. their dosas are very tasty and so is the sambar and other accompaniments. i used to particularly visit sapthagiri on friday afternoons for their lunch buffet. their chole bhature is quite tasty as well.
