if decent pure veg food, south indiandishesin particular and buffets are your thing then sapthagiri is a good option. we have tried a couple of their buffets,  they do different chat-south indiandishescombination on different days and their thalis and have mostly liked almost everything. their food does not stand out really but it is not bad either. located on the indian street in jersey city, it is one of the numerous establishments serving indian food and if you are a regular there and want a change of taste then this is a good option. they have a decent size seating area and polite and helpful staff.

one of the finest indian restaurant in jersey city near journal square (where most of the indians reside). this place is the most crowded and buzzed place in jersey city, nj and it lives upto customer expectation by providing the quality of food customers seek for! sapthagiri has a huge waiting line almost everyday but mostly within 15 minutes you'll get a table. dosa's are great here with a-one variety. north indians can try shahi paneer, garlic naan's & otherdisheswhich all go well. do try lemon soda (also called as "banta" in delhi area). must visit place whenever you visit nj.

chole bature was not good at all. it was very thick and not traditional taste..
south indiandishesare good. rava dosa ,idli medu vada are all good

planned to have brunch but it was very crowded so came back here for dinner and i must say its too crowded all the time!!! the idlys and vadas were okayish.. vada was half cooked. north indiandishesare great here.. especially garlic naan and subjis.

wow! what a find. dad and i visiting from pittsburgh. got the review from urbanspoon. they had a dinner buffet with made to order dosa. at 9pm the place was packed. once we sat down we had ver authentic south indian food. newdisheswere continously added to the buffet. the staff were great and very attentive. dad is indian and loved it all. my fav was rava dosa with the various chutneys. we will be back for sure they also do traditional indian breakfast. great find.

poor service. never order punjabidishesas they have too poor service for these items.even nearby guest also made comment "what about my order" they were two persons and only one of them recd. dish till other finished.
i had this experience both the time of visit during last few months.

always excellent sometimes outstanding. ok folks
this is the real deal. a great south indian restaurant.

by the way, do not order the
north indiandisheson meal which are good but not great . make sure you order the south-indian items. the south-indian is best deal in tri-state. varies every day so keep on ordering it! staple brunch items like masala dosa, idli, upttapam are wonderful.
